Healthy Headlines

Palm Beach County’s hospitals are always looking to improve their services to deliver the absolute best and most cutting-edge care to their patients.

The past year was no exception. Here is a look at the ways in which the hospitals of the Palm Beaches are moving forward to support the health and wellness of the region’s many residents and visitors.

Good Samaritan Medical Center has not only redesigned its Norma E. & Miles M. Zisson Comprehensive Breast Center of the Palm Beaches; the hospital has also added new equipment to the center. The Palm Beach Health Network, which operates Good Samaritan, invested nearly a quarter of a million dollars into the upgrade, bringing a sleek and calm aesthetic look, along with some of the newest high-end technology for patients being treated for their breast health.

The new additions include the Genius 3D Mammography™ exam with Hologic Clarity HD, a technology that generates images of the breast that are sharper and even more detailed so that a cancer can be detected earlier; the Affirm Breast Biopsy Guidance System, which allows doctors to quickly perform 3D breast biopsies on patients and accurately target regions of interest for a breast biopsy; and the Supersonic Mach 40 Ultrasound system, which provides the highest resolution images of patients to enhance diagnostic certainty. These new technological capabilities will ensure greater patient care and confidence for those who come in for their yearly mammograms.
