From that time the church has worked very hard at remaining relevant to the many changes in our society. Presently we feel that we exist in this community to: Experience, Explore, and Expect. 1. We provide opportunities for people to Experience God. 2. We Explore what it means to be a Biblical Christian in today’s world. 3. We Expect God to reveal Himself in practical ways in our lives. Individually, and as a corporate church body, our great desire is to impact everyone for Jesus Christ. Regardless of age, status, race, socioeconomic standing, denomination, or any other differentiating factor, Jesus commanded us in Mark 16:15 to “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” It is the responsibility and privilege of every Christian 28
to carry out this great commission. Our passion has been to allow the Holy Spirit to mold our church and to make it a place of worship that would be relevant to our culture, and attractive to those seeking a church home here in this area. Although the purpose of all Christian churches is to see people enter into a personal relationship with Jesus, each church has a different personality and unique communication style with which they accomplish this goal. PRAG’s Sunday morning worship service is conducted in a way that is meant to be meaningful to those who currently have a committed relationship with Jesus, and to those who are just beginning to explore the Christian faith. Biblical forms of worship are modeled. We attempt to be sensitive to those who may not be familiar with the charismatic style of worship. We experience the presence of God as we sing songs and hymns that are both lively, expressive and jubilant, and those that are meditative and prayerful. Our prayer is that each person comes into contact and has an experience with our living God. We understand that each individual moves along their faith journey at a different pace, and as we allow it, God brings about change through the Holy Spirit as He reveals truth in His time. Our sermons are designed to be practical as we draw from the Scripture to inspire growth and change in every area of our life. We attempt to communicate in a way that is easily understood by all. Everyone is invited to move into a personal relationship with Jesus, and to walk in obedience to His ways. We encourage you to be a part of what God is doing at Park Rapids Assemblies of God Church.
