ow t h at T r u mp h a s d eclassified the Trump-Russia HOAX papers that contained so-called “sensitive” information, maybe citizens will see our President had good reason to be angry. Those papers show the Democrat party “invented” the Trump-Russia HOAX to hide Hillary’s illegal server problem, and keep Trump from being elected, plus keep his presidency from doing the things he promised voters.

I am 77, and no President in my lifetime has done as much as President Trump to keep his promises, especially when considering the Democrat party lies about him and the mass media efforts to hurt conservatives. Unfortunately, our mass media has become a joke to conservatives, and they helped prove Trump’s claim of FAKE NEWS. I am a news junkie who listens to the radio, watches network and cable TV, reads newspapers, and talks to people, both liberal and conservative. It is scary to listen to people who have only the mainstream media as their source of news, not because it is slanted liberal, but because much is fabricated lies. They repeat the lie as if fact while using the originator’s title to give credence to the statement, yet it keeps the media off the hook. Real reporters would verify before reporting.

I am a simple writer, while trained reporters are wordsmiths, trained to twist words in such a way as to make them appear to say what the reporter wants to be said. People often use this skill without scruples, but integrity must be exercised when a lie is involved. I no longer expect integrity from our mass media. No matter if it is TV, radio, or print, the news must be presented as factual, and today’s media continually lies to America. I ask each citizen to give

When liberal Democrats attacked Justice Clarence Thomas with accusations and ZERO facts, did the same with Justice Kavanaugh, and are attacking Amy Coney Barrett as I write, something is wrong with Democrats. Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a known far-left liberal ACLU lawyer, but her credentials were excellent, so many Republicans voted FOR her. The Constitution in Article VI Clause 3 says, NO RELIGIOUS TEST SHALL EVER BE REQUIRED, referencing the holding of office or government position. However, they are required to take an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. Congress has the Constitutional power to limit and regulate the court, but they like being able to point at the court if rulings anger the people and say, “They did it.” The liberal Justices on the court believe our amendment process where only We the People change the Constitution, is too cumbersome to be left to mere citizens, and they know better, so they make rulings as if they are law, which they are not.

That explains why liberals fear more conservative judges.

By design, we are not a Christian

nation, but even a basic study of our history shows our laws are based on Judeo-Christian morals. The Ten Commandments are seen in the Supreme Court chambers… if democrats have not yet had them removed. The basic precepts of Judeo-Christian teachings are the backbone of our courts, and those who say one cannot legislate morality are simpletons. The purpose of the law is to legally force people to be moral. If humans were moral, there would be no need for the law. If the Democrats had done this Trump-Russia HOAX in South America, it would be a COUP, like many prior attempts at overthrowing an elected government. Unfortunately for the U.S., it was done here. For the first time in history, the Obama administration used government power to attack the opposition party during an election. Hillary and the DNC paid a foreign government for lies about the republican candidate and used the FBI, DOJ, and government resources to accuse Trump of things THEY did.

Hillary, James Comey, Brennan, McCabe, Strzok, Page, and a few others should probably be in handcuffs… but don’t count on it.

16th City in the Nation to Outlaw Abortion Within City Limits

n Monday, October 12th, 2020, the West Texas city of Morton passed an enforceable ordinance immediately outlawing the act of abortion within their city limits. The unanimous vote by t he Cit y Cou nci l wa s viewed as a definitive victory by residents in Morton, Texas.

Pau l Zapata was one of the residents who spoke before the council before their vote. Zapata has been a longtime resident of the city of Morton a nd cu rrently serves as the Vice President of the Morton Independent School District’s School Board.

Today, this community of believers drew a line in the sand and committed to protecting the innocent babies of this community for generations to come.”

Morton Elementary School Principal Rina Ramos stood in agreement with Zapata. “As a principal, when I see the face of those kids as they come into the school, I see the hope for our future. Every child is a gift and has a destiny that only they can fulfill. My job is to protect them and help them discover that destiny.” Ramos continued,” The thought that any life would be unfulfilled . . . that hope for the future would be destroyed . . . No. We have to draw a line in the sand and choose life. Jesus said, “I set before you life and death, choose life.” If we are to protect

our hope, protect our future, then we must protect our kids. We must choose life.”

The Sanctuary City for the Unborn ord i na nce for the city of Morton states, “It shall be unlawful for any person to procure or perform an abortion of any type and at any stage of pregnancy in the City of Morton, Texas,” Morton’s ordinance also states, “It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly aid or abet an abortion that occurs in the City of Morton, Texas.” Abortion, as defined in the ordinance, is “the act of using or prescribing an instrument, a drug, a medicine, or any other substance, device, or means with the intent to cause the death of an unborn child of a woman known to be pregnant.”

According to Local Government Code 51.012 in regards to general law cities, “The municipality may adopt an ordinance, act, law, or regulation, not inconsistent with state law, that is necessary for the government, interest, welfare, or good order of the municipality as a body politic.” The Pre-Roe Texas abortion statutes wh ich criminalize abortion and impose criminal liability on those who aid and abet abortions were not repealed by Roe v. Wade, have never been repealed by the legislature, and have not been determined by Texas state court to be repealed by implication. Because of this, the Pre-Roe Texas abortion statutes continue to exist as the laws of the State of Texas until the state legislature or the state courts determine otherwise.

Thanksgiving is a Celebration of Our Liberty

hanksgiving is a fitting time to reflect on the blessings and goodness of our nation’s heritage, our history, and our people.

Many have sacrificed their treasure and their blood that we might live in freedom.

Thanksgiving is a celebration of our Liberty as much as it is a time for us to be thankful for our great abundance. It is a time to recall that our Constitution preserves our right to work without a monarch, dictator, or other despot taking that which we have earned.

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful that we are free people who can take care of our families and do that which we believe will be of the greatest benefit for our families and us.

Wit hout L iber ty, t here i s no

abundance. Without Liberty, the quality of life and goods deteriorates.

Only a free people can produce and maintain an abundant prosperity and a civilized culture. Without Liberty,

common sense, common virtue, and common decency would quickly become uncommon.

and those who labored and fought with them to gain our freedom from a monarchy.

In 1789, when our Bill of Rights was written, our Revolutionary War was still a very recent history. Liberty and the fact that our new government had been established to protect and serve the people was still a new concept. The people did not serve the government.

Thanksgiving is one of our nation’s major Holy Days. Thanksgiving is a day set aside to give thanks to our Creator, who provides to us and His entire Creation food and the other necessities of life.

Also, that resurrected eternal life in glorious communion with God comes only through self-repentance in surrender to our Savior Jesus Christ according to His eternal written word.

My primary mission to the world is to proclaim: Christ lived a perfect life, was tortured then killed as a willing sacrificial substitution for the wrath you and I earned in self-willed disobedience to God’s perfect law, m i racu lously was

Judges: Judge appointments who defend Original Intent of the Constitution, Religious Liberty, and the rights for Christians to freely practice their faith under increasing hostility from the left, especially left-leaning judges. Many are strong Christians and defenders of life. He appoints them up and down the federal court system culminating in Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and now Amy Coney Barrett.

Decency?

o, what is decency anyway? One definition states that decency is: Noun: behavior that conforms to accepted standards of morality or respectability. ”She had the decency to come and confess.”

Now you can parse, dissect, and contemplate the meanings of each word and come to your own conclusion. Some like to spin, twist, manipulate, and come to some exaggerated hypothesis on what the actual meaning is. The left absolutely loves to demonize and destroy words and the meaning of the words they don’t like or accept.

For example, the term liberal was used to describe leftists until the negativity connotation became synonymous with the term liberal when used as a label for leftists and democrats. The result was that liberal was immediately dropped, and leftists and democrats adopted the term “Progressive”. The bottom line is that the left like to use words to hide behind because their true intentions and agenda typically will not stand the light of day or actual scrutiny, especially in the court of public venues where the citizens are informed.

The left has even tried to play games w ith words like reality, implying that somehow reality differs from person to person as does the truth. The implication that my truth and your truth might vary with regard to a plain fact is quite simply just absurd. But absurdity has never stopped the left or democrats from throwing everything against the wall to see what will stick and then running with the result in hopes of damaging or inflicting injury upon their enemies or opponents. But that is a low blow and a dirty trick. Well, yes, in the

realm of decency, it certainly is unacceptable behavior, but when has something like that ever stopped the extremists from doing it?

During the last four years, we have witnessed the seeming demise of things like ethics, morality, decency, and, most certainly, civility.

The ability to engage in civil discourse about anything that the left has not deemed appropriate or furthers the left’s agenda is positively not allowed, period. Those who are foolish enough to attempt to disagree with the left are browbeaten, harassed, or positively terrorized into submission by extreme radicals who will do absolutely anything to suppress and silence any and every dissent to their ideology.

Consider situations such as Conservative speakers who attempt to educate and inform young people on college or university campuses who are typically not going to hear anything about the right or conservatism otherwise. Any time that a Conservative dares to speak on a college or university campus in America today. The result is usually angry mobs of misinformed, uneducated students, steeped in a farleft ideology, which is typically all that they experience with the possible exception of home and church, taking to the streets to trash, smash, and riot. The behavior is the typical response to any attempt to present

ideas and world views on the opposite side of the political spectrum.

Students are typically not even presented with ideas of anything except the furthest left and most radical viewpoints of professors who proudly and openly identify as socialist, Marxist, and even just plain communists.

To those on the extreme left, the idea of decency, like most ideas, is fluid and continually changing.

The left typically rejects the idea of rigid, concrete definitions, especially those which are representative of right and wrong. The left typically rejects the idea of right and wrong and attempts to categorize or assign degrees or levels of right and wrong. Ideas that differ from those accepted and commonly utilized by the left are entirely rejected and accompanied by some drawn-out hypothesis of nonsense and academically belabored diatribe. To the majority of Leftists, the ends justify the means, period.

The only difference will be a whole new set of chains to bind us to their will, though they may not be visible to the eye the weight of every link you’ll feel.

e reside in California, a very blue one-party state that used to elect Republican governors regularly, not too long ago.

Good Republican governors.

My wife is a native of Sacramento.

I moved here from the heartland 35 years ago to begin my career in the Bay Area. It was left of center in Silicon Valley even then, but it was also livable, still affordable, clean, upbeat, and a heck of a lot of fun.

My how times change.

For the last twenty years, we have lived in a small upscale community outside Sacramento after leveraging up all that “privilege” to work our way through college and grind our way through 55-hour work-weeks while following the law, saving money, and raising your kids.

Our area is fairly conservative—or at least it was. It’s a bit less so now.

We still have a good conservative Congressman in Tom McClintock (who has been invisible here this race against his opponent). Bay Area folks fed up with life there have been

selling their million-dollar track houses to get twice as much here for half the cost.

New neig hbors f rom t he Bay moved in across the street a few months ago—50-something, sociable, and fun. My wife baked cookies.

Both routinely tell us how shocked they are by our warm and friendly neighborhood. “It isn’t like this in the Bay Area—we didn’t even know our neighbors!” admitted Susan (not her real name). “It’s like Mayberry here!”

She and my wife began taking long morning walks almost daily. My wife is very conservative and bites her tongue, not to let her views be known. It was clear early on that Susan was not, though she was not on the kook-fringe, either—but she has some kooky uninformed ideas.

My wife and Susan have never talked about politics. That changed a few weeks ago during one of the walks when Susan whispered, “I have to ask you something. Are you a Trump supporter?”

Bruce Springsteen: Born in the USA. But the Boss May Be Packing His Bags.

guess his hit song, “Born to Run,” may turn out to be prophetic.

Bruce Springsteen announced last week that if President Trump wins re-election, he’ll be on the next plane to Australia.

It seems to happen every election cycle. A celebrity, usually an actor or singer, makes the grand announcement that if the election does not go as they wish, they will move to Canada, France, Australia, or some distant land. Like a spoiled child, their threats are made as if they honestly believe it will change voting hearts and minds.

Barbara Streisand and other celebrities have made similar threats during past elections. Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee told The Big Issue recently that he’ll go “back to my Motherland.”

(Wherever that is) But is there any evidence that they ever really leave?

Do their threats change anything?

There is a pattern. It’s almost always a musical performer or actress/ actor, and it’s usually someone from left of center making the threat. The next part of the pattern is that it always seems to backfire, having the opposite of the desired impact, and

the final step of the pattern is they never actually leave.

I’m always surprised by how much political power celebrities believe they carry. Why would Springsteen think we care about his political views, and what would bring him to a conclusion he would sway a single vote?

Arrogance, maybe?

When Bruce, Barbara, Tommy Lee, and others spend years stepping onto a stage to standing ovations and adoring crowds, I think the thrill of the adoration gives them a false sense that because we enjoy their performance, that we are willing to take their directions on politics and general life.

I respect the views of Bruce and his activist group of entertainers, but their successful lifestyle is nothing like the life that those without the same talents and opportunities live.

In my opinion, the only thing to come from Bruce Springsteen’s threat to leave the USA is that he has totally shattered his “blue-collar-commonman persona” forever.

So why do we look to Bruce for direction?

We don’t.

Vast Majority of Whites are not Racist

ost Americans and virtually all Christians were taught not to mistreat others, that God is the father of all, and we demonstrate our love for God by how we treat and serve others. The vast majority of whites, including police, are not unkind to blacks or racist. So, don’t tell us that all whites and only whites have some kind of systemic racism because of their skin color.

That belief is very racist and a lie.

I, like most Americans, have never participated in any activity harmful to blacks. In fact, most Americans have ancestors who fought in the Civil War to help rid this nation of slavery—360,222 northerners dying for that cause. And it was predominantly whites that gave America their first black president. If whites were systemic racists, that would have never happened. In America, race-baiting to perpetuate racism is a vastly more significant problem than actual racism.

So Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other groups, media outlets included, looking to incite blacks to riot and blame all whites, cease the fake narrative. Today blacks have the same rights as any other race, no less, nor more. If whites are systemically racist, then Barack Obama’s white mother would be racist and Barack himself, half white, thus half racist. Nonsense!

Americans who have never contributed to racism should have no white guilt. For the sake of argument, let us assume that my ancestors were slave owners and/or racists. Should I then have guilt or owe reparations to them? Certainly not to the living, and the dead are dead. Then, to their posterity generations later? Of course not! How would it be quantified? Most blacks are mixed black and many without slave history—like

Obama in both respects. The racism that existed in the past must be left in the past. A just God will judge between the offender and the offended.

Otherwise, the offense, given new life, passes to the next generation.

Since, in America, nobody came through the birth canal a slave since 1865—155 years ago—no one now living is responsible. So, if you force me to pay reparations for harm an ancestor may have done to someone dead generations ago, why should I not expect the same from their posterity for the damages done to me by making me pay for offenses I never did?

Thus, it passes to the third, fourth, or tenth generation, each alternately offending the other over justices that can never be resolved without continual offense. Somebody has to let it go, whether they ever forgive or not.

For many years I taught this philosophy as the only remedy possible to end the offense of slavery with only one dissenter; a black male student from an inner-city back east who had so much hatred for alleged white behavior long before that he could hardly express himself. I asked him if he had been personally offended. He could not identify a single personal offense but still hated. The thought of

letting it go, or not hating because of it, he could not breach. Generational hatred was just too intense.

Critics may argue, “Whites have never felt racism as we have. It is easy for them. They have never been beaten up for their skin color.” Perhaps, but some whites know what it is like to be unmercifully beaten up for no other reason than their skin color.

Forty-four years ago, I knew a white California college professor that experienced just that. While grading final exam papers at the end of his first semester in California, he was subjected to loud and offensive language outside his office, bordering an open quad. It looked as if two fights were going on outside, and, being the nearest authority on campus, he asked them to stop. When they didn’t, he reached down to pull one of the combatants off another. He was the black leader of a gang of more than a dozen fellow Mexican gang members. They all attacked him. The two whites being beaten took the moment to run.

He had never seen any of these assailants before; one standing in front kicking him unmercifully with full force to the head every time he lifted it, his friends hitting and kicking him from every direction. His mind, very

blurred from the blows, silently uttered to God his dangerous situation, “I will shortly be with Thee if you do not intervene on my behalf.” Almost immediately, another white male faculty member entered the quad. The gang immediately attacked him also, allowing the professor to get to his feet. They encircled both then pulled off their belts with large belt buckles, for which this gang was known, whipping them from all sides. In time they were able to ease to the door of the building and slip inside to safety.

Police later arrived and, mauled as he was, the professor was escorted to a police car with the restrained black gang leader inside snarling oaths of hatred and threats to kill him, if identified, as he approached. Identified, the gang leader was incarcerated for six months for the beating. Not long after that sentence, he killed a child and was reincarcerated, ending the professor’s immediate threat. Eventually, the professor moved and never heard from the assailant again, but fear does not dissipate easily. He carried a can of maze with him for the next many years. No one was going to beat him like that again. The victim professor was me.

Have I forgotten this injustice to me?

No, nor do I blame all blacks and/or Mexicans for the scum of a few. Nor did I teach my children to do so. But isn’t that what race baiters want blacks to do to the whites?

The Deadliest Disease and the John Dewey Debacle!

few days ago, I happened to be looking at a piece of furniture at a local store and unavoidably heard someone ranting about President Trump and Republicans in general. The remarkably loud fellow was lecturing another customer about the evils he was anxious to credit to those of us with a Conservative bent. According to this fine specimen of questionable intellect, over 80 percent of Republicans are white supremacist men, who all beat their wives and tend to have secret criminal behavior in other areas as well! And he projected that Donald Trump was a rival to the devil himself; of course, he couldn’t think of anything specific to charge Trump with, but he just “knew” that the President was up to no good!

Now here was a male senior citizen, who, in passing, looked reasonably normal, but was obviously afflicted with the dreaded “Liberal Intelligence Deficiency Disease” or “LIDD” for our purposes of discussion. Indeed, this is by far the deadliest and most dangerous sickness on the prowl in our American society today, vastly overshadowing cancer, heart disease, and far more potent at destroying lives than the vaunted and much overhyped

SOCIALISM!

It’s only killed 118 million people so far... why not give it one more try?

“Covid-19” could ever possibly be.

And among the things that make this mental curse so pervasive is that many of its victims may appear benign, with numerous unfortunate carriers embedded within our educational and political systems. Behind their healthy facades, many of them are frothing with enthusiasm to spread their poisonous infections. It is fair to say that some of the strongest chains of slavery are those locking up the mind, and they are also some of the most difficult to break; this circumstance is especially prevalent among “LIDD” casualties.

We do have an effective remedy for this tragic syndrome, but one of the saddest symptoms of those struck by the nasty “LIDD” condition is the victim’s outright and vicious resistance to receiving treatment. When confronted with logic and truth, these poor folks who are so constrained by the tentacles of their unfounded hatred and misinformation often go into emotional convulsions and begin thrashing about and attacking the very individuals attempting to help them. A hard lesson for those of us who would try and administer aid is that many of these wretched sufferers are beyond help of any kind and have to be, at the very least contained, and most desirably overpowered in their destructive electoral conduct.

The best way to avoid the horrible consequences of “LIDD” is to provide proper educational nourishment to young minds, as well as to those still capable of receiving infusions of logic. John Dewey was an early “super-spreader” of this dangerous affliction and made every devious effort to undermine traditional values of Western Civilization and replace them with “progressive” confusion. He understood very well that the only way he and his “progressive” cohorts could institute their communistic hypothesis

would be to discredit the concepts of individual identity or worth, and certainly that of personal accountability.

Dewey and others in this dastardly cabal knew that confusion was the real key to human manipulation. Those of us with rural backgrounds well know that when the herd is confused, it’s easier to pen them up— the same applies to people!

If we want to see what has caused the modern educational apocalypse, look no further than John Dewey. Dewey was the chief architect of our current “progressive” education mess. Dewey was a big fan of Karl Marx and just also happened to be a rabid atheist. Is it any wonder that the modern public school system promotes and elevates socialist ideals as well as daily attempts to prejudice students against any sort of spiritual influence? Dewey rebelled against the concept of Natural Order or Universal Truth and decided that society would be better off by just making up its own rules as it goes along its merry way. This disastrous formula has resulted in a politically correct French Revolution-style “Progressive Reign of Terror!” (Ongoing!)

Let’s take a moment to examine just where we are. Since Dewey helped found the ACLU, do we have more freedom of speech, or less; or more freedom of religion, or less, or more freedom of association, or less— can we spell “forced busing” or “social distancing mandates?” Since Dewey and other socialists helped found the NAACP, has there been better integration and assimilation of Blacks into American society, or has the result been simply to foster more division and hatred among the races? Has Dewey’s ambition of gradually forcing “progressivism” on American education enhanced students ability to think and reason, or has it instead resulted in a means to restrict and stupefy creative thought by filling

young minds with “woke” rubbish, thereby spawning a more effective system for population control by the internationalists/globalists?

In our culture today, we often see merit sacrificed on the altar of “inclusion,” and historical facts regularly being replaced with social justice “1619” type nonsensical fantasies.

Take away foundational knowledge, and the population is cast about on a sea of uncertainty— it certainly has been an effective plan on the part of the progenitors of evil who are intent on destroying America and remaking it into a mirror image of North Korea.

I just hope and pray that there are enough of us who are not subject to the debilitating “Liberal Intelligence Deficiency Disease” (sometimes also referred to as “progressive mental wasting disorder”) to right this ship before it is permanently capsized and sunk!

By the way, we have no actual proof that even one person in the world has been protected from the “Covid-19” flu by wearing a mask, as at least 85 percent of Covid-19 positive people have regularly worn masks. Still, we do have countless examples of individuals being injured, and in some cases suffering death, from the effects of the universal “mask mandate!”

If you have registered firearms and the government decides you have to turn them in, you will have little choice when they turn off your access to your funds until you turn in your firearms.

Do you really think this chipping is for “we the people’s” benefit? No, it is not!

Antifa and BLM are just annoyances and distractions compared to this

mandatory vaccination movement.

The Virtue of Capitalism

here has been a lot of talks recently about socialism. Politicians like Senator Warren, Bernie Sanders, and AOC seem willing to throw away everything we’ve built in the name of socialism.

Because of that, I thought it would be good to write about the virtue of capitalism. Capitalism is a great system that has brought us an incredible amount of prosperity. It needs to be defended.

T h e S y s t e m s o f E v i l b e fo r e Capitalism: So, why is capitalism a virtuous system? What makes it great? The logic of consent. Capitalism is the only economic system tried thus far that relies on consent rather than force. That is what was so

groundbreaking about The Wealth of Nations and is what makes it easy to defend the virtue of capitalism.

Feudalism relied on brute force.

Nobles taxed and stole from the peasants. It wasn’t a virtuous or moral system; it was an evil system.

As Francisco D’ Anconia notes in his quote about money, any monetary system that relies on force rather than consent is bound to turn men into slaves. That was the case with feudalism. Many of the serfs were tied to their land like slaves. Hopefully, that shows why it was an evil system. Luckily Europe began to transition away from it, especially with the rise of the British Empire.

Mercantilism was the next system tried by the Western world. It was better than feudalism. Many in society were free to rise in society.

They could become merchants and create fortunes for themselves or head to colonies and start a new life. However, it still had negative

Do I Hate Democrats?

s a Christian, I must quest i o n m y m o ra l c o m p a s s from time to time. Lately, events in America are trying to say the least and give us cause to reflect on who and what we are.

Clearly, the world has flipped upside down - where right is wrong, and wrong is right.

I’m sure in history, things have been worse. In fact, one example comes to mind. The Bible story about Sodom and Gomorrah. We seem to be similar in too many ways. That was the reason God destroyed the place and everything in it.

I ref le c te d on how I se em to hate Democrats. I don’t want to hate anyone – life is too short for that emotion. So, maybe despise is a better word. I despise t he actions of the leadership in our nation, and I despise the support they receive from nearly half the population.

We’re told to love our neighbor as ourselves. But the good book also says God hates lies and liars, hates murder, and He wants us to keep the Sabbath day holy.

W hen I look at t he plat for m, legislation, and actions of Democrats, they are against most all of God’s commands. They are

demonizing anything Christian.

Today’s “Acceptable” Racism

he people of America are engulfed in a contentious discussion about racism. The recorded death of George Floyd under the knee of a Minneapolis police officer has been viewed by millions, and the public has responded by demanding an end to police brutality. Many individuals and organizations have embraced the slogan, “Black lives matter.”

Yet, as often happens in today’s politically divisive climate, some actions, such as police behavior, have been closely scrutinized, while others remain unexamined. But does our society mean what it says? Does it truly care about all black lives? Or is the present crisis merely being used to promote certain political agendas and signal

Planned Parenthood’s Eugenic Legacy Light was introduced into a dark corner recently, when a Planned Parenthood affiliate in Manhattan announced that it was removing the name of its founder, Margaret Sanger, from its building due to her ties to the eugenics movement. It has been well documented that Margaret Sanger’s motivation for promoting birth control was to prevent births from populations she considered less desirable.

Her mindset can be demonstrated by statements such as, “Eugenics without birth control seems to us a house built upon the sands. It is at the mercy of the rising stream of the unfit.” Today, Planned Parenthood is the largest supplier of abortion in the United States, and they continue Sanger’s eugenic legacy in their organizational practices.

Seventy-nine percent of Planned Parenthood’s abortion facilities are located within impoverished minority neighborhoods, and black women are disproportionately receiving abortions. Although they constitute only 12 percent of the population, they obtain 38 percent of the abortions. Black women have obtained approximately 20 million of the 65 million abortions that have occurred in the U.S. since abortion was widely legalized in 1973.

Poignantly, that is more than the entire U.S. black population at the time of the civil rights movement in the 1960s.

Today, there are 43 million black people in the U.S. Our country would have about 50 percent more black citizens if abortion had not ended the lives of so many black children prior to birth.

Was this eugenic result premeditated by those who promote abortion?

The Effect of Abortion on the Black Family Although rarely acknowledged by those proposing expansion of entitlement programs as the solution to racial inequality, most of the pathologies affecting black Americans can be directly traced to the breakdown of the black family. Only 25 percent of black children were born to unmarried mothers prior to abortion’s legalization, but today, 69 percent are born out of wedlock. More than 50 years of government welfare programs have proven to be a poor substitute for a stable family in the lives of black children.

How might readily accessible abortion have contributed to this change

in black families? The narrative of “her body, her choice” has apparently led many men to believe that the decision to bear a child belongs to the woman alone. The presence of another option may leave black men less inclined to marry the mother of their child if a pregnancy unintentionally occurs and she chooses to give birth. Additionally, many women who desire their children may be coerced into abortions by unwilling partners. Surely, black women do not aspire to raise their children alone, but their high abortion rates and unmarried childbirth rates provide evidence for the failure of many black men to fulfill their responsibilities as fathers.

Sociologic studies have consistently documented that a father’s presence in the home decreases a family’s poverty, the likelihood that the daughters will experience teen pregnancy, and the likelihood that the sons will resort to criminality. The large number of fatherless black children being raised by single mothers undoubtedly contributes to many of the problems plaguing the black community in America today: mass incarceration, gang violence, poverty, drug abuse, poor education, and unemployment.

Yet, little discussion is devoted to ways in which paternal involvement in black families could be promoted and prioritized.

What Do We Do Now?

. S. Lewis, in his book Mere Christianity (1952), writes at length about “moral law”.

The objective self-evident truth of the moral law adapted from their Biblical worldview and referred to in our foundational document of the Declaration of Independence by Thomas Jefferson as The Laws of Nature and Natures God. Remember, these objective Laws of Nature and Natures God also became the foundational principles of our Constitutional Republic Rule of Law and the Bill of Rights.

Paraphrasing, Lewis clarifies that The Laws of Nature and Natures God are specifically understood as The Laws of Human Nature and Human Natures God. Lewis goes on to say there are two things about the moral law that everyone knows. First, in their conscience, everyone knows that moral law exists. And second, everyone knows they have broken the moral law. Further reasoning, Lewis goes on to say that the moral law is the only one that can be disobeyed. We cannot “disobey” other laws of nature, such as math, gravity, etc. We must stay within their boundaries, their jurisdictions.

Both T homas Jefferson i n h is generation and C. S. Lewis in his generation knew that without this objective moral law, The Laws of Human Nature and Human Natures God, such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, there is no liberty. Without moral law, there is no liberty. Why? Because true liberty is found within the boundaries, the jurisdiction of our accepting our accountability to Human Natures God for our obeying or disobeying The Laws of Human Nature. Intentionally or unintentionally taking this

accountability to Human Natures God out of the objective moral law discernment decision making process at any level makes the “moral law” subjective to human nature.

Amoral. Unjust. Corrupt.

Now, objective moral law, morality with boundaries, jurisdictions becomes whatever unjust corrupt “human nature” makes and enforces it to be. These unjust corrupt ones believe erroneously that they are only accountable to themselves.

Themselves as god. With “Human Nature’s God” removed, for these unjust corrupt ones, the ends justify the means. By any means, they will steal, kill, and destroy all that comes between them, fulfilling their order to feed their unquenchable appetite for more power and control.

The progressive, socialist, subjective Democrat Party by resolution took God out of the Democrat Party Platform. And also took “under God” out of our United States of America Pledge of Allegiance.

Prior to November 3, 2020, it was becoming more apparent each

day that our American family was becoming more polarized by our crisis culture conflicting competing combatting factions than at any other time in our nation’s history.

In times past, what once would have been considered extreme unjust expressions of uncivilized disagreement and or disobedience became acceptable intentional destructive actions of the outright injustices of lawlessness. And it continues.

Their destructive actions of tyranny and lawlessness practiced both in private and public are relentlessly pursued with all-purpose and intent to destroy our American family liberty, freedom, independence, and sovereignty. And replace our “In God We Trust” Republican Party Platform supporting our Constitutional Republic Rule of Law capitalism with their “In Man We Trust” Democrat Party Platform supporting their democracy mob rule of law progressive socialism.

Unapologetically in defiance subjectively being the law unto themselves. And to which them and their commandments We the People

must obey.

Do not be deceived. For all of those with eyes to see, you know full well the reality of what is happening in our American family. However, there are those who were in denial of the true nature of the culture war between good and evil, taunting, tormenting, and trying our American family patience and good faith in relationship to one another.

Now, after the vote, the American family feud dividing lines have been clearly identified and stepped across for all to see. There are those of our American family who, as well as they understand it accepts the moral law of The Laws of Human Nature and Human Natures God and our accountability to them.

And those of our American family that denies The Laws of Human Nature and Human Natures God and our accountability to them. They do so to make themselves, their opinions, their secular worldview the subjective amoral rule of law. So, what do we do now? Stand Firm.

Regardless of which side of the line you are on, the vote only made the family division numerically clear.

The ideological convictions, values, worldviews, and resulting conflicts between the culturally warring parties are not going away. Whatever it takes, those of this generation who stand for what is rightfully good, just, and true must stand firm in all civility against those who stand foolishly in all incivility for what is wrongfully evil, unjust, and deceptive.

What Makes America Great

A

merica is a land of bountiful opportunity and freedom. It is a magnificent nation because it ensures its citizens individual freedoms and ample opportunity for success. The American experiment is unique in human history. It has resulted in liberty never seen before and in the highest standard of living ever achieved.

The very core of our nation, the Constitution, prioritizes the freedoms of the individual. The Bill of Rights assures us that every citizen deserves and shall receive fair and equal treatment from the government. As citizens, our rights and needs are protected and valued in this glorious country. The Constitution is amendable and conforms to the ever-expanding concepts of liberty.

Since America was first created, our ideals have changed for the better over time. The abolishment of slavery, the right for women to vote, and our education system have changed as we have become more informed. That makes America great.

America offers endless possibilities for those willing to work. The land of the free provides limitless chances for the pursuit of happiness. In America, as a non-stratified society, one can move from a lower class to a higher class simply because America values hard, honest work. If one is willing to work hard at something and passionate about the dream, one is sure to have opportunities to achieve success in the land of liberty. This is what makes America great.

This country is heavily rooted in freedom. Thomas Jefferson, an author of the Constitution, set up a system of laws to secure individual liberty and free enterprise. The idea that the government should only step in and be involved in economic affairs where it is needed and nowhere else. We have

organizations such as the Food and Drug Administration and the Securities and Exchange Commission which safeguard our food, health and economic vitality. But other than such necessary protection, the government stays out of our business and livelihoods. Business owners control how they want to conduct business. We are the captains of our own lives. That makes America great.

There have been many great Americans help us to become the great nation we are today. Eli Whitney is remembered as the inventor of the cotton gin.

Harriet Tubman became known as the “Moses of her people” as she helped others gain their freedom through the Underground Railroad. Aviation pioneers Orville and Wilbur Wright expanded our world by building and flying the world’s first successful airplane. Thousands of women joined the workforce to support the war effort in World War II. Medical innovations such as the polio vaccine developed

by Jonas Salk helped not only America, but the world to become a better place. Sally Ride was an astronaut and physicist and became the first American woman in space. These and other Americans make America great.

In addition, many immigrants came to America and contributed to the wonderful nation we are today. Nikola

Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor who contributed to the design of the modern electricity supply. Albert Einstein was German born but lived in America and his work influenced the philosophy of science. Henry Kissinger was an American politician and diplomat who served as the U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor to Presidents Nixon and Ford. These and many other immigrants helped America to become great.

All the previous cases are magnificent examples as to why America is a great nation. But is there any better an illustration than the men and women who serve in the military for our many freedoms? The list is endless: Audie Murphy, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Norman Schwarzkopf, Colin Powell, Eileen Collins, Kyle Carpenter and Chris Kyle.

Each of these heroic Americans chose to put themselves between our enemies and our freedoms. These people make America great.

Because of all these freedoms, America is by nature a country full of confident, independent people. America consists almost entirely of hard-working leaders. The previous examples are well-known Americans beloved and admired by many. But one must also applaud the everyday American who day in and day out brings the American dream to life. That makes America great and I’m proud to be an American.

Sanctuary City for the Unborn Leader Given Prestigious Award every corner of the state of Texas.

This year, the Republican Party of Texas added a plank to the platform supporting cities passing enforceable ordinances outlawing abortion. Thus, it can be said that opposing the Sanctuary City for the Unborn Initiative means one stands in opposition to the Republican Party of Texas.

Mayor Pope says he’s pro-life and that he strives to be fiscally responsible. Additionally, he has been really concerned with the United States Constitution since the presentation of the ordinance.

Rep. Burrows, in a tweet, said, “So, the Mayor of Lubbock had no reservation closing churches and gun stores; however, he is all of a sudden worried about the Constitution when Planned Parenthood is threatened. . . . What a farse!”

People of Lubbock, Government of Lubbock, listen to our conservative leaders or give good reasons to oppose them.

t seems that the local Lubbock mayor (Dan Pope) and the City Council refuse to listen to the advice of Texas Senators and Representatives. Senator Charles Perry and Representatives John Frullo and Dustin Burrows presented an ordinance to the city council that would outlaw abortion within Lubbock city limits. Without getting too much into the weeds, the Texas State Legislature reaffirmed cities’ ability to regulate and outlaw abortion at the most recent session (see Senate Bill 22).

Additionally, former Solicitor General Jonathan Mitchell offered support of the ordinance by providing free legal aid to the City of Lubbock. Fu r thermore, the Republican Party of the State of Texas is unequivocally pro-life, something Mayor Pope claims to be. The Mayor and the Lubbock City Council refuse to listen to the wiser, more experienced, and more prestigious statesmen.

There is one more very important person that the City Council to whom will not lend its ear: Pa stor M a rk L ee D ickson, t he founder of the Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn Initiative. You’ve probably heard his name if you’ve been following the pro-life scene in Lubbock. He probably even has an article in the paper. However, here is something you might not have heard.

On Saturday, October 10th, Pastor Dickson was honored with a very prestigious award. East Texans for Liberty presented Dickson with the Liberty Award. Former awardees include Senator Ted Cruz, JoAnn Fleming, State Senator Bryan Hughes, and State Senator Bob Hall. Dickson was given the Liberty Award for spearheading the

Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn movement, which is consistent w ith East Texans for Liberty’s mission statement: The mission and purpose of East Texans for Liberty is to affect public policy at local, state, and national levels consistent with the core values of constitutionally limited government, fiscal responsibility, and free markets, to attract, educate, organize, and activate people of all ages to become involved in civic affairs, preserve these va lues th roug h pol itica l action, and to work cooperatively with other like-minded groups.

Former Governor of Texas Rick Perry was the keynote speaker at

the address. He joined in a standing ovation for Dickson when he received the Liberty Award. According to Dickson, Former Gov. Perry went out of his way to give him words of encouragement regarding his crucial work across the State of Texas “It was a great honor,” Dickson said when asked for a comment.

“This award belongs not just to me, but to every mayor and every city council member who has stood up with their people and passed an ordinance outlawing abortion declaring once and for all time that babies will never be murdered by abortion in their cities.”

it’s contrary to Texas Law. • Objection #2: The proposed ordinance conflicts with state law because the state regulates abortions, including who may perform them, where they may be performed, and when they may be performed, and the proposed ordinance imposes additional regulations inconsistent with those state regulations.

• Objection #3: The Texas Constitution prohibits a city from passing an ordinance’ inconsistent with the laws of the state.”

• Objection #4: The proposed ordinance conflicts with state law because it creates offenses for some actions permitted or licensed by the state. The Texas Constitution prohibits this.

Despite the objections raised by the City Council and Olson & Olson, the “Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn” ordinance, if enacted, would be consistent with Texas law. Under the section entitled “Findings,” the ordinance states, “The State of Texas has never repealed its preRoe v. Wade statutes that outlaw and criminalize abortion unless the mother’s life is in danger,” and, “After the Supreme Court announced its opinion in Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S.

See West’s Texas Civil Statutes, Article 4512.1 (1974).”

The ordinance continues to state, “The Supreme Court’s judgment in Roe v. Wade did not cancel or formally revoke the Texas statutes that outlaw and criminalize abortion, and the judiciary has no power to erase a statute that it believes to be unconstitutional.” In support of this argument, Pidgeon v. Turner (Tex. 2017) is quoted, “When a court declares a law unconstitutional, the law remains in place unless and until the body that enacted it repeals it.”

The Lubbock ordinance continues, “The Supreme Court’s pronouncements in Roe v. Wade and subsequent cases may limit the ability of state officials to impose penalties on those who violate the Texas abortion statutes, but they do not veto or erase the statutes themselves, which continue to exist as the law of Texas until they are repealed by the legislature that enacted them.

The state’s temporary inability to prosecute or punish those who violate its abortion statutes on account of Roe v. Wade does not change the fact that abortion is still defined as a criminal act under Texas law.”

The laws of the State of Texas are the basis for this ordinance.

These laws have not been repealed.

The ordinance states, “The Texas murder statute defines the crime of ‘murder’ to include any act that ‘intentionally or knowingly causes the death’ of ‘an unborn child at every stage of gestation from fertilization until birth.’” This can be found in Texas Penal Code § 19.02; Texas Penal Code § 1.07. The ordinance

explains, “Although the statute exempts ‘lawful medical procedures’ from the definition of murder, see Texas Penal Code § 19.06(2), abortion is not a ‘lawful medical procedure’ under Texas law unless the life of the mother is in danger, see West’s Texas Civil Statutes, Article 4512.1 (1974).”

To say that the Lubbock ordinance is contrary to state law is not a good enough argument. Not when we are, left and right, quoting state law as our basis. According to the Texas Municipal League, “Home rule cities derive their power from the Constitution and look to the Legislature only as a limit on that authority and may do anything that is not specifically prohibited by state law.” The city of Lubbock is a “Home Rule” city. Nothing mentioned in this ordinance is inconsistent with the laws of the state of Texas.

Additionally, the 2019 Legislative Session gave us Senate Bill 22. This bill prohibited tax dollars from funding abortion providers and their affiliates at both the state and local level. This bill also contained an amendment that specifically clarified that the bill did not prohibit cities and counties from prohibiting abortion within their jurisdiction.

The Lubbock ordinance states, “T he City Cou nci l of Lubbock finds it necessary to supplement these existing state-law prohibitions on abortion-murder with its own prohibitions on abortion, and to empower city officials and private citizens to enforce these prohibitions to the maximum extent permitted by state law and the Constitution. See Tex. Local Gov’t Code §§ 54.001(b)(1); 54.004.”

The Lubbock ordinance states, “To protect the health and welfare of all residents within the City of Lubbock, including the unborn, the City Council finds it necessary to outlaw abortion under city law and

to establish penalties and remedies as provided in this ordinance. See Tex. Local Gov’t Code §§ 54.001(b) (1); 54.004.” This is in the city’s wheelhouse.

It is also worth considering the testimony of a pro-life leader in Waco, Texas, who has something to contribute to this discussion.

John Pisciotta, a former professor from Baylor University and the Director of Pro-Life Waco, has known of the Olson families for many years and is very familiar with one of their attorneys.

“The Olson & Olson law firm out of Houston has a bias regarding abortion. Art Pertile is involved in this counsel to the city of Lubbock.

Pertile was the Waco city attorney in 2004 when Waco crafted an ordinance designed to shut down sidewalk counseling at the Waco Planned Parenthood abortion facility.” Pisciotta continued, “We challenged Pertile’s anti-pro-life ordinance at the state and federal levels. In 2006 the fifth circuit court of appeals struck down Pertile’s ordinance as An unconstitutional violation of free speech. The city of Waco had to pay $30,000 to our attorneys. Pertile has been wrong before!”

Senator Charles Perry, Representatives John Frullo, and Dustin Burrows all support this ordinance.

Additionally, former Solicitor General Jonathan Mitchell offered free legal counsel and representation for the City of Lubbock, of which the city has failed to take advantage.

We have historical precedent, legal ability, and moral justification for this ordinance.

In a simple conclusion, Mayor and Councilmen, do what is right.

the city of Morton. “I believe that we are all created by God that no one has the right to take a life. That life begins at conception. There are court opinions saying it is legal to have an abortion, Roe v Wade for example. I also read in our founding documents, the Declaration of Independence, that we are all entitled to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Is life less important today than it was in 1776? If a pregnant woman is murdered, the killer is charged with double homicide, as in the case of Lacy Peterson and many others.

Mayor K im Silhan continued, “Life begins at conception, period. Science backs up my beliefs, and aren’t we preached to daily by the media to listen to the science? Most importantly, my Father and his Holy Word back me up.

In Exodus 20:13, it says, “Thou shalt not murder� It’s not excusable to stay silent and not speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Councilman Buckie Dobson gave an equally powerful speech before the mayor, his fellow council members, and the city of Morton. “My faith in God has led me to believe that life is the most important thing we have and that we should protect our children, especially the children that can’t speak for themselves.�

Councilman Dobson continued, “We are staking the ground here right now. That we will not stand for something like this to come into our community, we are putting a barrier, a fence around our town here, saying, this will not happen in Morton. We will stand up for the kids in this town. We will stand up so they can grow up and become adults and become future leaders of this

town, this state, and of this nation.�

Morton business owner Scotty Simpson was thankful for the unanimous 4-0 vote by the city council. “We are so very proud of our mayor and city council for the passing of a n ord ina nce to protect the unborn. We believe God will bless our community, in every way, anytime we take a stand against the evil that has invaded our country.�

The City of Morton will, most certainly, not be the last city to outlaw abor tion. On T uesday, October 13th, the citizens of Lubbock, Texas (Population 278,831) filed 5,695 petition signatu res with the City of Lubbock; 5,070 of which were personally verified by a verification team consisting of members from West Texas For Life, Right to Life of East Texas, Pro-Life Waco, Young Conservatives at Texas Tech, and Raiders

Defending Life at Texas Tech. The number of signatures they needed to “force the vote� was 3,651 verified signatures. Under rules of the City Charter of Lubbock, as long as 3,651 of the 5,695 signatures which were filed are found to be valid by the City of Lubbock, the City Council will have to vote on the proposed ordinance. Not that it matters in this light, but it is as if you think the other option is not ruthlessly deceitful and power-hungry but only has one flaw - just wants to kill these babies.

“The Equality Act” will demand churches, synagogues, Christian schools, businesses, etc. to hire and treat with equal status and honor activities without reservation any LGBTQ Identifying persons.

This lifestyle/identity clearly and directly defies instructive biblical teaching. The government would hold authority over our religious leadership requirements and, ultimately, our stated theology of belief in divinely mandated adherence to scripture. This would

lead to civil penalty ruin of any resistance to government mandated practice of religion then eventually criminal prosecution and imprisonment of bible believing Christians. Some federal judges are all that stand partially in the gap at the moment, even without the passage of this act. Stacking of a liberal supreme court with the judges who already rule against Christian liberties would be total imposition of political screening of religion, thus government being the supreme authority of religion requiring religion to its bidding.

Vice president Biden vowed to make passing this bill his top priority from his first day in office in a speech in August. Any moral dilemma here really confuses me!

It is clear that Christ’s followers are to walk boldly, faithfully, and unwavering in every form of Government or Societal oppression or

abuse. Christians are by far the most persecuted faith on our planet, from ruthless killing, raping, burning, or imprisoning currently common in Iran along with a large portion of the Middle East, Africa, and now India, to imprisonment, economic exclusion, and sudden “disappearances” of Christians in China.

We are not dependent on the government to walk with our God, but our freedoms and livelihoods are.

An Anti-Biblical, Anti-Christian Society movement i n t he USA would not be unique in the world, but in God’s K ingdom could be quite painful for those we love.

then concepts such as right and wrong become fuzzy and somewhat intangible. There is no concrete or absolute definition as the concept is fluid and moves along unseen scales, and comprises degrees on a fictitious scale. This has and is leading to the absolute abolition of the idea of decency.

As defined above, decency can be thought of as conforming to accepted standards of morality and respectability. Judging by what we’ve seen happening in the streets of America from coast to coast with STOP BEING SILENT CONTINUED FROM PAGE 10

Susan frow ned and asked the same thing about several of our neighbors (all of whom support the president). Her frown morphed into a baffled shake of the head.

“Well, you guys aren’t racists or bigots or anything like that!”

“Why would you ever think we would be?”

“Well, Trump supports white supremacy, and he’s a racist,” she announced before repeating the “good people on both sides” Charlottesville lie. “I’m confused why

endless nights of rioting and mobs inflicting damage and chaos upon anything in their path, decency and civility are the last things on their minds. And what of the media or the leaders on the left? What is their response to this lack of civility and decency? Typically, it is to spin, twist, and manipulation of facts. We are told that the rioting mobs are “mostly peaceful” despite seeing riots with our own eyes.

In other words, they lie to us to excuse this lack of decency demonstrated by out of control mobs.

If those engaged in riots are even charged, they are typically bailed

out by supporters who contribute to vast caches of money used to defend them. Sports figures, actors, and even politicians contribute to such funds to help those who are burning, destroying, and even murdering anyone and anything in their path.

We are witnessing the death of decency, civility, and anything that ca n even be constr ued as “Normal”. We are told that such activities, ideas, concepts, and worldview are the “New Normal”.

If this is true and we cannot go back from what we are told is to be our “New Normal”, then I will

reject it with every fiber of my being. I will not sit idly by and watch the destruction of our way of life at the hands of fanatics who wish to utterly destroy the America, which has been established, built, and worked so incredibly wonderfully for over two hundred and forty years.

My wife stopped walking. “Susan, he has a Jewish son-in-law, Jewish daughter, and Jewish grandchildren. Do you really think he is a Nazi?”

Her mouth dropped open. “He does not! Seriously?” This college-educated woman was not even aware of those basic facts.

Next, my wife patiently explained why the Charlottesville meme is an outright lie. Susan dismissed her explanation as untrue. My wife made her a bet: “Will you read the transcript of Trump’s interview or listen to the actual full audio for yourself?” She agreed she would do so.

An hour later, an agitated Susan was at our front door. “You’re

right. He didn’t say that.” The two sat on the front steps and talked for more than an hour about Trump’s record, the riots, the Russian collusion hoax, and much more.

After several more walks, long ta l ks, a nd a lot of read i ng a nd listening, Susan finally agreed the stereotypes she had so firmly believed about conservatives and Trump supporters for years were the result of living in a liberal-Leftist bubble, watching one news channel, and parroting what she had been told.

“How do you know so much about liberals and democrats?” she asked the other day.

“Because we conservatives are smothered with left-wing politics all day—in movies, newspapers,

TV, school, advertisements—we can’t get away from it. But liberals—like you, Susan—have to seek out conservative ideas or you never hear them.”

That really got her to thinking.

“Honestly, I’ve never thought of it that way.”

The next morning Susan told my wife, “I no longer hate Trump, a n d n o w I h a ve c o n s e r v a t ive church-going friends!” she laughed before assuming a more serious tone. “But you know what’s sad?

I told one of my friends from San Jose, and she yelled at me on the phone and hung up. Today she defriended me on Facebook.”

I read this morning that President Trump said, “If Biden wins, maybe I’ll have to leave the country.” My response is the same to our President as it is to the celebrities on the left ... “Go!” If President Trump loses the election, I don’t care where he lives, if he leaves the White House in an orderly and peaceful transition... and I believe he will.

I’m not an America, “Love it or leave it” kind of guy, but these kinds of threats from entertainers have grown tiring, and I believe, ineffective.

We assume Bruce lives somewhere in New Jersey, but we really don’t know. I always assume Streisand is somewhere in California, but it doesn’t matter to us where they live.

Does their address impact our lives in any way?

The point is that this exposes the false sense of influence and power entertainers believe they hold over our lives. Arrogance is never attractive. I think entertainers who become activists become less popular in their genre and often have the opposite impact on the public. Think not? Ask the “Dixie Chicks.”

I think comedian, Michael Loftus, said it best. “They really think they’re that important,” he said. “They really think we’re walking around going, ‘Wait, what? Springsteen’s going to leave? And Tommy Lee? Oh, I’m but are not lost cause Leftists, STOP BEING SILENT. Talk to them patiently, respectfully, honestly, and in earnest as if your country depends on it.

So, what’s positive about this?

I believe if we love our country, we will not let the results of an election chase us out. We stay and work hard because we believe in our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution, and the Bill of Rights, and we realize the importance of our nation in the balance of the world.

The American people will vote on November 3 based upon their beliefs and not because an entertainer threatened. Even though I don’t always agree, I always trust the voting public’s will and the power of our system. I believe the right person for the job is usually selected, and when mistakes are made, we can make a correction in four years. And during those four years, we have a system of checks and balances that can keep things from going horribly wrong.

The brilliance of our Founding Fathers still shines through after almost two-hundred and fifty years.

Vote. Make your choice heard. Don’t threaten anyone. Don’t lose friends.

Don’t damage family relationships.

Because half the nation, and many people you know and love, may feel and vote differently, it doesn’t make them wrong. It certainly doesn’t make them your enemy. I’ve always been a Streisand fan. I’ll still listen to Springsteen’s music wherever he lives.

Rather than being angry over politics, let’s celebrate the incredible opportunity that the American system provides. And once the final votes are counted, and the selection is made... let’s accept the will of the American people and move forward together.

wealth in the world and nations had to seize their share to grow more prosperous.

It relied on force and colonies.

Additionally, it relied on hefty tariffs with outside nations, thus limiting trade. Citizens could trade with other members of their nation and their nation’s colonies but couldn’t trade efficiently with other nations. That hampered economic growth but made sense to supporters of mercantilism because everything was a zero-sum game. Without those vices, few countries could be prosperous in the age of mercantilism. But some countries were able to. How did they do so, a nd do so mora lly?

Through capitalism and the virtue of capitalism.

The Advent of Capitalism: From those two evil systems rose capitalism. Holland experimented with it. Adam Smith wrote about free markets and the invisible hand of the market. The fledgling United States took Smith’s ideas and the example of small capitalist nations and ran with those ideas. Our leaders, men like Hamilton and Washington, recognized the importance of a monetary system and how it would help others see the virtue of capitalism, so they made it one of their defining accomplishments in the early American Republic.

Thomas Jefferson was pushing for an agricultural state and a system of small republics. Hamilton recognized that the agricultural system pushed forward by Jefferson relied on slavery and called Jefferson out on that. True capitalism couldn’t exist alongside slavery and its evils. His commercial system, however, did not rely on slavery. Instead, it relied on finance, stability, and entrepreneurial spirit. That’s why his system won - it made more sense, took advantage

of capitalism’s virtue, and was obviously more successful.

With a way to issue bonds, raise funds, and allow a financial system to thrive, America quickly rose in prominence and importance.

Capitalism is the system that led to that success, and the virtue of capitalism provides the moral backbone for it. Capitalism and finance allowed the building of the Transcontinental Railroad and many other accomplishments of the Gilded Age. They are, therefore, what vaulted us into worldwide prominence. Now our financial system is the top one in the world, and our economy is the largest. That wouldn’t have happened without capitalism and the virtue of capitalism.

The Morality of Capitalism shows the Virtue of Capitalism: So now that we’ve established capitalism’s credentials as a sound system, why is it so moral? It is moral because it is a system that doesn’t take advantage of anyone by force.

Yes, sometimes people feel like they have been taken advantage of by capitalism. Usually, when they’re sold a bad product or struggle under crushing debt. But that’s not a product of the capitalist system that we have. Those are the products of a few bad actors or a misunderstanding by some of how debt works. And here’s a counterpoint to those situations no one forced anyone to buy a bad product or take on too much debt.

That was a self-inflicted problem.

If we were a communist nation, then perhaps people would be forced to buy awful products. But since we have free markets, people can buy whatever they might like.

I’m trying to convey that capitalism is a moral system because it is built on liberty and consent.

“Laissez faire” is the French term that has been associated with it since the American Revolution. That term SEE THE VIRTUE OF CAPITALISM | PAGE 31

is perfect as a summary because it means “free to do.”

Under a capitalist, free-market system, people are free to do whatever they may want with their money and can earn it however they want.

That is the virtue of capitalism.

There are no state-ordered jobs or gulags if they don’t comply. Instead, they can do what they like and how they like it to earn money and spend or save that money. That is the virtue of capitalism, and I can’t imagine a system more moral than that.

The Conflict between Capitalism and Socialism: Socialism forcibly takes your money away, as does communism.

But under a capitalist system, you can do whatever you might like with your money. That dichotomy is shown well in Atlas Shrugged.

In Atlas Shrugged, America is becoming a socialist state because of bureaucrats.

The government is continually implementing burdensome regulations, and productive citizens struggle to cope with the new rules, taxes, and regulations. The socialist state created by corrupt businessmen and bought-off politicians is a hellish one.

However, in the book, there is a place for productive citizens where the full benefits of capitalism are shown. I can’t say any more about it without spoiling the book, but that place reserved exclusively for capitalists does an excellent job of showing the dichotomy between socialism and capitalism, the virtue of capitalism, and why capitalism and freedom lead to societal success.

Socialists today call their system the moral one. They want to take your money to feed and house the poor. Or take your money to provide free college for everyone. Or any

www.CaprockPatriot.com other harebrained scheme meant only to buy votes by expanding the welfare state, not to be practical.

However, at the core of their beliefs is the desire to take your money by force and redistribute it to the lazy and unproductive members of society. They call that desire “moral” or “humane”. I call it an evil impulse that spits on the virtue of capitalism.

The virtue of capitalism is that it is predicated on liberty, choice, and consent. You can buy what you want when you want, as long as you have enough money. And more importantly, in my opinion, you can work and earn money how you please.

Your job is determined by what job you can get based on your skills, qualifications, and the consent of both you and the business owner or hiring manager.

The government doesn’t tell you where to work or how much you will be paid - that is based on your negotiating skill. And no employer can keep you if you want to leave.

Slavery, the bedrock of mercantilism and feudalism, is gone. It and the other vices of those systems have been replaced with something infinitely better- consent. And consent is what is behind the virtue of capitalism.

Conclusion: This has been a long article; thanks for reading to the end. This article is so long because I wanted to really show what the virtue of capitalism is. As a summary, that virtue is consent. Because of consent, capitalism has meant freedom and liberty for everyone that lives under a free market, capitalist society. Sadly, America has started to shift away from capitalism.

Like Europe, we have become a regulatory state dominated by the few big businesses that can pay to find ways to deal with the regulations. That atmosphere goes directly against capitalism, which relies

on innovation and entrepreneurs to be successful. Economic growth requires those two things. Without them, our economy will stagnate, and big businesses will dominate us even more. So, what is the solution? Cut the regulations and taxes.

Let small businesses survive. They can’t survive the current regulatory environment. They can survive and even thrive, in a laissez-faire environment. Bring back that environment, the environment that takes advantage of the virtue of capitalism.

I hope this article did a good job of showing why capitalism is moral, especially compared to the other systems. Feudalism relied on a complex system of authority, serfs tied to the land like slaves, and violence.

Mercantilism relied on colonization, slavery, and tariffs. Socialism and communism rely on the redistribution of wealth away from the

productive and to the leeches in society, and prison camps for anyone who disagrees. Socialism and communism are the evilest of any other system.

But capitalism shines through.

Free markets mean trade, wealth, and economic growth for all countries involved. Entrepreneurial spirit means constant innovation and job creation. Economic growth and innovation mean increased prosperity. The virtue of capitalism is that its backbone is consent, and because of that, it creates a free society. That free society is infinitely better than any society created by socialism, feudalism, or mercantilism. Capitalism is great!

women surrounding pregnancy and childbirth. This has been simplistically attributed to “systemic racism,” but few are aware that the 3.3-fold increased rate of maternal mortality in black women compared to white women mirrors the 3.6-fold increased rate of abortion. Limiting the discussion to racism ignores other factors exacerbated by abortion that contribute to maternal mortality.

Poverty is a risk factor for failure to obtain appropriate medical care and may contribute to this racial disparity. Only five percent of married couples live in poverty, so the extremely high rate of single black mothers undoubtedly contributes to their poor outcomes. Risk factors for pregnancy complications such as obesity, hypertension, and diabetes occur more commonly in black than

www.CaprockPatriot.com white women. There may be genetic reasons for this, but poverty is also associated with these high-risk conditions. Pregnancies complicated by these co-morbidities are more likely to lead to C-section delivery, which has a far higher mortality rate.

Regardless of financial status, giving birth and caring for a child without a partner places a woman at an obvious disadvantage. If she should become ill during pregnancy or in the postpartum period, she may be unable or unwilling to seek emergency care due to a lack of social support, childcare, or transportation.

Black women more commonly have later abortions (13 percent) than white women (9 percent). The risk of death from abortion increases by 38 percent every week after eight weeks gestation.

Thus, deaths directly related to physical complications of later abortions are increased in black women.

of Abortion Adverse mental health outcomes, such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse, high risk-taking behavior, and suicide, are increased after abortion.

These are common causes of “deaths of despair” in the black community.

Black women are also more likely to be the victims of violence, often from their intimate partners.

In addition to the immediate physical risks of abortion, there are long-term complications that increase a woman’s risk of death in a subsequent pregnancy. Forcibly opening a cervix that is designed to remain closed until natural childbirth may result in cervical trauma and cervical incompetence in future pregnancies, often leading to preterm birth. Black women are documented to have higher preterm birth rates, leading to much suffering for their children from the complications of prematurity. Obstetric interventions for the management of preterm birth can lead to mortality from infections or medication toxicity.

And finally, instrumental trauma to the uterus, which may occur during a surgical abortion, can cause faulty adherence of the placenta in a subsequent pregnancy, leading to premature placental separation or placental invasion into the cervix, uterine wall, or adjacent organs. There has been a 110-fold increase in “Placental Accreta Spectrum” since 1950, which can cause catastrophic hemorrhage at the time of delivery, a common cause of maternal deaths.

A Disproportionate Tragedy Clearly, abortion has disproportionately affected the black community, leading to a decrease in their population numbers as well as many adverse consequences to women and children.

Many of the pathologies affecting the black community can be at least partly attributed to the breakdown in families and the absence of paternal involvement, facilitated by abortion.

Mental health complications in black women, leading to deaths of despair, can be caused by abortion. Immediate

pregnancy complications, especially from dangerous late-term abortions, as well as complications in subsequent pregnancies, such as preterm delivery and abnormal placentation, may also lead to maternal morbidity and mortality.

Is our country ready to have this hard conversation? Many people who claim to despise racism also believe abortion should be readily available to women in any situation. Are we ready to talk about how widespread abortion in the black population has become an “acceptable” form of racism in the U.S. today?

Special Forces: Training to Free the Oppressed, Part IV

he fourth story of an 11-part series sharing the very personal story of one Long Range Recon Green Beret and his time in Special Forces training.

What the sorry bas---ds did was put ten stakes in a circle of a foot in diameter for our Map - Land Navigation exercise. The stakes were three inches apart. There was no way anyone could achieve a compass path over a quarter of a mile within three inches.

I was upset. I hate being cheated by anything or anyone. Ralph was different; he didn’t care. He was there to become a doctor; nothing else mattered to him.

Ralph saw and heard my frustration, “Calm down, Wayne. They never intended anyone to find their correct final stake. The only thing that matters is the first nine stakes. We found ours.”

Then to add more injury to my hurting pride, “You have to admit Wayne, it was genius.” Then he laughed. If he had grinned, thrown his arms wide with two thumbs up, I would have killed him with my bare hands right there.

We debated what number to put down. I picked a number and wrote it on my sheet. Ralph started laughing and started writing down all the numbers as a joke.

Ralph was the only one to make 100% on the compass course. Here is the logic behind the final stake. When you write down a single number, you cannot prove that single number is correct. When you write down all of the numbers of the ten stakes, YOU CAN PROVE the correct number is in the group. The logic of the tenth stake number is that no single number is the COMPLETE correct number.

Think outside the box.

Where all of my previous training and activities had been as a group

effort with everyone involved, Special Forces was based and focused on each individual, therefore as individuals, we were scheduled for equipment issue, medical, dentist, etc.

The bulletin board had me scheduled for a dental checkup at 0800 one morning. I went and had the checkup, then reported to the Mess Hall Corporal to catch a ride with the food trucks taking food to the field troops.

I was in the back and put my web gear harness on the seat beside me.

As the deuce and half (2 ½ ton truck) rolled over the dirt back roads, my harness bounced to the canvas edge of the truck and fell between the canvas and the truck hitting the road below. I immediately stuck my head through a little opening and into the cab of the truck.

I told them my gear had fallen off the truck. I then watched my gear fade in

the distance because the Corporal told the driver to keep driving. For a week, I had no gear. Every instructor asked me about not having my gear. I told them my story.

After sitting in the outdoors bleachers for two days, in the rain and without a poncho or raincoat, a Major put me in his jeep and took me to supply to be issued new gear. They wrote down the cost of each item; $318.68 in total. I swallowed hard. That was my months’ pay.

The Major then took me to the military court, where I told my story in the Court Marshall of the Corporal not turning back for my gear. I turned over the equipment cost sheet to the court when asked for it.

The Major took me back to the bleachers to continue the class on explosive shape charges. I later heard through the ‘grapevine’ that the

Corporal was busted to Private and shipped directly to a Vietnam combat unit. I don’t know if he lived or died; I didn’t care.

Two weeks later, I went to the medic because I had caught pneumonia from sitting in the rain with no poncho. I was given shots and pills and sent back to duty. In the hallway, on my way out of the building, I saw Sims in a wheelchair being pushed by a Sergeant. Sims seemed overjoyed to see me. We had not seen Sims in the dorm room for three days, but we didn’t think anything about it because we all had been away on training overnight.

For two days, I suffered ill health while attending classes; but I stuck it out.

At 0300, I was awakened by the First Sergeant of training and two MPs. I was getting dressed while the First Sergeant tore my locker apart.

He went through everything. He even unrolled all my inspection cardboard t-shirts.

He opened a drawer and saw my three and a half-inch bladed knife, with real pearl handles. I had traded for that knife when I was 12 years old.

He said, “Well, well, what have we here, Private Hamlin?”

“Sergeant, we are allowed knives with a blade of four inches are less.”

“Private, I know the regulations.

I do not need a Private telling me regulations.”

I sat in the First Sergeant office at Headquarters from 0300 until 0800 when the Major (the same one who helped me get my gear back) came in.

I then sat there until 0900 while the Major had coffee and talked on the phone with his wife.

Just Be There!

T

his story, true or not, has been circulated before. But the message is important and worth revisiting.

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside. “Your son is here,” she said to the old man. She had to repeat the words several times before the patient’s eyes opened.

Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent.

He reached out his hand. The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man’s limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement.

interrogated me for two hours on Sims. He seemed to grow frustrated when he began to realize that I knew nothing about Sims.

The First Sergeant typed up the report. I read it and signed it. I had all of that hell just because I had said hello to Sims, who was not only selling drugs but using as well. He had overdosed; that was why he was in the hospital.

I never got my knife back. I was told that when I complete my training,

T he nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man’s hand and offering him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused.

Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank, the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients. Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. it would be returned to me. It never was.

I had gotten the k n i fe from a 92-year-old man that had employed my Dad. The old man had outlived all of his six kids. He befriended me because of my intense interest in the mountain men. He traded me that knife for the pocketknife in my pocket, but he made me give my word that I would keep the pearl-handled knife as long as I lived. Then to trade it to some young person who loved the history of the mountain men when the time came.

The dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse.

While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her, “Who was that man?” he asked.

The nurse was startled, “He was your father,” she answered.

“No, he wasn’t,” the Marine replied. “I never saw him before in my life.”

“T hen why d id n’t you say I gave my word. A fter we had traded, the old man told me that his father (as a youth) had traded for the knife from Kit Carson (famous mountain man) at a mountain man trade gathering on the rolling plains north of the Colorado Rockies. I like to believe that the story was true.

Ralph and I now had the dorm room all to ourselves. He sneaked Liz into the dorm room several times, but I said nothing. Heck, the rules also said no smoking or drinking in the room.

n October 5, 2020, The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office hosted the 7th Annual Friends of Law Enforcement Golf Tournament to benefit the Sheriff’s Employee Association and the Lubbock’s Purple Heart Chapter.

The event, held at Lake Ridge Country Club, raised enough money to donate $6,000 that will benefit the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 0900 here in Lubbock.

We are so thankful to Sheriff Kelly Rowe and all those that contributed towards making this year’s golf tournament a success.

The generous donation will be used to support local Veterans in need, as identified by the local Commanders and in coordination with the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office.

That Pesky Integrity Thing: Things that go bump in the night.

I f you a re prone to f rea k-out, avoid getting stationed on a U.S. Navy ship. These steel behemoths groan, creak, shudder, and make all kinds of weird noise as they ply rolling seas. I wrote about this in detail in my December 2018 article when I discussed a kind of glue for any ship.

On any ship, watertight integrity is top priority. Maintaining watertight integrity simply means maintaining every aspect of the ship to prevent sinking. This is where I learned integrity means keeping it together, not just the sh ip but a l l t h i ngs for a complete life. Leading up to the USS Forrestal assignment, the Navy thoroughly trained me in air-toa i r g u ided m issi le tech nolog y.

In addition, we were trained on shipboard basics aboard the “USS Never-sail”. Navy vets will know all about the USS Never-sail. The reality is every officer and crew have many duties beyond his primary skill. As you can imagine, a biggie is not sinking the ship.

All crew members quickly learn watertight integrity. Keeping it together is everyone’s job. Of the hundreds of life lessons from the Forrestal, integrity ranks at the top few. I believe this is where I realized, in life, we all have an integrity responsibility to ourselves and others.

Just as the lowest crew member can endanger the entire ship, a self-serving electorate can sink the country as a whole.

arxism is infecting America and, as predicted, is now our guns’ and liberty’s greatest enemy. The 2020 election is turning out to be the deciding vote for or against communism in America.

The biggest threat to your fundamental right – your right to keep and bear arms – may not be what you’ve always feared. It may not be new laws. The risk may not even be from the two main political parties, though they both need constant watching, as Thomas Jefferson and the Founding Fathers warned.

No, the threat may be coming from something we were keenly alerted to back in the 1950s and 1960s, which we’ve grown inured to, bored with, discarded onto history’s trash heap.

We may have forgotten it as a gunsand-ammo threat, but it’s still there.

As alive as ever, active as ever, working its nefarious magic, seeking to take every gun you own, every round of ammunition you possess, either by direct force or through subversive covert action. That enemy is our old friendly villain, Marxism, and communism.

Marxism and Communism Marxism and communism are now in control of fully one-third of the world’s population and making inroads here in the USA. Mass media,

infected with that scourge, is not alerting us. They hide it, disguise it, aiding and abetting a mortal enemy of our Constitutional Republic.

reetings! What a month this has been. I hope you have remained vigilant and thoughtful since our last discussion and have grown in your ability to be an intentional and effective protector, more capable in your ability to “show up” when the time comes for you to do so.

Before we begin our next conversation and more as a side note, I hope that in some way, you have grown in your ability to show up and be present in the different dimensions of your Life. If you recall, earlier this year, we discussed the topic of Life and how we ought to more effectively and efficiently live it out. I pray that despite the trials of this year, you have been able to accomplish this goal. Speaking of your ability to “show up” and our broader conversation on the Second Amendment’s roles, equipment, and responsibilities, I want us to arrive at our next stop in the discussion. Today, I want to talk about night vision and what we

can learn from it, and why I think they should be considered more “uniform” for regular citizens.

First, for you who may not know, night vision goggles (or NVG’s) are pieces of equipment that allow you to see in the dark. That’s a very simplified summary, but you get the picture. There are many different setups from all sorts of manufacturers with different styles and technology available in the market, and I encourage you to do your research on the topic. On just a quick note for the YouTubers out there… the channels Warrior Poet Society, Trex Arms, and Garand Thumb have helpful and informative uploads for more in-depth discussion and insight.

While I am no expert on the matter, I did want to bring night-vision goggles up for two primary purposes that I think have to do with why they receive avoidance and pushback from average citizens. and that’s before you get into all the accessories and mounting options. While this may be the case, I wanted to address this excuse from the get-go. For all of us who regularly and recreationally shoot, we already know that it’s an expensive hobby. But, for most essential things that require a high financial commitment, don’t we often find a reason to keep this in our budget still? Don’t we already make financial sacrifices to remain proficient in this field? I want to challenge the notion that NVG’s are outside of reach and are inaccessible to us as average citizens.

And this brings me to my second point, that they must be elevated into the realm of accessibility and responsibility to the point where they are not only considered normal but mandatory for anyone who takes their responsibilities to contribute to the protection of freedom seriously.

As I stated, night vision allows you to see in the dark. But don’t they a lso a l low us th is abi l ity metaphorically? My point is, night vision is an elevation in the standard of what we ought to think of when we consider when we think of owning guns and equipment.

Not only does their use demands a high caliber of training and knowhow, but I believe that once they

We, the people, ought to be those capable of upholding our rights and the lives of our communities.

A s we ra ise ou rselves i nto the realm of accessibility of NVG’s, we must to a lso be i ntroduced into the realm of high thought and consideration, philosophy, and conviction on what it means to be proud Americans.

It’s our responsibility to do everything we can to preserve and protect ourselves and our nation, as far as the Second Amendment is concerned.

Time your Draw to Get the Perfect Shot!

iming your draw is the most important thing you’ll do with a deer in range The attraction of bowhunting is the challenge. Much has to go ‘just right’ for a bowhunter to get his or her prize successfully. First, the prize has to be at close range and unaware of your presence. Then, you have to draw without alerting the animal. Next, you have to make an accurate shot for a clean kill. Finally, you must successfully recover the prize.

While each of these elements is vital to a successful outcome, drawing the bow unnoticed is one of the most important. This simple act will ultimately determine the result of the hunt.

So, timing your draw is critical and one of the most challenging skills to learn. A beginning bowhunter can hunt from a stand placed in the correct location by someone more experienced. After the shot, he or she can have someone else

trail the animal and recover it. But at the moment of truth, when drawing the bow and making the shot, the outcome rests squarely on the bowhunter. Even inexperienced hunters can learn shooting form and accuracy, but drawing the bow with

proper timing can only be practiced in real-time from the stand while in the presence of your prey. No amount of coaching can replace experience and time in the stand when it comes to this skill.

One mistake beginning bowhunters typically make is drawing too early. I regularly hear about a hunter drawing his or her bow while the deer is “behind a tree” or just before it steps into a shooting lane. Often, the deer either catches movement or hears the draw and instinctively freezes, with its vitals obscured by brush or the tree trunk.

This rarely winds up well for the hunter. The deer has no schedule and often stands still for several minutes while the hunter is holding the full weight of the bow, as well SEE GET THE PERFECT SHOT | PAGE 43

as the holding weight of the draw.

Eventually, the frustrated hunter is forced to let the draw down, the motion often spooking the alerted deer.

A better option would be to wait until the animal’s vitals are exposed and then slowly draw when it is looking away or has its head down feeding. This way, if it freezes, its vitals are fully exposed for a shot opportunity. Watching a deer’s front feet will also help in this situation. Just before stepping forward into a clearing, the deer will lift its front foot. This will help you to be ready to draw and shoot before the deer crosses the lane.

T he rules change when a deer is steadily moving. Deer that are walking steadily present a different challenge. It is generally

best to wait for the deer to stop before taking the shot, but bucks are often on a mission and steadily walking. These deer can be stopped by bleati ng w ith you r mouth; however, you need to be ready to release the arrow quickly because their focus will shift to you.

When a buck is looking your way and has his ears cupped towards you, your chances of successfully drawing on him aren’t very good.

Upon hearing the bleat, a deer will naturally tense its muscles, preparing to flee until it identified the source of the unknown noise, increasing the odds of string-jumping. A good trick is to bleat after you are already drawn and on target, and as the deer is stopping, release the shot. This way, the deer’s momentum will prevent it from reacting.

It also helps to watch a whitetail’s body language before attempting to draw. We know deer make a wide variety of vocalizations, but most of their communication is through posturing and body language.

For the hunter, learning to read this body language requires a lot of time in the stand observing deer.

Generally, it is best not to draw when in a deer’s direct line of sight or if its ears are cupped in your direction. This will usually result in a blown opportunity. Also, if a deer is visibly nervous or on edge, it is best to wait for the animal to relax before trying to draw. Multiple animals mean more eyes and ears and will only make drawing unnoticed even harder.

Time spent in the presence of deer will allow you to gauge the “mood” or “vibe” of the animal(s) in front of you. If they are keyed up, it is

better to wait and live to hunt another day. Once deer identify your stand’s location, especially catching your movement at close range, your chances for success are slim to none.

Most lessons are best learned the hard way, and I have learned far more from blown opportunities than anything else. Each missed opportunity offers a lesson. Spend as much time in the woods as you can this and every season and learn all you can. Bowhunting is genuinely an art, and nothing replaces experience when it comes to perfecting your mastery of it.

Gun ownership under Democrat’s control requires a psychological evaluation. There is no indication who will conduct this or how it might be appealed if unfavorable. An unelected federal board of decision-makers will decide: • Are you of “sound mind and character” (no standards described, to be Board determined later); • Do you have “factors that suggest that the individual could potentially create a risk to public safety” (what armed citizen doesn’t potentially pose such a risk?); • Do you meet or fail to meet “any other requirements the State determines relevant” (to be set after elections, without any statutory parameters – completely arbitrary limitless control); • And then authorities shall, “make a determination of suitability” for your ownership and possession of arms, including your own (in other words, a “may issue” vs. “shall issue” license at the federal level, with socialists in charge, if they get their way); • These are written into the bill. In addition, authorities, “shall establish standards and processes by which licensing authorities can revoke, suspend, or deny the issuance or renewal of a covered license” required to possess firearms; • The new required federal gun license, with mandatory written and

shooting testing in addition to the psych tests, and numerous other conditions, applies to all guns you own or seek.

Gun-averse mass media has “overlooked” this. The Second Amendment is being changed from an uninfringed right to a might-beissued license and scrutiny under dictatorial control. Go ahead; say it: “They can’t do that!”

How can an armed electorate even resist this wild scene? Democrats’ “representatives” are “with them.”

Speak against them; they attack your principles. The few people standing up against this cultural revolution find themselves facing “hate” charges – thought crime. Police are ordered to stand down! The ones who stand up are decommissioned, disbanded, and defunded.

It’s the socialist way. One election is all that stands between this and the collapse of the Constitution “The United States will eventually fly the communist flag. The American people will hoist it themselves,” Nikita Khrushchev predicted. Even now, our leaders propose funding Red Flag Laws (in HR5717/S3254). Mass media and many citizens think that’s great.

were put in the Congressional Record. These few lines illuminate the mob’s involvement and their threat to your guns and way of life: • Goal 17: Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum.

Get control of teachers’ associations.

Put the party line in textbooks.

• Goal 18: Gain control of all student newspapers.

• Goal19: Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

Fifteen Lies Satan Tells You About Scripture DR. JOE MCKEEVER

(The devil) was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar, and the father of lies (John 8:44).

If I were the devil, I would do everything in my power to keep you from the Word of God. I would say anything I could think of, anything I thought you would believe, anything that works, to get you to read other things.

As Paul said, “We are not ignorant of his devices” (2 Corinthians 2:11).

We know how he works. And here are some of the lies we have noticed pouring out of his factory, all geared toward destroying confidence in God’s Word.

One: “You already know it, so don’t read it.”

He’s lying to you. You do not know it. I’ve studied the Bible all my life and in no way could I say I “know” it. I know a great deal about it, but there is so much more. For the typical church member to shun the Bible because “I’ve been there and done that” is laughable.

Two: “No one can understand it, so don’t read it.” e’s lying. Even a child can understand a great deal of Scripture. Meanwhile, the Ph.D. will find plenty to challenge his thinking. Only a book from the Almighty could touch so many at every

level of their existence.

Three: “It’s boring. So don’t read it.”

He’s lying. The Bible is a lot of things, but boring is not one of them. We’re boring, and that’s the problem.

Four: “It’s better left to the professionals. So, don’t read it.”

He’s lying, using a lie he once sold to the Catholic Church during the Middle Ages. By keeping the Holy Scriptures in the Latin (and not in the language of the people) the church could give it whatever slant they chose. Some hardy individuals paid for the right for us to own Scriptures in our own tongue with their very lives. We must not take lightly the privilege we have to own a copy of the very Word of God in our own language.

Five: “You need Greek and Hebrews to know what it really means. So, don’t bother reading it.”

He’s lying. The English conveys very well the meanings of Scripture in their original languages. However, reading the Bible in its original forms is still thrilling, and we encourage people to study Hebrew and Greek if possible.

Six: “The English Bible was not translated correctly. If you doubt that, listen to preachers say, ‘The translators got this wrong. What it really says is….’ So, don’t read it.”

The devil is lying, and half the time those preachers are misrepresenting the truth too. Just read it.

Seven: “It’s contradictory. So don’t

read it.”

He’s got a half-truth here, but he’s still lying. There are no contradictions in Scripture regarding any doctrine or teaching of consequence. There are places where one writer says 100 people were killed and another writer said it was 1000. That sort of thing.

Scholars often have explanations for this. (To me personally, I love those little shades of differences. They are the very answer to the charge that the church tampered with the Bible to make it say what they want. If so,

they would have cleaned up those loose ends! Smiley-face goes here.)

Eight: “Experts disagree on what it means. So, don’t read it.”

He’s lying. The Christian church, no matter what denomination, agrees with 90 percent of the Scripture message. Or even more.

Nine: “The Bible is outdated. Not for our modern times. So, don’t read it.”

until you are older is another ploy he uses on the simple-minded. Many a person has gone out into eternity lost who had planned to take care of these matters down the road when they were elderly. The only problem is they didn’t live to become elderly. Don’t let it happen to you.

Anyone see a trend here? The enemy will say anything to keep you from reading the Bible.

Are you playing into his hands? Are you believing his lies?

You do so to your own detriment, friend.

So, get your Bible and get started.

Here’s how…

One: Open to the Gospel of Matthew.

That’s page one of the New Testament.

You can read all 28 chapters of this short volume in an hour or so.

Two: Keep reading. You will read three other gospels similar to Matthew–Mark, Luke, and John–but different, on the life and ministry of Jesus.

Each writer has something unique to offer.

Three: Keep reading. Acts of the Apostles tells what happened after Jesus left.

Four: And yes, keep on reading. You are now to the “epistles,” a fancy word for “letters,” most of them from the Apostle Paul to churches in various locales. You won’t understand everything, but you can grasp a great deal.

Five: Don’t worry about what you cannot understand. Treasure all that you do understand, because there is a great deal of it.

Six: Read it consecutively (not just jumping around) and in large sections, at least one hour at a time.

Seven: When you finish, go back and start again. You will get more the second time through than you did the first.

Eight: Pray. Each time you open the Bible, say this: “Father, help me to understand this and to get what You want me to see. Thank you for hearing my prayer.”

Nine: Get help. After you have read it through a few times, ask a pastor if there is a Bible study class you could attend. To hear a good teacher teach about what you have been reading can be a privilege.

Ten: Obey it. In John 13:17, Jesus said, “If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.” Also, see James 1:22. The blessing comes from obeying His teachings, not from reading or learning them.

Eventually, you will be able to say what Job did. “I have esteemed the words of Thy mouth more than my necessary food” (Job 23:12).

Anyone who gets you to reading the Bible has done you an incredibly wonderful favor. I’d love to be the one.

Civilization and the Loss of Civility

Paradise and Utopia At some point in my childhood, I was introduced to the notion of paradise. This was no doubt from the Bible where a man and women, with all their pets, resided in a beautiful garden.

Additionally, I was made aware of longed for concepts like Heaven and the earthly equivalent called Utopia.

Eventually, however, we are simply left with dealing with the practical concerns of civilization.

Heaven, Utopia, and civilization have their antitheses of Hell, dystopia, and barbarianism. With respect to any eternal destiny beyond our control, Heaven is generally perceived as being preferable to Hell. Yet, in this life, we are left with shaping our everyday culture. What are the principles, precepts, and guideposts which serve as the gauge for civilized societies?

Civilization Humans are different than beasts.

Although some might suggest the difference is merely one of degree, I am confident that we are different in kind. Tragically, however, we do seem to have the capacity to degenerate and behave as beasts. So, let us examine a few of these similarities and differences.

Men and animals manifest group behaviors in varying ways. Whether one refers to the herd, the flock, the family, or the community, every characterization represents a collective operation requiring a particular set of priorities and protocols to achieve productive results. However, humanity is distinguished in its overwhelming complexity; a complexity that begins with language and extends into our actions in reshaping or transforming our environments. I am confident that this is due to our being created in (or after) the image of God. It is often suggested that this allusion to man being made in God’s

image is a very arrogant notion. However, it carries the corresponding idea that we are accountable, legally culpable, before this God in whose image we are created. That is, of course, unless one might wish to change or imagine a God very different from an infinite, personal Creator. How we think about divinity will significantly impact how we operate within humanity… within our homes, neighborhoods, communities, and every level of civilization.

Current Observations In 2020, what started with a health crisis soon contributed to an economic crisis. If these were not bad enough, the George Floyd incident sparked a revolutionary racial crisis. The biggest surprise for me, personally, has been how global these issues became virtually overnight. People everywhere were discussing these events. We have all been deeply affected by these current problems.

Now, apart from using email, I do not really participate in any social media platform. Also, since the digital TV mandate some time ago, I stopped watching broadcast television and heard most of the news from the radio.

However, since March 2020, I started watching broadcast television once

again with regularity to keep up with any new social or medical mandates from my city, state, or nation regarding the COVID pandemic. Indeed, these seemed to change almost every week, adversely affecting our economy. Then, the death of George Floyd abruptly occurred in Minneapolis.

The nation had already been punched twice in the gut, and now we were stunned with a blow to the heart.

I’m not entirely sure just exactly what is happening in our country. It seems that a lot of different people have a lot of different opinions, coupled with a lot of different attitudes. Yet, interestingly enough, it appears that virtually everyone is actually hoping for resolution in some kind of unity. I just wonder: Is there any rational basis for such a unity in the midst of immense irrational diversity?

Well, I believe that the book we call the Bible represents the documented Word of God. As I ponder the destiny of nations and the decline I have witnessed in America during my 70 years, I wonder if there is a deeper problem at the heart of our difficulties. America has been a great nation, but it suffers, along with all the others past and present, with the same human frailties which afflict mankind individually

and corporately.

What are these problems? What are the irreducible principles, precepts, or social conditions which must be present for a nation (or an individual) to prosper? Maybe, just maybe, the Bible has something to say.

A Lesson from Romans In the last half of the first chapter of the book of Romans, the Apostle Paul briefly summarizes the spiritual decline of people in Gentile nations, resulting in the death of a stable culture. The three characteristics that become lost in this deterioration process are: a) humility, b) morality, and c) civility.

First, he mentions that there are those who do not wish to humbly honor their Creator and fabricate some idolatrous replacement to satisfy their creature fantasies.

Failing to appreciate a Creator of pure holiness, God gives them over to their impurity or uncleanness, which manifests in their vain imaginations.

Secondly, when men continue in this direction, they will begin to dishonor themselves and others by SEE LOSS OF CIVILITY | PAGE 53

think our way to or through God’s truth. Our human minds are fundamentally incapable of encompassing such immensities. As the man who wrote most of the New Testament tells us, “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

Many unbelievers and skeptics try to cast aspersions on the Word of God by pointing out what they perceive as contradictions in the text. When we’re reading or meditating in the Word if we encounter anything we feel is a contradiction don’t let it weaken your faith instead stand on faith. Instead of wavering do as one of the New Testament authors suggests, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

And don’t despair, don’t think I just can’t understand this. Don’t think God has given us a puzzle instead of a revelation. Just because we can never fully understand all of it does not mean we can’t understand any of it. Just because we can’t use God’s Word to develop

a spiritual unifying field theory for every person everywhere every time it doesn’t mean we can’t understand enough with God’s help to have a reliable guide for life. The Bible itself addresses the ability of the born-again believer to embrace the revelation of God, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.” And for those who say, “The Bible has been translated so many times by so many people how can we know it’s the true unadulterated Word of God?” I believe that if the God of all creation went to all the trouble to send prophets and apostles over thousands of years to write down His Word to humanity and if after thousands of years of unbelievers trying unsuccessfully to burn and destroy that Word it has not only survived, it has thrived.

I can believe His Word has ended up in my hands in a pure enough form for me to hear what He’s saying.

How Can I Trust the Bible?

ometimes we try to define God’s words and actions too perfectly. In our arrogance, we think we can adequately describe exactly what God always means in all situations. This easily can lead us into thinking our doctrines are God’s doctrines. We act as if God is sitting on the throne studying our catechisms and judging by our standards.

When we do this, we’re trying to put God in a box. The biggest problem with this is that when God decides to draw outside the lines, we run the risk of misidentifying a move of God as heresy because it violates one of our rules.

It’s good to devote our efforts to grasp the meanings of God’s Word; however, we must always be aware that it’s possible to veer from seeking

understanding to believing we have cornered the market on this valuable commodity. We just can’t reduce the immensity of God into formulas. In any equation, we devise to represent God, His Word, or His actions the “X” of God is always undefined.

Eternity, infinity, and omnipresence are all terms we can define but we can never fully comprehend. The reality of God, the only self-existent One is as far removed from our understanding as the operation of a supercomputer is from an amoeba. Or as one of the prophets put it, “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways”, says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.’”

“Honor the Emperor”

his is America. We have no king. As such, the words of the Apostle Peter might sound foreign to us. “Honor the Emperor,” Peter wrote (1 Peter 2:17). Even though we have no king or emperor, we do have a President, Governors, Congressmen, Judges, and Mayors.

It is the Christian’s duty to honor the leaders of men. This is best illustrated by Paul the Apostle.

When the Jewish High Priest shamed Paul, Paul openly reviled him. However, when Paul was told that he had just insulted the High Priest, he said, “Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest, for it is written: ‘Do not speak evil about the ruler of your people’’’ (Acts: 23:5). Think about this.

Paul, the Apostle of God, the second most influential person regarding the Christian Faith, apologized to a corrupt High Priest whose purpose had come to an end. The work of Christ fulfilled the Levitical priesthood. This High Priest no longer had a divine commission from God. Nonetheless, Paul apologized. He recognized that authorities deserve honor.

Now, this honor is not the authority’s doing. Paul wrote in his letter to the Romans, “The authorities that exist have been established by God.” Therefore, we honor authority because God has instituted the State. I want to note that there is a time to resist the government, but that is beyond the scope of this article. However, even if the government is resisted, we are to honor our opposition. This is like

a governmental application of loving our enemies.

This is comparable to our duty to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12). We may have to oppose our parents. In some terrible, abusive circumstances, it is justifiable for a child to fight his parents openly. Nonetheless, the commandment to honor parents stands.

Such is the same with other forms of government.

We have an election underway; possibly the most significant election in American history. There is the un-American Joe Biden versus the flawed-but-American Donald Trump. Tyranny versus Liberty. We want President Trump to win. We want Joe Biden to lose. In our zeal, we must honor our authority even if we dislike his policies, even if we despise him.

If Joe Biden becomes the next President of the United States, let us not be like the Left who refuse to honor President Trump as President and yet are too cowardly to openly revolt. If, God-forbid, we must resist, let us do so with honor and dignity, not with cowardice and selfishness.

Now I turn my attention local. Mayor Dan Pope is not my favorite person at the moment. As I have been heavily involved in the Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn movement here in Lubbock, I have been continually dissatisfied and angry regarding the Mayor and City Council’s actions (or lack thereof).

Nonetheless, Mayor Pope is the mayor of Lubbock and deserves respect. Not because I like him or agree with his actions, but because God has told me to honor him. Whether Stephen Sanders

or Dan Pope wins the mayoral election, I must give “honor to whom honor is due” (Romans 13:7).

I admit that I am not always consistent with my walk and my talk. I have said things of authorities that ought not to be said. Criticism (whether personal and political) can quickly turn into unjust venting and bashing.

As Christians, we must be humble enough to honor our authorities, yet bold enough to resist them.

T h is is a cha l leng i ng, even

paradoxical, task to be sure.

There is a baby step to help us get on the right path: Prayer. Let us offer prayers to our Father on behalf of our authorities. Let us pray boldly that we might have the wisdom and courage to resist when the time comes.

In Defense of Discrimination

I

have been an advocate for discrimination for a very long time, especially for the last 26 years, when I realized its importance even more. In today’s world, it is not something that seems to be needed and frowned against.

Discrimination was taught to me at a very early age by my parents, who wanted to prepare me for life.

That might sound terrible to some people who would see that as an example of how racism is perpetuated generationally. But my parents were not racists. I was given many more examples of discrimination when I left my home, where I was an only child, and mixed with children of different backgrounds as I attended a Catholic elementary school. Sister Marian Angela, Sister Mary Martin, and Sister Catherine are all responsible for continuing my development as a practitioner of discrimination. They also were not racists. Nor were the many teachers and professors that taught discrimination to me through high school, college, grad school, and post-grad.

It is critical for us to practice discrimination if we use the original meaning of the word... ”recognition and understanding of the difference between one thing and another.”

Every test question is discriminatory because it helps the teacher recognize the difference between the students who have learned the correct answer and those who have not. We discriminate when we go to the correct gate at an airport to catch our flight.

The department of Motor Vehicles discriminates every time they refuse to give a driver’s license to someone who cannot pass the vision test. Our ability to discriminate, hopefully, keeps us away from life-threatening situations.

This definition, however, is rarely what we think of any longer when we hear the word because it has so often been preceded by adjectives that have made it something terrible... “racial” discrimination or “sexual” discrimination, or perhaps “religious” discrimination.

Today, even without an adjective in front of it, the word is now more widely understood to mean “the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.”

In all the countless ways that we use our ability to discriminate, there is one use that is most important and way above all the rest: our ability to discriminate and tell the difference between good and evil.

When discrimination is used in this context, the name it is given is “discernment.”

Thirty years ago, I stayed at a monastery for several days, where I was taught some ways in which discernment could be enhanced. Twenty-six years ago, I was blessed with three extraordinary people, two women, and a Catholic priest, an exorcist, who have provided “advanced training” to my discernment and taken it to an entirely new level through their words and actions. All three put Jesus first in their lives.

At the monastery, I was given some criteria by which to judge “rightness” or “wrongness,” good or evil... whether something was more likely to be in accordance with our Christian faith or incongruent with it. For example: Things that are of God typically reflect “order, harmony, and clarity,” while evil can be detected in “chaos, confusion, and disorder.”

With God, we have a spirit of peace, unlike the spirit of mental disturbance that accompanies evil.

God’s Spirit brings life and creativity, not the death and destruction brought about by evil.

In God, we seek to gather and unify in His name, while evil seeks to scatter the flock.

Humility is of God, while pride is the sin of the devil.

When we believe we are acting in harmony with God’s plan, we are “open to the light,” that is to say we believe that God would see goodness in what we are doing, but when we are doing things, we are trying to hide from God or “in the dark,” that is good cause to stop them.

Obedience to God’s commands will bring lasting joy, whereas “doing your

own thing” brings temporary “pleasure” and long term pain.

Service to others and willingness to sacrifice are steps toward God, while selfish desires take us away.

Honoring the Gospel message is unifying, while the hand of evil can be seen in “watering down” the message, selecting words out of context, or denying the Gospel message and the existence of God altogether.

CHRISTIAN CLERGY AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Part III: The Story of Pastor David Avery

n this fourth of a series of articles, we remember the famous “Black Regiment” of Pastors who fought and ministered during the Revolutionary War. They got their nickname from the British military, who blamed them for their embarrassing loss of the War. At the time, the British were the strongest military force in the world, and even the King said it was the American clerics that had caused their defeat. How is it possible that men who wore black robes and preached on Sundays with no military background were the ones who caused their defeat? The answer is, their impact was insurmountable: They were generally the most respected and educated members of the American culture consisting of mostly Christian church-goers.

Therefore, their positions on issues carried a lot of weight and gave the colonists a biblical justification for their desire to rebel against England.

They were wonderfully gifted and passionate orators who inspired their members and then personally led them into battle.

They recruited militia and regular troops from within their congregations with much greater effectiveness than the professional military recruiters.

Their strong faith was evident in

forgive or accept the forgiveness that evil encourages.

Recognizing Jesus as Lord brings all of humanity closer to God, which is why evil wants us to deny Jesus and worship false gods instead.

“Loving one another” is of the utmost importance, which is why evil promotes its opposite.

their fearlessness in battle, which inspired the colonists and averted many a retreat for the undermanned and underequipped Continental Army.

One of the best examples of such a man was Pastor David Avery, who, when the War started in 1773, had just become the Pastor of the Winsor Vermont Congregational Church at the age of 27. He was converted under the ministry of the famous Pastor George Whitefield, earned a degree from Yale, and was awarded an honorary degree from Dartmouth. Less than two years after becoming the Pastor, he announced his resignation to his shocked congregation one Sunday morning in April 1775 to join the Army. After the service, he went outside to speak to the church’s men about forming a militia, and 20 of them went home that day to fetch their muskets, say goodbye to their families, and march off to Boston under the command of their new Captain, David Avery.

Only two months later, we find him standing on Bunker Hill praying for an American victory, arms outstretched to heaven during a battle that was being fought on nearby Breeds Hill. He was praying in plain view, inspiring the Americans, including his own militia. All the while, the British shots that didn’t find their targets on Breeds Hill were landing on Bunker Hill all around the praying

Pastor Avery, who came away with a new name: “The Patriot Pastor of Bunker Hill.” The Americans lost the battle that day only because they ran out of ammunition. The British lost more than one thousand troops in a disastrous Pyrrhic victory.

Pastor Avery soon became one of General Washington’s favorite Chaplains. They had become friends and often dined and traveled together. He also became lifelong friends with Benjamin Franklin. Pastor Avery was there to watch the British abandon Boston. He was present for the Battle of Long Island. He was with Washington during his retreat from New Jersey, during the crossing of the Delaware River, and during the excruciating winter of 1776-77 at Valley Forge. He was at the Battle of Fort Ticonderoga, the Battle of Bennington, and assisted Washington in exposing Benedict Arnold and capturing his accomplice. During these events, he acted in the capacity of a musket-shooting Chaplain who also ministered to the wounded and dying after the battles.

There was no way the British could have handled hundreds of blackrobed men like this with their determination and courageous dedication to God. It was a total mismatch!

We must be constantly vigilant, 24/7, because the Evil One never rests. Today, more than ever, we must be intensely perceptive because of the countless ways that evil is masked, often as something good “And no wonder, for even Satan masquerades as an angel of light.” (2 Cor. 11-14)

Evil is extremely deceptive and extremely predictable. It seeks division from God, leading to death and destruction. In today’s world, “discrimination” between what is of God and what is of Satan is needed more than ever.

Elections, Consequences, & A Black-Robed Rudder

lato, a Greek philosopher in 375 B.C., wrote The Republic. It is a work written about democracy as a form of government using a metaphor called “the ship of state”. Using this “ship of state” metaphor when reflecting upon the “state of our American Union”, I would understand that, as American citizens, we are the sailors. Our captain of the ship is the President. And the “rudder” is the Supreme Court.

Our present form of American government is divided into three branches: the Executive branch, the Legislative branch, and the Judicial branch. Our nation’s founders recognized the necessity of a balance of power between the three government branches to protect the peaceful transfer of power,

following a presidential election in a Constitutional Republic. In our nation’s history, rarely has the Supreme Court been called upon to decide the results of a “contested election”. A “contested election” happens when the “Electoral College” cannot determine who the next President of the United States will be.

I am writing this commentary in the shadow of the November 3, 2020, election. To say we are living in unprecedented times, as Americans, does not adequately describe the dangerous fog of uncertainty that we find ourselves sailing in on this American “ship of state”. The virus Covid-19 causes us to distrust one

another in our efforts to defeat this national and invisible enemy. The power of “the media” and “social technology” rulers threatens our ability to discern “truth”. Who could “We the People” trust in our attempt to decide whom to elect as President to be the “Captain of our ship of state”? Or, as a mob of sailors, will we be rushing to see who could control the rudder of our “ship of state”, i.e., the Supreme Court.

In 2009, President Obama said, “Elections have consequences, and I won”. As you read these words, we all will be thinking about the prophetic power of those words spoken by an American President. What

if there are only eight “unelected” black-robed justices sitting on the Supreme Court bench? What if the decision about a “contested election” results in a four to four Supreme Court tie vote? Why a four to four tie vote? Because the ninth unelected “black-robed” justice was not voted upon and given the empty bench seat before the November 3, 2020 election. Then “the rudder” of our “ship of state” could be controlled by a “contingent election” in the House of Representatives. An eighty-year-old, named Nancy Pelosi, can’t wait to get her hand on “the rudder” of our “ship of state”.

Patriots of this “Experiment”, we lovingly call America, what will we be talking about as you read these words?

What will be the consequences of the decisions made by what, Christians believe, are “the elect”? “The Elect” are people chosen by their Creator, Redeemer, and Holy Spirit to be informed and obedient citizens fulfilling their duties as sailors on this “ship of state” called America. What has been decided by God’s chosen people in an election, with God’s sovereign blessing, is whether our “ship of state” has crashed on the rocks because the wrong person gained control of the ship’s rudder, or she still sails peaceably into more sunsets on calm seas as “out of many one”. We will be reaping the fruit of our prayers and the judgment we deserve for our lack of spiritual repentance, or we will or will not be singing “God’s Truth is Marching On”.

Lord, have mercy upon us as we mourn in righteous judgment or humbly rejoice in one more season of our heavenly Father’s mercy.

intruding into immoral practices, progressively advancing civil deterioration. God, consequently, gives them over to the vile affections they are seeking.

Finally, when they arrive at the point where they don’t even want to hear or think about God, He gives them over to irrational, reprobate minds from which proceeds every form of uncivil behavior and debauchery. This loss of civility is the final stage, which, if unchecked, will ultimately destroy society. Therefore, from beginning to end, Paul is telling us that the loss of social harmony and civility begins with the loss of true humility before our Creator.

Although this was penned around two millennia ago, it should sound familiar. It seems that America itself

The United States seems to have lost a significant degree of cultural unity over the past several decades. We are currently reacting in various ways toward quarantine efforts, protests, riots, demanding our rights, and our voices to be heard. Will all this reacting be providing real solutions for social unity?

Conclusions Is the ultimate problem of mankind really one of sociology, economics, political affiliation, environment, status, class, wealth, gender, culture, or ethnicity? One of our national songs is as follows: America, America God shed His grace on Thee and Crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.

I have heard people decry America in derogatory terms in recent years, while others wax eloquently about American exceptionalism. However, the lines in this song do not allude to our national excellence, genius, or prosperity. Instead, it refers to blessings from above while inferring our personal responsibility. I believe the exceptional thing about

America was the clear intent of our early ancestors in seeking freedom to worship and serve God. Perhaps, once we acknowledge our individual or corporate depravity, we should cry out for God’s mercy and grace to regain those blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity.

A LITTLE GOOD NEWS TODAY: “How Much Faith Does It Take”

anxiety. And, I don’t believe God heals, and I sure don’t believe He would heal me even if He did. BUT… if He showed you all of this, then please, pray for me.” Then she ran down front for prayer. I anointed her with oil, and we prayed for her, and she went back to her home town.

WHEN SHE ARRIVED back at her home, she put her prescribed eye drops into her eyes. She had been told that her tear duct wouldn’t water, so they had set up a time for surgery to transplant a saliva gland to try and fix the problem. The eye drops burned her eyes, so she called her doctor. He told her to stop using the drops and come in for another checkup.

After examining her, the doctor told her the tear duct was working just fine, and she could forget the surgery.

Then she remembered what had happened while visiting our Church.

She told the doctor all about it, and he told her that it was a bunch of baloney. She asked him to test her once again for the disease, just in case. The doctor did and found no

HERE’S A STORY of a man in the Bible that was crippled from birth. He had enough faith for his friends to take him to Jesus, but that was about all he had.

He had lived with this all of his life.

This story is in Mark chapter 2, where Jesus was teaching in a house that was so crowded that many were standing outside the door and at the windows trying to hear. The men carrying the crippled man couldn’t get in, so they climbed up on the thatch roof and let the man down through a hole to get to Jesus. As the men were letting the cripple down, it says, “And Jesus seeing “their” faith, saith unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven. I say unto thee, Arise, take up thy bed and go unto thy house.”

These are the words that grabbed me; Jesus saw the “friends faith” and healed the crippled man.

I WANT TO TELL YOU about a woman who admitted she didn’t have any faith, didn’t believe God heals today, and surely wouldn’t heal her even if He did still heal people.

We were in Church and close to the end of the service when the Lord began to speak to me about a woman who was visiting that Sunday. She had never been there before. She had quietly slipped in and was sitting in the back, wearing a red dress. I stood up and addressed the lady, telling her that God had just spoken to me that He wanted to heal her. The Lord said; “You have been to a Medical Center for tests, and you’ve just been diagnosed with an incurable disease. It scared you so bad that your heart began to palpate, and you thought you were having a heart attack. The Doctors checked out your heart and

You are on your way home and decided to stop in for this service. Now, as I was speaking what God told me to say, I was thinking to myself, “Lord, I thought you had to have faith to be healed.”

The woman stood up and said, “It’s true, I have just been diagnosed with an incurable disease, and I thought I was having a heart attack too, but the doctors said it was just fear and

A few weeks later, we received a letter from her and her doctor saying that she had a clean bill of health.

No more disease! Not only was she healed of the disease, but God healed her tear duct gland also.

IT DOES TAKE FAITH to be healed, but sometimes it’s a friend’s faith standing in the gap for you when your faith is all gone. In this lady’s case, when God revealed her past, that none of us could have known, it actually gave her faith that God was real and could do whatever He said.

God knew she didn’t believe, but He said, “If you’ll come down and let them anoint you with oil and pray for you, I’ll heal you JUST to show you I love you.”

She stepped out in the little faith she had, and God healed her.
