The 2015 Report 2015 was a busy year for Passport 2 Freedom. We started the year designing a bunch of new apparel. In February we shot our newest line with amazing awards winning photographers, Shari and Mike. In April we traveled to Vancouver to showcase our apparel and promote our Cause at ECO Fashion Week. In May, founder, Hanne Fellers travelled to her home country, Norway to speak at several events and fundraise. She hosted a booth and spoke at the festival Jærdagen in Bryne. She then traveled to the south of Norway in July to help lead and speak at True Story Night at the big music festival, Skjærgårds. In late July/beginning of August we hosted a booth at the 10th annual Word in Motion Dance Festival in Los Angeles. In November we had a booth at the ZOE Rescue Walk in Los Angeles. We attended several Fashion events in October during Los Angeles Fashion Week. Mid November we traveled with an outreach team of ten from the US to the Favela slums. While we were there we were able to participate in art education, dance, sports and games, with children living in extreme poverty and at a high-risk of trafficking. In the Favela slums young girls get taken advantage of, they are often seen as a commodity for drug lords and local gangs. During this trip some of our ladies were able to sit in on a talk with some of the young girls in Gramacho. Our leader, Nadia talked about dreams and thinking ahead, she talked about child/teenage pregnancy. It was inspiring getting to hear some of these young girls dreams. Some dreamed of becoming a doctor, a teacher, a computer specialist, an actress etc. A very high percentage of girls living in Gramacho have children before their 18th birthday, many don’t get education because of this. We are so thankful for all our staff, volunteers, donors and people who buy our apparel. We can NOT do what we do without YOU.

In 2015 we went through some changes. Our Fashion line was originally designed with 100% of what the customer pays for the apparel, to go straight to our projects. To help sustain our programs, we decided to change this to 100% of proceeds from apparel sa;es to the Cause. After asking a lot of our buyrers, they seemed to have an understanding that, that’s what it was all along. With this change, we are able to invest more in art, creative shoots and designs.

The 100% model We have been able to make our vision a reality. 100% of proceeds made through Apparel sales go directly to help prevent Human Trafficking. We help people living in the Slums/Favelas. How? We have found another way to cover our production and operating expenses. We rely on private donors, foundations, and sponsors to cover everything from apparel and accessories production costs to basic o ce systems costs. Our donors are some of the most dedicated. Their investment fuels our long-term mission, our ability to scale-up as an organization, and to continue our mission of using public sales of Apparel to go straight to the People in the Favelas. Our operations expenses are raised through donations and fundraising events by Passport 2 Freedom and its supporting foundations and organizations.
