Transportation and Accessibility

At more than 2,000 square miles, Palm Beach County is the largest county in Florida. Luckily, its many transportation options make traversing its 39 cities and towns a pleasurable experience.

The state’s two major north-to-south thoroughfares, the toll-free Interstate 95 for drivers traveling east and the less trafficked Florida’s Turnpike for those seeking western county destinations, are easy to navigate for the first-time visitor.

Carless visitors can enjoy the county from the comfort of one of its many Palm Tran buses, identifiable by their teal exterior. Inside the buses, LED lighting and USB charging ports for every seat ensure that you’ll never miss your connection.

Your travel experience can be further simplified by utilizing a Tri-Rail train connecting Palm Beach County to Miami and points in between. Another possibility is South Florida Commuter Services, which facilitates ride-sharing options throughout the tri-county area and more.

Palm Beach’s newest transportation option, Brightline, offers high-speed rail to those traveling throughout South Florida. As the only privately owned, operated and maintained passenger rail system in the United States, Brightline provides express service connecting you to conveniently located stations in Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton and West Palm Beach—with a planned future connection in Orlando.

The county is also home to the Palm Beach International Airport, an awardwinning travel hub; the Boca Raton Airport, a former WWII Army Air Corps base, which accommodates business travelers; and the Port of Palm Beach, the state’s fourth-busiest container port.
