As people of faith who know Christ, we seek to make Christ known to the world. Trinity Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), located in Laporte. Sunday mornings include 9:30 a.m. choir practice (open to all who wish to sing) with worship at 10:00 a.m. Coffee, treats, and fellowship follow every worship service. Communion is celebrated the 1st and 3rd Sundays. Online worship is on Trinity’s YouTube channel, available Saturday evenings at 5:00 p.m. if you aren’t able to join us in-person. Centennial Celebration July 16 & 17 Trinity celebrates 101 years as a congregation July 16 and 17. Saturday, July 16 will be an “Evening of Entertainment” as a thank-you and opportunity for the community to gather and celebrate! Time is 7:00-9:00 p.m. for musical entertainment. Doors opening at 6:30 for people to begin enjoying ice cream treats, fellowship, and looking at Trinity history. Sunday, July 17 will be festival worship at 10:00 a.m. with a catered 24
lunch and program to follow. All are welcomed! Food ministry is very important for Trinity. The Laporte Community Food Shelf is located at Trinity. It is open 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays; closed the 5th Tuesdays of the month. Trinity is also the host congregation for Ruby’s Pop Up Pantry - Laporte the 4th Wednesday of the month. It is a drive-through distribution taking place at the Laporte School Bus Garage from 4:30-6:00 p.m., unless bundles are sold out. Find out more at Ruby’s Pantry-Laporte on Facebook. Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. is low-impact yoga throughout the summer, taught by Myrtle Palm, certified yoga instructor. Anyone interested is encouraged to come and try -- for one week or many! Wear loose clothes, and bring a yoga mat or towel to place on the floor. Cost is a small free will donation. Wednesday, August 3rd is the annual chicken dinner sponsored by Trinity Lutheran Church Women. From 5:00-7:00 p.m. come enjoy a home cooked chicken dinner. Take-out meals are also available. Cost is a freewill offering with proceeds supporting local and worldwide organizations. Good food, fun, and fellowship for all ages. Check our Facebook page for updates on events and activities.
