The 2014 Report Our 3rd year since becoming an official non-profit organization was the busiest year thus far. In the beginning of the year we attended the Justice Conference in downtown Los Angeles together with many other likeminded organizations. On February 27th we partnered with multiple Human Trafficking organizations to spread awareness of modern day slavery. We created the Dance 4 Freedom Campaign, custom designed our dance pants and produced a YouTube video to raise funds for Zoe Children. In March, we visited our program in the favela, Gramacho of Rio De Janeiro. We were so happy to be able to spend some time with our leaders and children there. Read about our mission trip on our blog: www.passport2freedom.org/blog We also attended Fashion Week in Los Angeles in March, networking and spreading awareness about human trafficking. In April, founder Hanne Fellers traveled to Norway to share with schools and churches. In April, we also partnered with Fashion Hope Ambassador Kelly King and founded a campaign: “Hope to Thailand”. In June, Hanne and Kelly traveled to Thailand to empower survivors of human trafficking, they taught jewelry workshops, taught a make-up course and worked on a art project at one of the rehabilitation/aftercare programs in Chiang Mai. In June, our friend, Heather Seib in Medicine Hat, Canada hosted a Dance 4 Freedom event at the local college. Heather and her team gathered dancers from 6 different studios from Medicine Hat and surrounding areas, putting together a unique dance benefit show to help raise funds for our projects. In July, we attended the Word in Motion Dance Festival in Los Angeles and the Step of Hope benefit show to raise awareness and funds for Zoe Children’s homes. In August, we traveled to the Abolition Summit in Kansas City hosted by anti-trafficking organization Exodus Cry. We also became official Monthy Supporters of the work Exodus Cry is doing in the film and entertainment industry. In September, we we’re so honored to attend the biggest peace conference to date in Seoul, South Korea. We were able to speak with and network with politicians, religious leaders and even greet presidents from all over the world. In October, we helped out at the DEAP event for homeless youth at the Covenant house in Los Angeles. Run-away teens and homeless youth are in the high at-risk categories of becoming victims of human trafficking in the US. So we believe in empowering the youth in California, where we are based. In November, founder Hanne Fellers spoke at “The Month of Compassion” at The Underground Church in Los Angeles. In December, P2F artist Silje Sandanger hosted a christmas concert in Fogn, Norway. Silje shared about our projects and gave proceeds from the concert to our projects. We finished the year strong doing a lot of online awareness and fundraising for 2015. We have been able to keep our 100% model for apparel sales, and did greater than the previous years. We are grateful for all we accomplished together with our partners in 2014, and we are really excited to work harder than ever before to be a voice for the voiceless.
The 100% model We have been able to make our vision a reality. 100% of all donations made through Apparel sales go directly to the People living in the Slums/Favelas. How? We have found another way to cover our production and operating expenses. We rely on private donors, foundations, and sponsors to cover everything from apparel and accessories production costs to basic office systems costs. Our donors are some of the most dedicated. Their investment fuels our long-term mission, our ability to scale-up as an organization, and to continue our mission of using public sales of Apparel to go straight to the People in the Favelas. Our operations expenses are raised through donations and fundraising events by Passport 2 Freedom and its supporting foundations and organizations.
