Passport 2 Freedom 2016 report

The 2016 Report This year we continued our efforts to raise awareness of human trafficking and of injustices going on in the Favela Slums in Brazil. Through our education and life-skills program in the Favela, Gramacho, we are grateful to say, lives are being transformed. The recycling program has been going well, but we’ve also learned of the great need to keep this program going, so we hope we can contribute towards this program more next year. In January we shot our newest apparel line with the amazing photographers: Traditional Pattern. In April we returned to Vancouver to attend and promote our Cause at ECO Fashion Week. This summer we focused our energy on raising awarness and meeting with people to fundraise. BREAKING NEWS: We finally fundraised enough for land and a building in the Favela, Gramacho!

FULLY FUNDED

We are truly amazed. Thank-you to everyone who has donated to our programs, and thankyou to everyone who has purchased our apparel. Together we were able to fund our 10 year goal in 6 years. Our leaders Pedro and Nadia have already started the process with the building and are currently interviewing architects and builders. We are so excited to plan a trip to visit the new building that will provide many children with a safe place to learn, create art, receive basic first-aid, master recycling and explore who they were created to be. In late July/beginning of August we hosted a booth at the 11th annual Word in Motion Dance Festival in Los Angeles. In November we had a booth at the ZOE Rescue Walk in Los Angeles. It was a slower year, with a few less events, but such a successful fundraising year. We are excited to see what 2017 has in store. We are so thankful for all our staff, volunteers, donors and people who buy our apparel. We can NOT do what we do without YOU.

We’ve continued our apparel policy of donating 100% of proceeds from apparel sales to the Cause.

The 100% model We have been able to make our vision a reality. 100% of proceeds made through Apparel sales go directly to help prevent Human Trafficking. We help people living in the Slums/Favelas. How? We have found another way to cover our production and operating expenses. We rely on private donors, foundations, and sponsors to cover everything from apparel and accessories production costs to basic o ce systems costs. Our donors are some of the most dedicated. Their investment fuels our long-term mission, our ability to scale-up as an organization, and to continue our mission of using public sales of Apparel to go straight to the People in the Favelas. Our operations expenses are raised through donations and fundraising events by Passport 2 Freedom and its supporting foundations and organizations.
