THIS MONTH Welcome to The Northern Light July-August Brochure We have lots of family films for you this month but whether you have children or not there are three films which will appeal to all ages: MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU sees the return of the lovable, babbling characters along with their Despicable leader Gru. Always hilarious, the Minions have become much-loved bundles of big screen fun! Next up we have LIGHTYEAR, for those of you who were children when Toy Story came out, you will enjoy this origin story that inspired Buzz Lightyear the astronaut toy and for those of you who now have children of your own, you can go to ‘infinity and beyond’ together. Finally, we’re going way back in time for THE RAILWAY CHILDREN RETURN; Jenny Agutter reprises her role as Bobbie - all grown up! We’re sure that you’ll want to share this wonderful film with all the family and if you want to make a day of it, and arrive by steam train, the shows are timed to work with the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. Thank you to all those who supported the Wirksworth Twinning Association screening of The Bicycle Thieves, we raised £180 which has been donated to the DEC. We will continue with films presented by WTA from September so look out in future brochures for the best of French, Italian and German cinema. We are excited to announce the new ROH 2022-2023 SEASON and what a season it is! If you are a keen supporter of the Royal Opera House we invite you to purchase 13 shows for the price of 12 and you will get a welcome glass of Prosecco every time you come to a show.
