1ST YEAR OF:
IN REVIEW It’s been a wonderful 1st year for Passport 2 Freedom We are really excited to actually be a real non-profit organization, and having our products for sale to the whole world. Our first year has been a learning experience. We have learned a lot of what it takes and means to be a non-profit. Our main focus has been to establish ourselves, and learn about all the legal agreements of being a non-profit organization. We have learned to create our first fashion and product line. We’ve attended some events, had some wonderful conversations and gotten some good responses on what we do. More importantly, the biggest lesson learned is that unless people know about what we do, no one will believe in our cause, give, or buy our products. The events that we attended this year were few, but all great. We believe this coming year has to have a lot more events/sharing our vision. Because of this we’ve developed a pamphlet about who we are and what we do, that we are planning to send out to as many schools, insitutions, other non-profits, businesses, churches, synagogues, chapels and as many places as possible, hoping for opportunities to go share about what we do. With that said, we feel it’s been a good and lesson-filled first year. We have been able to keep our 100% model for apparel and product sales, and have sold over half of our inventory, and have some great orders already for 2013. We have high hopes for 2013 and believe we will more than double our giving towards the kids at Jocum Borel and the Favela.
P2F at Events:
The 100% model We have been able to make our vision a reality. 100% of all donations made through Apparel sales go directly to the People living in the Slums/Favelas. How? We have found another way to cover our production and operating expenses. We rely on private donors, foundations, and sponsors to cover everything from apparel and accessories production costs to basic office systems costs. Our donors are some of the most dedicated. Their investment fuels our long-term mission, our ability to scale-up as an organization, and to continue our mission of using public sales of Apparel to go straight to the People in the Favelas. Our operations expenses are raised through donations and fundraising events by Passport 2 Freedom and its supporting foundations and organizations.
Passport 2 Freedom’s Love and Compassion Fashion Line was created to raise awareness and financial aid for People living in the Favelas (slums of Rio De Janeiro).
