These statements of purpose may seem nothing new and maybe, in some of your Christian journeys, you have heard them in some form many times. Our statements of purpose are simply doing what God has been asking His church to do for 2000 years. For me, its about us fixing our focus on these important matters. Statements of purpose for us as a church will mean nothing unless we live them. My challenge is that we do it together, we take corporate responsibility in Loving God, Loving People and Loving Life. For me this is a foundational message in this season for DCF. In light of this, can I really encourage you to download the message, “Loving God, Loving People and Loving Life” or get a copy on CD from Andy at the sound desk. DCF Nights Sunday evenings in Feb will be about getting rid of the “un” in un-forgiveness. How can we forgive when it hurts so much after so long? A big issue many Christians struggle to deal with.
Welcome to the new Welcome Team! A whole month has gone by so you should have been greeted by all the members of the welcome team. This, as I have been explaining, is a very important ministry in the life of the church, as it gives people their first impression of us and often that is what lasts. Can I encourage you to help the Welcome Team by not blocking the church entrance hall and encouraging your children not to hang around the doorway. Also, the soft play area is for 4 year olds and under supervision by their parent/carer. Prayer Team Our prayer team has been appointed to minister to you after every service. Whether announced or not, members of the Prayer Ministry Team will always be at the front of the Church waiting for any one who feels they need personal prayer ministry. Duane Walker Let me introduce Duane to you: a young man with a big smile and big desire to serve God. Duane will be with us approximately once a fortnight, helping with the Youth on Friday Night, Heaven’s Kitchen on Saturday Morning and getting involved on Sunday mornings in lots of different ways. Duane is studying at Mattersey Bible College and is on placement with us here in Dudley.

Money Management Course Youth Mentoring I am sure you have picked up a little bit about how well the Oasis youth is going on a Friday night. As part of our effort to break down barriers with the youth and build a meaningful relationship that point to Jesus, we are planning on introducing a mentoring approach to connecting with them. Home Fellowship Groups What a fantastic response to Home Fellowship Groups, especially the daytime groups and the youth home group. Can I encourage you to make it a priority to have fellowship with your spiritual family mid-week. It is import to be good friends in home groups, and sometimes that means having a laugh together. So remember to have some fun in home groups. There will be a list of new groups on the notice board soon. You can go to a daytime and an evening group if you wish. Heaven’s Kitchen I'm sure you'll agree what a fantastic ministry this is and the Christmas we saw highlights of was a fantastic blessing. Too many people live to pay the next bill and don’t enjoy the money they have been blessed with. As you have heard, you don’t need to be in debt to do this course. Be Who You Can in Christ This is a five week course being provided by DCF & DCC which helps you be who you can be in Christ. Julie & Michael Allen who run this course will be with us soon to explain more and give you the opportunity to sign up.
