PastorJoeHayes.com Pastor Joe’s News Bits For DCF NOVEMBER 2010 Well, here I am again. What a fantastic Church God has brought my family and I to. Sometimes we take for granted what we have because we become too familiar with it, and maybe it takes someone new and fresh to come along and open our eyes once again to see how amazingly blessed we are. So I can challenge you to look around DCF and make a wee list of some of the amazing people, events, and projects you can see. DCF has a massively big heart and desire to serve God and this community. I met Ian Austin, MP recently and what a fantastic reputation DCF has in Dudley. I just keep getting excited when people share what they are doing and what they would like to do. Baptism On the 7th of November we are having a tremendous event; people are making a public confession that they are a follower of Jesus by being baptised. Being baptised in water, is the next step in your journey with the Lord. It’s not an optional extra to the Christian life but a commandment of the Lord. DCC On the 14th November you’ll get to hear some of the brilliant stuff that is happening via DCF counselling centre. Karen, Steve & Amy can tell you some wonderful real-life stories of what God is doing in people’s lives. I can’t wait!
Living Life in 3D I have shared a few times the power of speaking the same language. It encourages, motivates and communicates that we are of one mind and purpose. While I am teaching on “Living Life in 3D” lets talk about it, share our experience of it and pray for one another to Develop Friendships, have the courage to share your story and Discern the next step to bringing people to Jesus. WOW (Women of Worth) The WOW ladies had their first event together with “Spuds and fillings.” What a wonderful evening of fellowship. Lizzie has been so overwhelmed with the willingness of ladies at DCF to serve and make WOW work. The ideas for future events are just wonderful, especially the one to serve the men curry and cheese cake one evening. Heroes Kids What a fantastic time everyone had at the Heroes Kids Party Just a few images.

BIG SUNDAY NIGHT I really think this was a brilliant night, the talent and gifting was amazing. I hope and pray that those who heard the Gospel will come to Jesus.
you would be well received. INDEEP October INDEEP went really well. Remember, the notes can be found on my website. Our next INDEEP will be November 9th at 1pm & repeated at 7pm. We will continue to learn the Bible in 24 hours as a foundation to future subjects. Salop St Community Project I joined the team meeting one evening to discuss future activities. I listened to some fantastic ideas and saw, amazing enthusiasm to serve the community around DCF in practical ways. There was no cheese cake at this meeting!! Just a little of what SSCC have achieved;
Team Tea Time 27th NOV This is an opportunity for everyone in the church to share what they are doing and hear what others are doing. It’s so important in a busy church like DCF that we make time to connect with each other. We are all on the same team, playing a different role, so it is important we are all doing it together. Team Time gives us the opportunity to serve and support each other. I understand how precious time is at a weekend, so 4 – 6pm at the Centre, I hope, will not mess your week-end up to much. Don’t forget to bring food and cheesecake to share.
I have the honour, this year, of being the Chaplin for this project. What an amazing job they do and if you would like to help with packing some boxes
We are sending 5 children, accompanied by 2 staff. They will be travelling down by train and experiencing not only tube travel for the first time, but London for the very first time! None of the students has ever set foot in London before and one of them has only been on a train once, and that only to Birmingham. One of the lads has a set of life goals and one of those is to visit London. So how amazing is it that we are playing a part in helping him realising that goal?! When they arrive, the group will have a personal tour of the Houses of Parliament and see the House of Commons and the House of Lords in session - let’s hope they see some of the famous faces they see on TV while they are there!! They will then be taken to lunch by Ian Austin, who will spend time chatting with them and answering their questions. All the children are really excited about the trip and they have been hand picked by the director of inclusion to go. So this really will have a big impact on them. I am really excited for them and hope they have a fabulous time. Let’s pray that it goes really well, that the experience is positive and that good strong positive links are forged between us, the school and the MP.
MINISTRY OF FUN You may remember I mentioned this vital role in the life of DCF, as God want us to Live, Love & Laugh. It sometimes takes some people to coordinate a bit of fun, so if you think you could fit this role let me know. Christmas Dare I mention Christmas this soon? Well, it’s not long to go and you have two opportunities to invite people to a DCF Carol Service. The 12th Dec & 19th Dec @ 6pm. Both Carol Services will follow the theme of “Jesus, this is your Life.” Some of the Shepherds and Wise men that visited Jesus on the night of His birth will be with us; some of the people whose lives Jesus changed will also with us and, of course, Jesus will be at the Carol Services. OASIS YOUTH Ideas, Ideas, Ideas were flooding the room so that we had to put wellies on the night the team met to look at ways forward. The number
of youths attending Oasis is increasing and so the opportunities to share more and more of Jesus increases. “I am thinking of doing my Irish Dancing and Lilting at the DCF X Factor!” An Oasis Awards Night, An Oasis Big Games Night, the ideas and plans just go on and on. There was no cheese cake at this meeting!!
To my darling husband, before you return from your overseas trip I just want to let you know about the small accident I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the driveway. Fortunately not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, so please don't worry too much about me. I was coming home from Sylvia Park and when I turned into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake... The garage door is slightly bent but the pick up fortunately came to a halt when it bumped into your car. I am really sorry, but I know with your kind-hearted personality you will forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart. I am enclosing a picture for you. I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again. Your loving wife. XX
