Good Samaritan Medical Center has also announced a $1 million planned upgrade to its emergency room. The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2023. “Patients entering our facility will be immersed in a calming waiting area, and receive award-winning care in private, fully upgraded treatment rooms outfitted with special touches of home,” said Sheri Montgomery, CEO of Good Samaritan, about the enhanced ER. “These renovations were designed with our community in mind and are meant to help make an emergency feel less stressful.”
Lastly, Good Samaritan recently became the first hospital in Palm Beach County to use ProACT™ technology from URO-MEDICA for its urology patients. The ProACT™ system is implanted within the body to assist protection against accidental urine leakage. This can occur during everyday activities such as coughing, sneezing, or physical activity. Dr. Antonio Beltran, urologist on staff at Good Samaritan Medical Center, became the first physician to use this new system.
Up north, Jupiter Medical Center and UF Health, the University of Florida’s academic health center, have fi- nalized plans for their first jointly operated clinical facility as part of the two organizations’ recently announced alliance. The two-story, 53,000-square-foot Jupiter Medical Center | UF Health Neighborhood Hospital at the Health Park at Avenir in western Palm Beach Gardens will include 24-hour emergency services, inpatient beds, operating rooms, a diagnostic laboratory and imaging services. Additionally, there will be medical office space for physicians, including primary care and various specialties. Sina Companies, a respected national real estate firm head- quartered in Palm Beach Gardens, will develop the facility, which is scheduled to open in 2024.
