Overview

This section of the Tervita Corporation Brand Guidelines will assist you with the application of the Tervita brand identity to fleet vehicles, specialty equipment and yellow iron. These brand elements include the Tervita logo, corporate tagline “Earth Matters”, our URL “tervita.com”, and the markings & graphics for High Visibility fleet vehicles. This section will also provide guidance for the placement and positioning of regulatory, statutory and other required decals such as permits, unit numbers and the like. With thousands of pickups, heavy trucks, yellow iron and specialty equipment in the field across North America, our working fleet is the most visible and prevalent physical expression of the Tervita corporate brand. The consistent application of our brand identity to fleet vehicles and equipment is critical to maintaining strong brand integrity in the marketplace and doing so will set us apart from the competition.

In some instances it may be impractical to position the brand elements exactly as indicated due to characteristics of particular vehicle due door handles, mirrors, body trim and vehicle identifiers are all examples of items that may create a problem. In these cases the Tervita branded element should be moved away from those elements in order to provide proper clearance around them. Care should be taken to maintain the overall location of these brand elements as indicated wherever possible.

This Fleet Vehicle section will outline positioning, sizes, colour and material to be used for the application of Tervita brand to our working fleet . The following illustrates a variety of typical vehicles and equipment indicating the intended location of the Tervita brand elements.

Vehicle Graphics

| Overview

Vehicle Background Color and Logo Version

Heavy Trucks, Pickups, Specialty Vehicles (ex. box units or tank / vacuum trucks) are to be white with coloured Tervita brand elements. If a vehicle is any other colour other than white it is recommended that either the vehicle be painted white or that these vehicles are neutralized of any branded elements. Exceptions for specialized vehicles or vehicles that are black in colour may be made, however the coloured logo should have a white keyline around the perimeter to separate the logo from the non-white vehicle color. For Yellow Iron (Caterpillar, John Deere, etc.) the black and white logo and other branded elements should be utilized. Heavy equipment with boom arms such as excavators are the only exception where the TERVITA wordmark is to be utilized on either side of the boom arm in black (or white in cases such as John Deere equipment where the boom arm is a dark contrasting color). Given the variety of manufacturers, makes and models, equipment size and placement of obstructions (e.g. ventilation grills, hatches and openings, etc.) the placement of brand elements on the body or cabs of Yellow Iron equipment will be varied, but with the intention of the best visibility of the brand from all sides.

Vehicle Graphics

For Specialty Vehicles, the cab portion of the vehicle will remain white with standard truck decal application, but the bed, trailer or attached equipment portion of the vehicle will be transitioned to the PMS 350 Forest Green colour. Ancillary Equipment such as well service rigs or various other specialized equipment, equipment color will be transitioned to the PMS 350 Forest Green colour wherever possible per designs.

Paint Procedures & PMS Specification

This procedure applies to all steel and aluminum surfaces that are to be painted.

Pantone Matching System (PMS) Color Specification

On all refit or refurbished units; all hoses, engines, transmission, radiators, lights etc. to be removed as directed by Tervita Corporation.

Primary

Hydraulic lines, electrical wiring, identificaiton tags, nameples, faceplates, chrome cylinder rods, air brake valves, steering axle hubs, dipsticks, air nipples etc. shall be protected to avoid abrasion or contamination damage.

Secondary Green - Pantone 350C - CMYK C85/M35/Y100/K50)

Sandblasting: All sandblasted steel substrates to be cleaned of all mil scale and surface impediments. Where possible the applicator will make â&#x20AC;&#x153;best effortâ&#x20AC;? to brush in and dificult to reach and pockets prior to spray application. Curing: Protect painted equipment from rain, condensation, snow, frost, surface contamination or sudden exposure to heat for at least 24 hours after painting. Do not pressure wash or steam clean freshly painted equiment for at least 30 days after painting.

Touch Up Procedures on Units: All touch ups are to be confirmed and collectively agreed by the customer and applicators before unites are to be started.
