Hello Wirksworth! We are delighted to be taking over the running of the Northern Light – we have admired it from afar and relish the opportunity of being part of its future! Many of you will know us from the Ritz Cinema in Belper that Amanda opened in 2006. It is a cultural hub and has earned a place in the hearts of the many who attend. We plan to programme a huge variety of films - expect gripping arthouse drama, foreign language thrillers, all-action blockbusters, classics, romantic comedies and everything in between. Cinema offers an escape and brings people together for a shared experience - we are thrilled to bring our passion for film and a good night out to Wirksworth. Wherever possible we plan to run a programme that compliments both sites which will give you the best possible options for seeing your favourite films. We have added daytime shows at The Northern Light and have adjusted film start times to reflect new working patterns and lifestyles. We will also reintroduce event screenings including ballet, opera and plays. There will be some other subtle changes, nothing too revolutionary and hopefully all welcome. Ticket Prices We have lowered tickets prices - you read that correctly! We are hoping that this will encourage more regular visits and give everyone the oppurtunity to see a film with us. Please see the prices listed below. Membership Over the coming months we will introduce a membership that includes free tickets and discounts. This will be similar to The Ritz, Belper, and there will be an option to buy a combined membership once we have got ourselves organised - watch this space! All existing Northern Light memberships will be honoured. Brochure For this month we have sent a brochure to everyone in Wirksworth. We would like the cinema to become the heart of the community so we wanted to invite everyone to be part of the celebration of film! In future, only members will receive a brochure so please do sign up to the mailing list for further info. Meet & Greet We are holding a welcome day on Saturday 30th April 12pm - 3pm and we’ll be around over the weekend so pop in to see us. We’re very excited to be part of Wirksworth’s future. We look forward to seeing you all soon! Amanda & Tony Mundin
