PastorJoeHayes.com Pastor Joe’s News Bits For DCF October 2010 WE’R HERE Well here we are finally as a family in delightful Dudley. Moving house is not recommended by me or any one in my family, especially not by Buster whose tail took a few weeks to wag again. Kieran has done really well in his first month at Dudley College, even being voted student rep for the art department. Emmie like Lizzie is still finding her way around and they are both finding it very challenging. I find it funny that they have managed to find their way to shops every time! Because God is fantastic His church is fantastic, and so you as a group of people are fantastic. I am still calling some of you “Fred” but I am gradually beginning to get to know many of you by name and not just sight. The support and welcome we have had from many of you has been a Big Blessing to us all. I am doing my best to get to know you and you me. Just to help you know me a bit better, you already know I hate jigsaws.

There are however, a few things I love, these being , peanuts, football and cheesecake, all at the same time! WHAT I HAVE SEEN Some of the work I have witnessed in the Dudley Counselling Centre is amazing, it seems every day I take calls from people asking for counselling. People are clearly living in desperate times and it is tremendous that DCF are able because of Jesus, to provide help and support. I know of two people who come for counselling who are asking to do the Alpha course. I was working in my office one Saturday morning when there was a smell. It was a familiar smell. The smell made my month water. It was the smell of bacon. Then my prayers were answered, a call came from downstairs, “Pastor Joe do you want some bacon?” I almost fell over trying to get down the stairs. What a fantastic job Heaven’s Kitchen is doing. It was a delight to sit and talk with a few of the precious people who came in for breakfast and the bacon was brilliant.

Questions questions questions, I have been to the Bible study group at the Wrens Nest Community Centre. There is so much we can ask and learn about God and His Word.

If you missed what was shared on 12th September you can download it from my website www.PastorJoeHayes.com In Deep

No Dull Stars The “All Stars” team met together with desire to shine Jesus into the lives of the children. It is such a joy to hear God’s people talk with vision and desire to do more and better things for the Lord. Some of the things that are going to happen are just going to be fantastic. I do have to mention also that the Cheese Cake we had after the meeting was probably the best cheese cake in the world. A Dudley Oasis

In Deep, does what it says, it is an opportunity to go a bit deeper in Bible study. The monthly event lasts around three hours. Please do come prepared to take part. If any one would like to be a tea / coffee maker for the events please let me know.

I spoke to the young people on a Friday night at DCF, what a fantastic bunch. So many hearing the Gospel every week and the numbers are growing. I was so excited the night I spoke to them because I was going to see “Scott Pilgrim Verses the World” at the Cinema the next day, so that’s what I spoke about good overcoming evil and everyone of them sat silent and even more amazingly still ! !

An Honour

Vision & Direction

On 17th October we welcoming new members and the dedication of Zach Daniel Braiden is at 6pm. On 31st October there will a Party for the children & Parents in the DCF Centre at 4pm and then this will be followed by “BIG SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE” at 6pm. On the 7th of November I believe we have a brilliant

As you know I shared some vision with DCF a few weeks ago and the response has been amazing. The willingness of DCF to get involved and serve within the church and the community, in my view, is exceptional and commendable. Over the next few months I’ll keep you up to date with developments.

What a Day to Treasure, it was truly an honour for me to take part in this amazing event. The Bible tells us that despite having gone to be with the Lord James Treasure’ testimony continues to touch people’s lives. (Heb 11:4) Really Looking Forward

PastorJoeHayes.com Pastor Joe’s News Bits For DCF October 2010 night in store; when people will confirm their commitment to Jesus and His Church by being baptised. Chaplaincy

Living Life in 3D For a season when I share on a Sunday mornings, aiming to encourage DCF to Develop Friendships, Discover Stories & with the help of the Holy Spirit Discern the Nest Step in winning people to Jesus. Team Time We at DCF are all on the same team. Whatever you do, whatever ministry, service or role you fulfil it’s for Jesus. I really want to create an opportunity for everyone to meet together maybe once every two months to share the good stuff that God is doing through your ministry. I’ll keep you informed. What you do individually and collectively is really valued.

I felt the Lord remind me that our mission field begins on our door step; Butterfield Court is the block of flats behind the Church building. I offered a chaplaincy service from the Church to the residents association. After meeting with them, all the residents of Butterfield will be made aware of the provision of prayer and spiritual support, so pray for me as I seek to minister to the residents. Prayer For Us We will continue to settle in. Our house in Barrow will sell. For wisdom to serve and vision to lead. Jobs for Emmie & Kieran. Projection for Lizzie travelling.
