I

’m sure you’ve noticed lately that there are a lot of people in our country who don’t like it very much and want to pretty much change everything. They tend to be associated with our universities, the Democrat Party, various radical leftist organizations and the mainstream media, and they’re really vocal about their dissatisfaction. But if you stop and think for a moment, what is the rationale behind condemning one’s own country? What does that actually accomplish? Years ago, when I used to travel a lot, I visited MANY places that didn’t have very much, but the people all loved their own countries even

when there was oppression and difficulty.

By almost any rational measure, the United States of America has been the most exceptional country that has ever existed: economically, militarily, influentially and just about any way you look at it. That doesn’t mean we’ve been perfect, but nothing that people put together is ever perfect. The unique thing about America though is that historically we’ve tried to bring correction to our imperfections, perhaps not always as smoothly as we would have liked but in the end by doing what was necessary to bring about a majority-approved way to keep going forward as a free, value-based society.

“These people are crazy!”

My wife was drinking her coffee the other day, scrolling through Facebook (mostly looking at local posts regarding school openings) when she blurted the observation. She is very conservative and never misses a vote but is one of the Silent Majority who rarely engages others and almost never posts a thing online.

I tilted my head and raised an ample eyebrow.

“You know my friend Laura, from school?” she asked. By “school,” she meant a football mom (our son plays high school football). I nodded. “She is all over Facebook siding with the rioters and criminals in Portland and blaming the president for sending ‘stormtroopers” into the city to protect the Federal courthouse from being burned down. What is wrong with these people!? Are they really my friends?”

I acknowledged her frustration and explained that many of my customers (who I like very much when I meet them in social settings) are rabid in their Trump hatred and openly advocate the burning and looting in several of our major cities, the tearing down of historic statues, and the silencing of voices that disagree with their world view. “It is disheartening and maddening,” I admitted. “Many of these folks are apparently well-educated. How can you claim to love your country and its ideals while simultaneously tearing apart the civil society upon which it rests?”

“Exactly,” shot back the agitated misses. “Mrs _ _ _ _ is arguing that Black Lives Matters representatives should be allowed into our classrooms to lecture kids! She is a teacher, for God’s sake!”

“How do you go into the streets and riot and throw Molotov cocktails by night,” I asked, “and slip back into the classroom and teach English by day?”

This led to a deep discussion about where we go from here—not only as a country, but as states, counties, cities, neighbors, and even families.

How do people who so fundamentally disagree on the major issues that unite us as a nation—like Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, due process, equality under the law, and the supremacy of federal law—continue the social compact?

Finally, I said something like this: “If you believe someone is ever justified in destroying the personal property of another and insist on calling it a ‘peaceful protest’ instead of what it is, ‘a riot,” we have nothing left to talk about. Where is the middle ground? Burn down only the small stores? Smash the windows of only foreign cars, but not Chevys? How do you compromise?”

Several seconds of heavy silence hung between us, pregnant with portent and import. “How do you indeed?” she replied. “I think you are on to something. You should write it up.” This got me to thinking…

If you believe robbing someone’s

home or business during a “protest” is acceptable behavior under any circumstances, it means we have nothing left to talk about.

If you believe mobs pulling down statues, monuments, or other historical structures with ropes, chains, and brute strength is justified under any circumstances, then we have nothing left to talk about.

Meet Stephen Sanders, 2020 Candidate for Lubbock Mayor Monterey, where I received my diploma. I’m a true plainsman to heart, by the way!

I then decided to leave for the military and join the U.S. Army, where I became a 92 Y (Unit Supply Specialist) stationed in Ft. Bragg. After serving honorably in the U.S. Army, I returned to Lubbock and once again started back working with the church and particularly with the youth of the church. They are our future! And, I found much reward and joy in giving them a foundation of Christ to build upon.

beautiful wife, Mckinzie Sanders, and we started a family. Mckinzie is the niece of the great late Donnie Allison from the Cactus Theatre. She is my backbone, along with Christ, and without both of their support, I would not be where I am.

My wife and children have always been a part of my community service, and it has served as an excellent way to teach my children how to be great young men and women and to be humble. Family is everything to me, and to teach my children how to be great people is my number goal in life.

Shortly after my return from the military, I felt compelled to work with the homeless, and have been doing that ever since. It taught me more humility and gratefulness for all the things God has given me over the years. I began to work with different entities from all over the city, such as the Review Board from United Way, the ministerial staff at my church, and various individuals.

That work of love showed me how I was able to bring all people together to serve less fortunate people.

Ultimately, I heard a higher calling to run for mayor. In 2018, I ran as a writein candidate and had an opportunity to learn a lot about city operations and the issues we face from an inside perspective. This opportunity indeed drove me to become a full-fledged 2020 candidate as the desire grew much deeper to fulfill this God-ordained mission. I began to break our budgets down and learn the Council’s methods and tactics as a preparation for being on the ballot in 2020. During this time, I took classes at Texas Tech, where I have received my certificate of business from the Rawls Business Institute.

I will work tirelessly to bring the same level of commitment, values, and cohesiveness to the City of Lubbock and the Council as I do my personal life. Equally important, I will bridge the current gap of distrust between the City Council and the citizens of

A Democratic Vote is a Vote for Socialism & Communism

PEOPLE ARE LURED INTO ACCEPTING and wanting Socialism by giving them free everything.

The ultimate GOAL of Socialism is Communism. Then once Communism is in effect, the people have been disarmed and mandated to work for the Communist Government. You are “cheap” labor as everyone is paid the same salary of around $35 a month no matter if you are a Doctor, Lawyer, Engineer, or common laborer. But the products you make at such cheap labor price, are sold to other countries by the Communist Leaders for a normal hefty price.

You have just become “Sweat-Shop Labor,” working for your Communist Government. You can never better yourself, own a business, or get a raise in salary. You may not like it, but you can’t

do anything about it. You don’t have any guns to fight with. If you become a “dissident” to the Communist Government, you will be beaten, killed, or thrown in prison for many years or life.

UNDER SOCIALISM - COMMUNISM, the elimination of prayer is essential to control the people. You cannot have any religious expression in the schools, workplace ,or your private life. The Bible must be discredited, and emphasis placed on the need for intellectual maturity which does not need a “religious crutch.” Government must take the place of God. Discredit the family institution and encourage promiscuity, divorce, homosexuality, and degeneracy as “normal, natural, and healthy.”

In Socialism, a dictatorship is inevitable. As in the book Animal Farm by George Orwell, “all animals are equal,

but some animals are more equal than others.” Socialism always ends up being run by selfish entities who set themselves up as the elite ruling class, the new Royalty.

SOVIET LEADER NIKITA KHRUSHCHEV said in 1959, “You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright, but we’ll keep feeding you small doses of socialism until

you will finally wake up and find that you ALREADY have communism.”

Under Socialism - Communism, it subjects the individual to arrest without lawful cause, punishment without trial, and forced labor as a government-owned slave of the state.

It decrees what information you shall receive, what art or products you shall produce, what leaders you shall follow, and what thoughts you shall think.

If this is what you want to live under, then, by all means, vote the Democratic ticket in November.

What Makes America Great?

A

merica is great for so many reasons. However, if I were going to narrow it down to just a couple of main areas of greatness, I would say that America is great because of our freedom of choice and our people.

Our freedoms began with the Declaration of Independence and advanced with the writing of our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

Over the course of the past two hundred and forty-three years, our never-ending pursuit of freedom has brought many changes to our country. Whether it be our freedom to participate in celebrations, protests, or marches; to our freedom to vote; to our freedom of speech; there is no other place in the world where the exercising of choice and free will is so readily welcomed by a nation.

Other freedoms not always granted to other citizens of the world include the choice of the job or career you want to pursue and choosing where you go to school. America also lets you travel when and where you want, unlike in many other countries that don’t allow travel without restrictions. If you are of a different race, a different religion, and of either gender, you can still get any job, choose to vote, and just be who or what you want to be in America.

Another main reason America is great is its people who protect the nation. The Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard, and first responders; all readily willing to sacrifice their lives to protect us. These people have also protected other nations too by stopping people that would try to harm those nations or their people. The saying that “Freedom is Never Free” is one of the truest statements I’ve ever heard. These

brave men and women, with a call to service to our great country, are the reason we have our freedoms today and why people from other nations want to live in America.

America is the greatest country and civilization to ever have existed on the planet. Our greatness can be simplified to two very important components from which we gather our distinction. Our greatness comes

from our freedoms and the people who fight to ensure that those freedoms withstand the test of time.

Democrats are Not Hiding Their Intentions

f you listen closely you can discern what the Democrats intend to do and why.

Nancy Pelosi said, about a year ago, that, “one way or another”, Dona ld T ru mp w i l l not have a second term. The Democrats are pushing for vote by mail because it is the only way they can steal the election. The COVID farce has allegedly killed 170K Americans... far less than the fear-mongering MSM said could be over 2 million; and the numbers are outrageously corrupted (inflated).

Doctors are now being threatened if they use Hydroxychloroquine (recommended by Trump) to save COVID patients. A few Democrat

Governors intentionally put COVID patients into their assisted living and nursing homes to increase the lethality and create more fear.

All this COVID fear is about vote by mail and they don’t care who or how many have to die to achieve this goal.

The chaos/violence in Democratrun cities is a Democrat strategic effort to force Trump to declare martial law so they can claim he is a tyrant and abusing his power. Now, Pelosi says that if Trump doesn’t leave the White House after the election, it is only geography and another inauguration can happen to put someone else in power.

The Democrats have no intention of accepting a loss this year.

The Constitution no longer means

anything to the Democrats. The Polls are inflated for Biden so the Dems can claim Trump stole the election. Why? Because they were so sure Hillary was going to win that the previous administration failed to hide its treason and corruption.

It is about not being held accountable and, like a mouse backed into a corner, they are fighting with all they have at the expense of “We the People.” Democrats are demonstrating how much they detest our Constitution and are willing to destroy their own cities to prove it.

I wonder how the destruction will affect their ability to attract new businesses to replace those that are fleeing. The taxpayer base of New York, Illinois, Washington, Oregon, and California are leaving those

states in droves. Looks like these states will be living with the ruin for years to come and, remember, elections do have consequences.

The White House Siege, Occupation Starts Sept. 17, 2020

Vancouver, British Columbia group calling themselves the Adbusters recently placed an ad in social media calling upon “tens of thousands of our fellow citizens [to] lay siege to the White House” on September 17, 2020 (The White House Siege—Tactical Briefing #1). The siege is slated to last fifty days ending election day November 3rd.

The flyer begins “All right, all you activists” and specifically names #MeToo, #BLM, #ExtinctionRebellion and invites all anti-Trump protestors.

“We want to…spark a revolution with you.” “Are you ready for revolution?

We are too.” “We will lay siege to the White House. And we will sustain it for exactly fifty days.”

Their literature advocates the

overthrow of the president of the United States—even a coup d’etat.

Five years ago, it easily would have been called treason but in the “hate Trump era” fed to us nightly by almost

all major media outlets and Big Tech, which censors anything good about the man or conservatism, this is the new normal at least until a Democrat is returned to the White House. In a

photograph attributed to this movement, the left third of the White House is pictured with smoke and flames ascending into the sky. Through the windows, one can see flames enveloping the center of the building. All Big Tech outlets from which this information is taken, Google, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter are conjoined in promoting the September 17 event.

All allow its advertisements on their platforms. Their literature uses the words non-violent but they have yet to condemn the violence in Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, or anywhere else, calling these peaceful protests, while they censor doctors advocating saving lives with hydroxychloroquine.

Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?

DONALD TRUMP: I’ve been told by my many sources, good sources - they’re very good sources - that the chicken crossed the road.

All the Fake News wants to do is write nasty things about the road, but it’s a really good road. It’s a beautiful road. Everyone knows how beautiful it is.

Why Socialist Revolutionaries Will Vote for Biden

oe Biden is not a socialist revolutionary. Throughout his seemingly never-ending career as a professional politician, he’s been a run-of-the-mill machine Democrat.

As with all the others crowding the government trough, he’s worked hard to live out the advice of Harry Hopkins a New Deal Democratic administrator who personified the ideology of the New Deal in the 1930s and President FDR’s closest personal adviser, “We shall tax and tax, and spend and spend, and elect and elect.”

Along with being wrong about every foreign policy position the former Vice President never saw a spending program he didn’t like. He’s tried running for president twice before and never got more than 1% in any primary. This time as the only viable alternative to Bernie Sanders, the only contender honest enough to admit they want to complete President Obama’s promise/threat to fundamentally transforming America, the democrat establishment dragged him across the finish line.

And then their real intent is identified, “We’ll inspire a global movement of systemic change — a Global Spring — a cultural heave towards a new world order.” New World Order is, and always has been, code for world government. Their literature describes what siege means, “You dig in, hold

Biden as much as we are voting for ourselves. For the ability to redefine our future w/ someone in the White House who we can pressure into change.” (Emphasis added) And there you have it straight from the godmother of the Revolution.

A vote for Biden is a vote for “a candidate who can be most effectively pressured into allowing more space for the evolving anti-racist movement.” A candidate who is “far more likely to take mass demands seriously.” And a candidate who is, “far more likely than the current occupant of the White House” to cave-in to the demands of ANTIFA, BLM, and the other socialist revolutionaries rampaging in our streets.

Conversely, a vote for Trump is a vote for someone who will stand up against the revolution and fight to preserve truth, justice, and the American way.

Vaccines in the Time of the Chinese Coronavirus

or decades Russians have been spreading misinformation and rumors to discourage Americans and Europeans from taking vaccines, and China and Iran have more recently joined the anti-vaccine misinformation efforts.

Frightening Americans of vaccines has resulted in many unvaccinated Americans. Those who have not been vaccinated are much more susceptible to preventable diseases like the flu and measles, which weakens the United States with people ill from preventable illnesses while also making us far more susceptible to germ warfare.

We have experienced this vulnerability with the purposeful spread of the Chinese Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the United States and Europe by the Chinese Communists.

Politicizing COVID-19 has produced many preventable illnesses and tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths.

Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, the American people were told not to wear masks. This was because Obama had depleted our mask stockpile and there were fears medical professionals would not have effective protective masks.

This was a national deception and medical malpractice. Face coverings of any kind are more effective than no covering over our nose and mouth.

The use of such face coverings could

have prevented a shutdown and much illness.

Democrats have attacked Hydroxychloroquine, making absurd claims about the dangers of this very safe drug. Democrat Hydroxychloroquine hysteria has increased dramatically because President Trump and other Conservatives have successfully used Hydroxychloroquine.

Vaccines work by educating our immune systems to recognize and stop a serious disease without giving us the disease or making us severely ill.

Vaccines make our bodies think we are being attacked by an infectious virus or bacteria. Vaccines make our bodies somewhat ill, which directs our immune system to produce antibodies and T cells designed to kill a specific invading virus or bacteria. The illness caused by a vaccine is far less severe and dangerous than the disease itself.

Vaccines save about two to three million lives per year and have prevented thousands of abortions from Rubella

Syndrome. Vaccines have been used for centuries against smallpox and more recently against rabies, tetanus, diphtheria, polio, measles, and other deadly diseases that have all but vanished from the United States.

If someone does not want to receive a vaccine or a medication, they have their right to make that decision for themselves. They should, however, not try to frighten others from taking a vaccine or medication that could save their lives.

Can anyone name someone they know who died from the flu who had received a flu vaccine and both pneumonia vaccines? People who receive the flu vaccine may catch the flu, but they usually do not die from the effects of the flu. We are told that the flu vaccine is only 50% effective, but that is far better than 0%.

Can anyone name someone they know who has had smallpox or polio or died from rabies? This is because of the effectiveness of anti-viral vaccines.

Vaccines have eliminated smallpox from the earth, soon will eliminate polio, and hopefully will eventually eliminate COVID-19. In addition to preventing and reducing the severity of viral and bacterial diseases, vaccines are now among the most innovative and successful of the drugs used to treat and cure cancers.

entering the Phase 3 final stages of evaluation in human testing. Some will soon be ready for use. Hundreds of millions of doses of each of these promising vaccines are being manufactured as a part of Operation Warp Speed and will immediately be available for injection as soon as a vaccine is finally approved. Preparations have been made to efficiently and quickly administer each vaccine nationwide as soon as it is released for use.

As our immune system does its work, we may have a sore arm, fever, fatigue, chills, and a headache following a vaccine. These are signs that our body has recognized the vaccine as a dangerous invader, is attacking the invader, and is preparing our body to attack this invader should it return.

Vaccines are purposely toxic, so they elicit an immune response and protect against a much more deadly disease.

Vaccines are intended to make our bodies think we are being attacked by a deadly virus or bacteria.

Several COVID-19 vaccines will eventually be available. If one of the vaccines causes ethical or safety concerns, one can eventually choose a different vaccine. There should be vaccines acceptable to everyone.

Since vaccines do not produce actual diseases, our bodies may not pay much attention to them. To cause an adequate immune response, chemical substances called “adjuvants”

are added to vaccines to increase the immune response. Small amounts of aluminum are added to some vaccines as toxic irritants. These amounts of aluminum are minuscule when compared to the amount of aluminum in one dose of an antacid.

Formaldehyde is used to render live viruses and potent toxins harmless so the immune system will respond to the presence of the virus or toxin, but the body will not become ill from the actual disease. The minute amounts of formaldehyde that remain in the vaccine are harmless and add to the desirable irritant effect.

Thimerosal is not used as a preservative in any of the Chinese Coronavirus vaccines. Thimerosal is still present in some flu vaccines, but flu vaccines are available without Thimerosal.

Therapeutics and vaccines will bring COVID-19 under control and hopefully eliminate it just as vaccines eliminated smallpox and polio. Therapeutics and vaccines currently being developed to combat COVID-19 are also preparing us for the next possible epidemic, whether it is a deadly variant of the flu or a terrorist biological weapon.

Vaccinating large numbers of people will produce “herd immunity,” which also protects those who have not been immunized. If people who have been immunized surround persons who have not been immunized, the non-immunized persons have a lower chance of encountering someone with the disease who can infect them.

New therapeutic drugs are being used and developed to treat COVID-19, and these medications will be useful for other viral diseases. Therapeutic and vaccine technologies have developed rapidly because of COVID-19 and the necessity to bring the COVI-19 pandemic under control. What has been learned can be applied in the development of vaccines for other existing viral illnesses such as Zika, West Nile, and other viral illnesses that may arise naturally or be made in laboratories by those who intend to harm.

This is an exciting and historic time.

During the 1918 Flu Epidemic, there was no hope for new medications to treat the flu. Antiviral drugs, monoclonal antibodies, and flu and pneumonia vaccines were decades in the future.

Vaccines are an important part of our armamentarium of valuable therapeutic weapons to combat diseases, whether naturally occurring or

Planned Parenthood is Coming to Lubbock to Abort Our Children

ccording to KCBD, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, and most notably and initially, our State Senator, Charles Perry, Planned Parenthood has announced that they are hiring select positions for their new location in the City of Lubbock which will be announced later this year. Here is a portion of their statement, quoted from KCBD: “We recently posted for staff positions and are planning to announce the opening of a new Planned Parenthood health center in Lubbock later this year. In light of the history of harassment by extremists opposed to Planned Parenthood’s mission, it is our ongoing policy to not comment on

health center projects for security reasons…. For the past three years, a priority for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas has been to expand Planned Parenthood’s services in West Texas to increase access to affordable healthcare services including breast and cervical cancer screenings, HIV tests, testing and treatment for STIs, birth control…, and safe, legal abortion services.”

Planned Parenthood’s statement goes on to claim that Texas has “the highest percentage of uninsured residents of any state”. I did not need to verify this claim. I only needed to do two simple internet searches to find out if Lubbock has anything to offer the poor and the uninsured. I searched “women’s health Lubbock” and “pregnancy

Many of them offered free pregnancy tests and other services like ultrasounds, baby care items, parenting classes, and financial assistance. These sites featured inviting interfaces and gentle encouragements; pictures of homey-looking sitting rooms and smiling faces.

Most importantly, most of these locations, if not all, have medical doctors and nurses waiting to care for the women of Lubbock.

I mention this brief list of women’s services Lubbock has to offer to counter any argument that Lubbock needs a Planned Parenthood. Yes, Planned Parenthood may offer all of those services that they list before “safe, legal abortion”, but the establishment of a Planned Parenthood in Lubbock is not about Lubbock women’s need for healthcare; in contrast, Planned Parenthood wants Lubbock women

to pay them big money to abort their children.

We cannot allow this atrocious, murderous enterprise masquerading as an oasis for struggling women back into our town. Our duty to our God, our nation’s values, and to Life itself morally obligates us to prevent it at all costs. An author in this paper previously wrote concerning the likelihood of Planned Parenthood returning to the Lubbock area, and well folks, they are upon us. If we value Life and the lives of our community, the unborn babies of Lubbock, Texas, we will not allow Planned Parenthood to set foot in our city and gain access to our children.

Signposts Along the Way: Are We in the Twilight zone? easier, wiggle their way into our lives, into our kitchens, and even into our bedrooms as they market their goods and services and the most invasive and dangerous - they market their ideology.

Americans are trusting people because of nearly three centuries of stable government… of the people by the people and for the people. This kind of government stability is not shared by all peoples on the planet.

Those other forms of government change often but never deliver on promises of prosperity, liberty, and freedom. That luxury has only been provided in America and explains why people from all other nations of the world flock to the Land of Liberty.

e drive the highways and byways to get to our destinations and we’re assisted by signs along the way. Remember Rod Serlings’ “The Twilight Zone” TV show of the 1960s and 1970s? It was bizarre then and commonplace in today’s world. Over time more signs evolve because of new experiences and lessons learned. Most often it comes at a cost.

It has been said, “It’s costly wisdom that is bought by experience and experience is the name everyone gives their mistakes”.

My immigrant dad didn’t say that, but he lived it, and used to tell us kids “I don’t want you to make the same mistakes I’ve made”. He wanted us to learn from him and avoid the pain he had endured. I recall him giving me advice about marriage in terms of things that he had done with and for his first wife, that he HAD to do with his second, the first marriage would have worked. Wise words from dad and it makes my point about costly wisdom.

Today’s history lessons are real life and we must learn from those who came before us if we are to avoid the inevitable pitfalls already found and tested. It’s OK to try new things and different solutions to life’s problems but repeating old things that ended badly is foolish.

In the not so distant past, we lived through signs of warning when we learned about tyranny, fascism, communism, and other dictatorships. We learned about monarchies - Kings and Queens conjure up images of punishment for disobedience to the rulers’ demands when subjects

had to be tortured on the rack, beaten with whips and chains, shackled, and any barbaric means of control and punishment imaginable. There were too often evil rulers and the peasants, well, they weren’t important but rather were just slaves.

In today’s 21st century world, we are moved and manipulated by more subtle forces. We still have the rich and powerful in both celebrity and government, and we see the obvious signs that wealth and celebrity easily influence a doting public. But the powerful are really nothing more or less than the new modern monarchies of old. And then, of course, we still have the masses who are less important people in the eyes of the elite.

The tech world of today is used for a different kind of control by the movers and shakers, who employ methods of social engineering that is far cleverer than ever. Powerful, connected people own news outlets and control the newest phenomenon we call social media. Yes, we keep in touch with each other and the social engineers keep in touch with us.

They do their dirty work of censoring communication through all forms of media and spinning the

news through TV, radio, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, the movies, and songs. Those who provide these handy means of making our lives

It’s time to go back to church; rip off your goofy mask, whose only real purpose is to choke and subdue you and throw it away. Send the kids back to school; and, by all means, go back to work! The church, if yours is an actual Bible-believing and preaching one, is the most important mission to do first. Why? Because our would-be slavers are deathly afraid of meetings where the Holy Spirit will cause those gathered to be inspired and infused with realizations and reasoning! That is what our “controllers” really fear! They fear normal people stopping and asking themselves, “What’s being done to us and our country?” Another equally dangerous question

is: “Just who is really behind this ridiculous “lockdown” and “masking” nonsense?”

Dr. Fauci, along with a host of other promoters of the so-called “pandemic,” should be charged with malfeasance in office, criminal negligence, and conspiracy to commit medical injury. They should then be prosecuted, convicted, and jailed for their crimes! Negligent homicide should also be added to the list of infractions these perps have committed by knowingly preventing or restricting the administration of proven treatments for Covid-19 to the general public. Numerous times we have spoken of the dangers of financial gain becoming more important than the original medical mission of healing and doing no harm. Well, here is a perfect example of doctors and supposedly educated officials, willfully turning a

blind eye to available and affordable remedies for a serious sickness, in the pursuit of massive vaccine profits for themselves, their big pharmaceutical company masters, and the so-called Center for Disease Control. Look this up for yourselves: a huge portion of CDC revenues come from their vaccine patent royalties!

Right now, I (and we) am corresponding with a group of really informed and angry Americans, about the possibility of launching a class-action lawsuit on behalf of the American people, and going after Fauci, the CDC, the FDA, every state governor who has ordered the “lockdown” as well as the useless and harmful “masking” of the public; and let’s don’t leave out the irresponsible city mayors and council members who have been so stupid and irresponsible to go along with this mandated HOGWASH!! And while we are cleaning house, let’s include “Mr.vaccinate-every-person-on-the-planet” Bill Gates (vaccinate everyone, but himself, his family, and other globalists in cahoots, of course) and one George Soros, if we can get this in front of an honest jury.

Biden actually said this as he appeared with his VP pick, Kamala Harris.

They were pushing a nationwide mask mandate. If elected, Biden said he “would do everything possible” to ensure Americans wear masks in public. He claims the masks make a “gigantic difference,” and under his presidency, he will make wearing masks the law of the land.

The masks are not making a gigantic difference. Not against the coronavirus, anyway.

Cloth masks do not stop the virus at all and in fact, the constant mask fidgeting ensures viruses and bacteria will be transferred to the masks via dirty fingers. Constant mask-wearing is very bad for one’s health. It’s not good to breathe in one’s own CO2 all day.

Both Biden a nd T ru mp sa id mask-wearing is ‘patriotic.’ Anytime a politician tells citizens that an annoying mandate that compromises freedom is ‘patriotic,’ it’s always a huge red flag.

Wearing a mask is neither patriotic nor protective. It’s a sign of compliance.

The government gets to see what it can get away with and what we will tolerate. So far, most Americans are doing what they’re told in lockstep. They seem almost eager to exchange freedom for safety. They will get neither.

Our rights, once abandoned, are very difficult to retrieve without blood being spilled. If you don’t want to live in a country where you must PERMANENTLY wear a mask as you step out your door, the time to protest is now.

One Document Under Siege

Give me liberty, or give me death”, are famous words that Patrick Henry stated while organizing a militia in Virginia. The words that he spoke emphatically describes the situation that he and our Founding Fathers faced. They were more willing to die than to stay living in their current state.

There are many reasons why Colonial American’s declared their independence from Britain but based off of Patrick Henry’s statement; they can all be boiled down to gaining liberty.

The Founding Fathers went through a trial that most Americans will never face. They had to fight for their freedom. They understood what it was like being under a tyrannical government and they were willing to die for their freedom. They were willing to die for their opportunity of creating a far greater nation than what they had recently left. They understood the concept of change. They knew that they had to create a legal constitution that was fair and just to the people and not just for the government or else the nation that they fought for would be at great risk of falling under dictator rule.

elections, as in Gore/Bush were close and not resolved for weeks, and this one only by the Supreme Court. Would the media created mob act prematurely?

Of course, they already plan to. Their flyer says so. “We will not let Donald Trump steal the election!” Such an outcome is predictable. The revolutionist and their media outlets are setting the nation up for a second Civil War if this election is too close to call right away.

It should be interpreted this way because the Founding Fathers understood something that Americans do not fully understand today. The Founding Fathers understood what it was like being held under a rule of tyranny. Americans know what tyranny is, but it is not until one receives understanding with their knowledge that one can gain wisdom in a topic.

Thus, since American’s are fortunate to not reside under tyranny control, it is critical that American’s utilize another form of wisdom; to learn from the past and to learn from others. If American’s do not interpret the U.S. Constitution in the way that the drafters understood it, then Americans run the risk of losing a democratic society.

“Liberal legal scholars analyze the text (U.S. Constitution) just as closely to find the elasticity they believe the framers intended” (Stengel, 2011). Interpreting the U.S. Constitution this way opens the door for far too many insights and opinions that are directed by one’s circumstance rather than from the history of America. If this becomes the norm, then there would be significant negative consequences in how disputes are handled according to the U.S. Constitution rule of law.

Neilson (1947) provides great insight as he states, “Today our movements languish because the masses have not been told the reasons for them with the withering pungency that the pamphleteers aimed at the injustices and imbecilities of the politicians of their time” (p. 93).

Neilson wrote this statement in 1947, but it is still true in 2020. Far too many movements today are because it is trendy to do so. There is not much truth nor oppression behind these movements which is why they typically do not make any significant change; rather the movements keep dividing the country. If Americans review the U.S. Constitution based on what people

think the Founding Fathers meant, then the divisive emotions that are being demonstrated today will change the ethical environment for all businesses in a negative way. Laws will be created based on emotions rather than facts, which we are starting to see taking place repeatedly. The Founding Fathers understood oppression, and they created a constitution to keep American’s from going back to an oppressed state.

It is the duty of all American’s to trust in the Founding Fathers experience and uphold the U.S. Constitution in the manner that the Founding Fathers intended.

Americans. We believe that it is designed to bait President Trump into aggressive action that is likely to result in injury or death to someone which would be used to propagandize more escalation. Antifa is not above doing something like this. Bloodshed could then lead to another Civil War. Since the District of Columbia is constitutionally federal property thus federally managed, Trump could surround the White House with a second fence as with St John’s Church. We recommend the closure of the White House and Lafayette Square to the public until after the results of the

election are confirmed. Also, extend endangered parameters to up to a half-mile and enforce no camping in public. If the mob defies the closure, with drones or other emitters, spray the park as needed with skunk juice as the Israelis do to defer intruders on the Gaza Strip. Unwanted guests leave immediately as they cannot stand their smell and do not return for up to six weeks because the smell remains. Consider spraying a week before revolutionists arrive.

Otherwise, Madonna’s comment comes to mind, “Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the

White House” (Women’s March Jan. 21, 2017). If this comes off as their photo so graphically portrays, she and the revolutionaries may get their wish.

When Did We Stop Caring for Each Other?

t’s election season and the mass “unfriending” has begun. Friend against friend and family member against family member arguments are in full bloom and potentially creating relationship damage that may extend far past election season.

I grew up believing in the old adage, “Blood is thicker than water” and I always believed that friendships should be forever. I’m wondering ... “When did our political ideology become more important than our relationship with family and friends and our love for each other?

Relationships are important to me.

There isn’t an election nor any life event that would cause me to unfriend a friend or disown a family member. My love for those I care about transcends who they vote for. Because you believe something different does not mean you are my enemy. It just means we disagree. No problem. Some people like pepperoni on their pizza while others prefer sausage. Why is that different than one person is voting for Biden while another is voting for Trump?

I’m not making light of the weight of the voting decision but am saying disagreeing on an election should not be relationship damaging. Why should a disagreement negatively impact the love we feel for one another?

I’m hearing with great regularity how families are being torn apart by this election and this pandemic. I heard recently about how a friend posted a very passive comment about the current state of the nation and then was attacked publicly online by her daughter.

Are you kidding me? Shame on anyone who will publicly scorn a loved one because they see things differently! I sadly heard this morning of a son who told his parents over the weekend, “You are dead to me!” Really? Over political differences?

What has happened to us?

Look no further than the great mask debate. I believe wearing a mask in public protects others. There are no absolutes and masks are not foolproof.

Common sense tells me that anything that reduces the amount of mouth aerosol into the air cuts down on the risk of transmission. I posted this online and was attacked by others. I won’t repeat the name-calling, but here’s some of what I was told ...

“What’s wrong with you? Forcing me to wear a mask is a violation of my rights.”

There’s nothing wrong with me but I’m curious about everyone else’s rights not to breathe your spray. Do we not have rights?

“You of all people (meaning me) should know better! Little children get their emotional cues from your

facial expressions.”

Me of all people? Well, don’t wear a mask at home, but until we get control of this pandemic, it won’t hurt you or your children to make a small sacrifice.

In fact, I think it’s a great opportunity for a learning experience for our kids. Maybe teach them about social responsibility?

“This is all a government conspiracy to take away my rights.”

Maybe I’m in the dark, but I don’t believe there’s a government conspiracy to take away anyone’s rights in this case.

Here’s my favorite ...

“A mask only protects you from me. It is not for my protection, so why should I wear one?”

Again ... When did we stop caring about each other? I willingly wear a mask to protect you. Why would you not do the same for me? Have we really become that selfish?

And before you send me a study saying masks don’t work, be aware there are a plethora of studies saying they do. I think the best sources I’ve read say masks are not foolproof but will provide a 65% reduction in the chances to transmit or catch the virus. I think 65% is well worth the inconvenience of wearing a mask in public.

My faith tells me that the greatest commandment is to love each other as we love ourselves. I don’t think it

power. But now the world’s population is pushing 8 billion and that puts strains on the environment, food production and clean water.

The challenges are great but the solution of those in power consider clever ways to reduce the scourge of humanity.

Now consumers have become a threat to the world and the rich and famous crowd see themselves as the saviors of the world. So, they find more civilized ways of reducing the population. Natural disasters are

now embellished and assisted by man-made disasters or even outright extermination.

I think we all know that Mao Tse Tung killed 60 million or more Chinese - his own people. Joseph Stalin killed 20 to 30 million Russians - his own people. Murders like this and others caused the bloodiest century ever toping 100 million people who didn’t behave as the power elite demanded. Remember when Mao passed a law limiting one child per family? That was effective to curb

means we should only love those who vote as we do or agree with our opinions. I don’t think it means I shouldn’t wear a mask to protect others, even if it doesn’t protect me. It means exactly as it says. We are to love each other as we love ourselves.

I love you enough to wear a mask in public. Won’t you do the same for me?

Life is too precious and so very fragile.

We have no guarantees for tomorrow.

Can’t we choose to love our neighbor while we are here?

They are using mind control through a manufactured crisis instilling fear to achieve their goals of one world domination. The power elite meets in places like Davos and other prestigious venues to plan devious ways to deal with an ever-growing population – the new “Final Solution”.

However, if there was any good news it is that the common man meets around the kitchen table, during vacations and holiday gatherings, birthday parties, and other family get-togethers. The Harley motorcycle riders gather at concerts and other destinations of interest.

Some meet at church and parties where they talk and share ideas, concerns, and fears ever-present on the news.

So, in the final analysis, it is us against them. All the world is a stage Shakespeare wrote, and the players in the current play are folks you know and some you don’t know. Old rich white guys like George Soros, Bill Gates, Al Gore, and even Pope Frances. Nearly all the Democrat party in America is included and the RINO’S in Washington, DC are all lining up in lockstep order waging war on We the People Well, I’m betting on We the People to win this global war and I believe the silent majority has been misunderstood and misjudged. I believe

they have finally been awakened to the plans of a creepy crowd of maniac’s hell-bent on grand schemes of controlling the entire world.

Face it, the average ma n a nd woman are only interested in one thing. They want to raise their families. They desire to feed, clothe, provide shelter, and to bond and have a little family fun and, of course, experience the joy of accomplishment that is basic to us all. We the People usually have limited resources and thus have limited power which is simply our free will.

What the world rulers have forgotten is that such dastardly deeds require lurking in the shadows and never reveal their true intentions.

We the People perceive the ‘webs they weave” and know that absolute power corrupts absolutely.

We gave them trust and power, and they have abused that trust and we’ve finally had enough.

Enough is enough and too much is nasty.

heard so much about of late is the matter of slavery and no one can be proud of that part of our history. It was an abomination that started in the colonies 257 years before America had even become a country but was summarily abolished only 80 years after that at a cost of 700,000 lives in a tragic civil war. A new country faced a major inherited flaw, embarked on a sacrificially radical process to correct it and then somehow came back together as a country even though it wasn’t perfect. Too bad that so many folks can’t focus on the exceptional outcome instead of the flawed history.

But that’s only one of the issues anti-exceptional people bring up. There are many things they are unhappy about and that’s because there’s actually a spiritual problem at the root of all their complaining. You see, America is exceptional because it was

www.CaprockPatriot.com founded as a Christian nation and built on a foundation of Bible-based principles and values. I know that a lot of people don’t want to acknowledge this aspect of our history, but the truth is what it is forever. And, it can’t be changed!

Being a nation built on a Biblical foundation doesn’t mean everything that goes on in it will be utopian. Being exceptional doesn’t mean any of our people will be perfect or that any of us will ever experience even a perfect moment. But that foundation along with the freedom that only comes with the presence of God make it possible for unmatched individual growth and development and success. Moreover, have you ever considered that for the past 400 years, God has used America as the launch place for the greatest worldwide harvest of souls in the history of the planet? Billions of lives have been saved for eternity because of American exceptionalism!

Here’s the crux of it: people who are anti-God and anti-Bible attack the idea that America is exceptional because exceptionalism validates the influence of God in our history. Almost all of them believe they are arguing a political issue, but it’s really a spiritual issue and they are at odds with God and His Bible. It’s His testimony to the world: America has been exceptional as a positive consequence of our historical reliance on God. By attacking exceptionalism, they purpose to do damage to the idea of divine involvement in the affairs of America and to our continued Christian influence in the world.

Unfortunately, most of the people who can’t see American exceptionalism are also unable to see God, and that’s the real tragedy. It’s tragic because they are rejecting Jesus, the one person who could make them into exceptional people with exceptional prospects. However, instead of despising the people who decry our

exceptionalism, who mock God and think they can do something better and smarter, instead of giving up on all those people, we’re called to love them, to lovingly but forcefully and purposefully resist their agenda and to pray for the truth of exceptionalism to get through to them before time runs out.

OLD SALT: Don’t Tell Me What to Do!

In a Perfect World Case 1: How would you like to live in a world where everyone can do whatever they darn well please? Is that the utopia of your dream? Some would consider that “perfect world” their nirvana.

Nirvana, in Buddhism, is basically a state of nothingness. For me, that indicates you are dead.

Case 2: Maybe you prefer an orderly world, one where the ground rules are well established. In this orderly world, people live by a common set of values and laws that apply equally to all. Individuality is encouraged and applauded so long as each person follows the moral and basic codes. In this world of one for all and all for one, freedom is found in the individual’s ability to excel and prosper based on personal initiative.

Equality is found in being born free and with a chance to excel, no more or less, as this is the only birthright. The people then appoint worthy leaders to maintain and secure this basic framework. You are alive and free!

In the first case, e.g. nirvana, you should recognize this as the anarchy that has taken over states like Oregon and New York or cities like Portland, Seattle, and Minneapolis, and even to some extent Atlanta. Do you want that for your loved ones?

In the second case what is described is a representative democracy. I will hazard a guess that our founders had

this simple idea of organized individuality in mind. Out of that sprang the greatest country in history. I challenge anyone to identify any place on earth to compare with the American opportunity. For example, an aircraft carrier, or any Navy ship, has many divisions, a diversity of people all under one law, one authority. What would go wrong if one or more of the crew or officers had an attitude of “Don’t Tell Me What to Do!”. Shipmate, that is what anarchy is

all about and is the very attitude being capitalized on by the far-left politics.

The actors in this charade are manbabies and Karen’s being egged on and controlled by hidden Democrat activists. It’s all kabuki theatre where the real goal of this madness is hidden.

Don’t Tell Me What to Do! Unfortunately, we in America have had it so good for the last fifty years we have raised several generations of the “Me” generation. I am referring to those having no appreciation of our history because either they were not taught or were fed some revisionist pablum. The so-called “peaceful protesters” and rioters in Democrat bastions are clueless tools being used by puppet masters behind the curtain.

Special Forces: Training to Free the Oppressed, Part II

The second story of an 11-part series sharing the very personal story of one Long Range Recon Green Beret and his time in Special Forces training.

Ralph and I walked around after breakfast seeing the sights and then went back to the day room (TV room for all of the dorms in the building) and visited with the few men who had arrived during the night and that morning. Some had arrived late and missed breakfast. I told them that the Mess Hall was open 24/7 here. About half the men left to go eat.

I sat and watched TV. A luxury! It had been over 10-months since I had seen a television. I had almost forgotten about TV. I didn’t know the rules for changing the channel, so I just watched it. Not Ralph, the puppy dog, he just went to the TV and started changing channels. A howl of protest went up from the men who had been watching the show.

“Hey, stupid, we were watching that, one short man complained.”

Ralph turned around and with no anger, no malice, no sarcasm, said, “Ok. Ok. I was just checking to see how many channels it had. Don’t get your panties in a wad.” He returned the TV to its original channel.

That was the first time for me to hear that term, “get your panties in a wad”.

I liked it. It did not insult but implied female. But I have used it a lot over the years.

As Ralph sat down, he said, six channels. We had 14 in L.A. Short man said, keep it quiet. We are trying to watch the show. I didn’t like short man but he was in the right. You have to respect, being in the right, regardless if you like them or not.

Ralph replied, “Ok, Ok I will shu.......”

Honk, Honk!!!!

Honk, Honk!!!!

Ralph spring up fast and raced for the door. He looked outside then back

at me with a huge smile on his face, arms spread wide with two thumbs up, “She found me, Wayne. She tracked me down.”

As Ralph raced out the door, short man said, “Damn fool got some girl with him.” NOTE: He didn’t say ‘girl’ – but I won’t write what he said!

I looked short man dead in his eye, death flashing out of my eyes and said, “We should all be so lucky.” Short man was in the wrong. He looked away.

I had too much anger boiling inside of me trying to get out; not to hurt but to kill. My eyes and body language screamed my rage. On the outside, I was cool, calm, and deadly. Inside I was a massive storm of rage.

Ralph came back in and waved to me to come outside. He led me to the VW van and introduced me, “Liz this is my best buddy Wayne. Wayne this is my lovely, genius, sexy, wife, Liz.” After hellos, Ralph said, “Get in Wayne.

We’re gonna go see the sights.”

I did not want to be a third wheel, nor did I want to get into another car until I checked out how they drove.

I declined and watch Liz take off.

I went to my dorm room and read my mountain man book.

After a couple of hours, short man came in. I got up and introduced myself and stuck out my hand for a handshake.

“My name is Sims.” He took my hand and immediately applied pressure to my hand. I let my hand go limp in his hand. He smiled and applied more pressure. I stared him in the eye unflinching. He applied more pressure trying to get a reaction out of me. I stood my ground and let him expend the strength in his hand. When his hand began to give out, I felt him start to release pressure on my hand.

In an instant, I flexed every muscle in my hand and forearm. I caught him totally off guard. I felt the bones in his palm roll in on themselves as he went to his knees. I did not apply more pressure because I had no more pressure. I had used everything I had in me.

Sims was still on his knees when Ralph walked in. I released Sim’s hand.

Hell, my Dad had taught me that trick when I was 12 years old.

Sims stood up and said, “I am a black belt in Kung Fu.”

I replied, “I am a baseball bat in the middle of the night while you sleep.”

I pegged Sims for what he was; a braggart who CLAIMED to be a Kung Fu Master; assigned to my dorm room.

I wrote Sims off for what he was, a bully, coward who had a huge small man complex.

Ralph never said anything to me about the incident nor did Liz or anyone else.

My respect for Ralph went up a notch.

For the next two days the four dorm buildings filled up, but no one showed up to tell us what to do.

Ralph, Liz, and I drove all over the Post. I only had to ask about the library, museum, anything. They were eager to go there and just as excited as I was. Liz had spent all of 20 minutes looking at a map of not only the Post but the City of Fayetteville. I was so in awe of her and her photographic memory. I had never heard of such a thing.

I ask her how she did it. She said she did not know. She just knew. I ask her about test-taking. She told me she could read any book about any subject and make a 100% on any test. Then she explained that what she had was the total recall of facts but when it came to comprehension and applying those facts, that I would be better than her.

Ralph had found out through Headquarters that we didn’t need passes to leave the Post. We only had to be in uniform to come and go without passes. A pass was required if we were in civilian clothes. The rule was to be back in the dorm room by 1:00 am.

What Ralph and I did was wear our uniform shirt and hat when going in and out of the Post Guard House. We could change in and out of the uniform shirt and into civies very fast.

I put gas in the van, and we drove all over town.

Ralph and I were paid $315 a month.

shelter and money for school. I had $100 a month sent to my Dad and $100 to my savings account. Out of the remaining $115 I spent most on maintaining my uniforms and with the leftover I purchased books, etc. I did not drink nor smoke, so I got by nicely.

Ralph and Liz did not smoke or drink, but their budget was very tight because they were saving all they could for college for the two of them. Liz had found a converted single car garage to live in.

No way could I ask Elise to live so simply. So, hand to mouth. It depressed me. Even if Elise was willing I just could not; my pride was not greater than my love, but I just could not.

I made a decision for Elise; that was the second biggest mistake in my life.

On Saturday at 10:00 am an E8 Sergeant (3 strips above 3 strips below) showed up and posted a schedule on the day room bulletin board. He casually said to those of us in the room, “Tell everyone to read this schedule.

If anyone misses any scheduled class, they can pack their bags and report to Headquarters to be shipped out immediately. You are men. We will treat you like men who are responsible.

We demand you to be responsible. Go and party all you want, drink all you want, you mess up, even one time, you are out of here. Smoke all you want BUT under no circumstance will you smoke or drink in your dorm room or this building.”

He paused to let our minds catch up.

“You are men. There are four of you in a room. You four are responsible for what goes on in your dorm room.

One of you smoke or drink in the dorm room then every damn one in that room, pack your bags, and get out.

You take care of your problems in your dorm room. You are men. Do not come whining to us about your petty problems. Any questions?”

“Each dorm room will elect a dorm room representative and only he will

If the room rep takes petty stuff to the First Sergeant, look out, because he has kicked men out of Special Forces for sneezing. Are there any questions?”

I said, “How do we deal with problems between rooms Sergeant.”

The Sergeant sighed, “Are you an over-thinker Private?”

“Sir, Yes Sir, over-thinker underachiever Sir.” I thought my reply would have been greeted with approval as had been the case from day one of me joining the Army.

“Private, you are not in grade school anymore. I am not an Officer. I am a Sergeant and will be addressed as Sergeant. You will find no egos here so no more of those mind games.”

The Sergeant continued, “Any problems between dorm rooms will be handled between the room reps or the First Sergeant. Any more questions?”

There were no more questions.

“Ok then. Remember this. Your first responsibility is to yourself. Get to posted classes on time. Second, you are responsible for your dorm room. Third, you are responsible for the trouble-free operation of this building.”

I was so grateful that I had been present with the Sergeant to hear what he said directly. Any time you are having people, telling people, telling people, you have a mess.

I read the schedule. Tomorrow, Sunday, we had testing all day. We had to pass the Special Forces Equivalency Acceptance test before we could begin Special Forces Training. I was in shock.

You mean after all I had been through, I was not in Special Forces yet?

For those who passed the test, Monday was uniform issue and Orientation classes. It was to be a busy week. Some days we were scheduled from 8:00 am until 10:00 pm.

Special Forces was a whole new ball game.

Sims had been present as had

Walter our fourth roommate. Ralph was out with Liz at a church bingo and their free lunch.

Ralph returned about 1:00 pm and as we were all present in the room, I told Ralph all that the Sergeant had said.

When I got to the part about smoking in the room Sims interrupted me, “To hell with him telling us what we cannot do in our own damn room.”

“Sims you got one thing right.” I said, “This is OUR room. Get rid of your cigarettes. If you smoke in OUR room the three of us will throw your butt through that door and we will not open the door before we do it.”

Ralph had my back and Walter didn’t know what was going on between Sims and me.

Sims said nothing. I said, “Ok I vote Sims as Room Representative. Ralph immediately agreed with me. Walter did not say anything, and Sims said, “I accept.”

In Response to the “Old Salt”

just read the Old Salt’s August a r ticle entitled “Not on my watch”. After reading the article, I can relate to his thinking.

As one who served on CVA-59 in the 1960s for a couple of weeks for Carrier Qualifications before shipping out to the Med on CVA-62, the Independence, for a 7-month cruise, I understand mid-watches.

A nightstick, flashlight, whistle, and clipboard showing the area to be guarded, seemed less than adequate if confronted by an evil Communist sneaking aboard.

As a little 3-striper, I did not have much say in the matter and as an AZ (Aviation Maintenance Administrationman) I normally stood watch in the hanger… dodging wings and ordinance mounts. How well I remember Sailors with stitches in their scalps and foreheads from bumping into well-secured aircraft. It took only one watch to understand Communist Russians were not the reason for eyes at night, but the Sailors most dreaded fear…FIRE! As a Christian, I also took my time on watch seriously and understood Sailors can sleep well while I am on duty. I made sure I knew where every fire extinguisher in my area was and what the type of extinguisher it was, where the alarm bell or button was, the dangerous areas, fuel supplies, any other combustibles, and who my superior was… which in my case, was almost everyone.

My cruise to the Mediterranean was 1963-64 and I was in the Med when Kennedy was killed.

Working in Ready Room 6 our teletype screen got active at about 2200 hours letting me know about the shooting. Being from Dallas I paid close attention. I was sitting at my desk about an hour before when the

ship’s horns blasted, “Stand-by for a Hard Port Turn”, which carriers seldom do. Planes must be anchored securely if the ship makes that turn.

We were sailing south out of Genoa Italy which we quickly realized set us on a course to the Black Sea… according to scuttlebutt (rumor for you landlubbers). The next morning, I went up on the flight deck to see a friend and found Marines guarding two A5 Vigilante aircraft.

For the uninformed, the A5 was the only bomber able to drop a hydrogen bomb and survive the blast… maybe.

Rather than nightsticks, they had M1 Carbines and 1911A1’s on their hips.

When I inquired to one Marine, he told me to, “Move along Sailor”, in a rather colorful language, letting me know he was serious.

When one realizes we could be at war with nuclear weapons, things get serious very fast. My friend was a plane captain in squadron VF-84, and he was told to be ready for anything. With my friend in serious mode, and the marine’s voice exuding authority, I quickly went to

my battle station in Ready Room 6.

After the teletype message, I had already made sure all our planes were ready to fly. We were VAW-33 an Airborne Early Warning Squadron and were the first off the deck and the last to land. Our job was to protect the ship from air attack, ships at sea, and submarines. To keep the logbooks on those EA-1E old Skyraiders (AD), I had to have a secret clearance. We joked about a million-dollar bird with 30-million in electronics on board.

Fo r t h e n e x t s e ve ra l w e e k s, STA N DI NG WATCH took on a totally different meaning. Some guys were issued firearms and the Marines looked mad. We shared our Ready Room with a Marine squadron and they too seemed more focused.

No shots were fired, no war plans issued, no body-counts, the world managed to survive, and life went on. But I did lose a good friend in a launch accident. Chip gave his life to save his pilot. The bridle broke on launch sending the plane over the side in the middle of the night,

landing on its canopy. Chip held the pilot as long as he could, then with no strength left, held his pilot in his outstretched arm above water while he drowned. The rescue boat pulled the pilot into the boat as Walter Edward Langley’s body slipped beneath the sea. He was located a few minutes later.

I can often see his face in someone on the street. We were on liberty together just two days before he died. A good catholic boy. The pilot told us what happened when he was brought back to the ship.

n a small town near Washington, DC, a barber opened his shop for business at precisely 0800.

A young enlisted Marine comes in, needing a “high and tight.” The barber asks the young Marine about his service, and a lot of small talk takes place.

After the haircut, the Marine opens his wallet and the barber says, “It’s on the house, Marine. Thanks for your service to this great nation.”

This “Don’t tell me what to do” attitude has reached a crescendo. I am sure you have spotted it in angry people with an attitude you see in daily life. Following are a few local examples I noted in the two weeks: Incident 1: TCU is home to the great Horned Frogs football team. The next morning as the man is opening his barbershop, on the doorstep he sees a box with an Army ball cap and a Thank You note.

Later that same day, a Master Chief comes in for a haircut. He is decked out in his full Navy dress blues.

The barber is impressed and again, the same things happen… small talk about the Navy.

When the Master Chief tries to pay, again the barber says, “Not required, Master Chief. It’s on the house.

Thank you for your service to this great nation.”

The next morning, as the barber arrives bright and early to open his shop, there on his doorstep… stood three more Master Chiefs!

The player “Don’t tell me what to do”, pointing out his color, stated he had a right to use that expression at will at which Coach Patterson advised the hotshot he could easily be shipped back to his northern state. The player went public making all kinds of false claims. The coach had truth and 25 stellar years at TCU behind him. TCU executives backed Coach and “Don’t tell me what to do” decided to shut up and play football.

Incident 2: Whataburger is a classic Texas burger and fries place. Last week a customer observed a server wearing a Black Lives Matter facemask.

Correctly the customer questioned the Manager who said she was unaware of the offense as that is against the uniform code. The Manager reminded the employee she is required to wear the company supplied mask and offered the offending employee a fresh mask. Little Miss “Don’t tell me what to do” stated her right to wear the BLM insignia at will. Correctly the Manager informed the employee Whataburger is a purveyor of good burgers and fries not a distributor of social justice. The employee insisted on her right and was told she must follow the company rules. The smart

“Don’t tell me what to do” stated she will just give her 2-week notice. The manager thanked her and told her she was relieved immediately. It was necessary to have the police remove the clueless ex-employee. One local talk show host wisely said the NFL, NBA, and MBL should take lessons from the Whataburger manager who stated we are here just for burgers and fries. Seems NFL, NBA, and MBL have forgotten they just sell entertainment, not social justice.

Incident 3: Braum’s Ice Cream and Dairy is a Texas staple for great food and ice cream. Two days after the Whataburger incident the manager of a Braum’s in Fort Worth had a disagreement with a family enjoying a late-night treat for the kids. Seems the manager, maybe having a bad day, was upset because the family was still there at closing time. That interaction alone wouldn’t have been a big deal to the party, all of whom are black, the customer said. But the manager, who is white, followed them outside to continue his argument before referring to the customer’s friend by the N-word in front of everyone including the 4-year-old, leaving the 22-year-old father “in disbelief.” The SEE OLD SALT | PAGE 31

customer pulled out his phone to start taking video as soon as the manager came up to their car. “Go back inside.

I don’t care,” the customer’s friend can be heard saying in the video from the passenger seat of their car. “You racist little (N-Word),” the manager says in response. “I’m sorry if that offends you ma’am”, the customer’s friend said. That exchange cost the Manager a job the next day. If you are having a bad day, you cannot attack the customer, you can’t take it outside.

AND, you sure can’t (and shouldn’t!) apply the N-Word. We all need to adjust our attitude toward others, and we all need to applaud when the offended person or group maintains their cool and finds a peaceful way to a resolution. Too bad the Manager lost the job the next day. It’s a hard lesson, the customer is always right even if he is wrong. This customer did right in not

overreacting.

Incident 4: The Dallas Cowboys (Formerly Americas Team). Today Jerry Jones reneged on his promise to forbid any disrespect to the American flag, our National Anthem, or any other patriotic representations. He indicates he has caved to his millionaire “Don’t tell me what to do” football players. He now indicates he is applying the word “Grace”, thus allowing those who wish to disrespect the Flag to kneel and those who feel a need can show respect.

Obviously, Jerry Jones lacks the cojones of a Whataburger manager.

Believe me, as an 82-year-old who has been around the block a few times I have seen this “Don’t tell me what to do” sickness growing since 1965. The Democrat’s hunger for power and inability to accept the will of the people has now brought us to the brink of becoming a dystopian society. Their foot soldiers are

I hope that since our last conversation you have been reflecting upon my words and on what sorts of actions and lifestyle changes that you might need to change. To jog your memory, we begin our lengthy conversation on the Second Amendment and the responsibilities that it grants to those who claim it as a right. that fall under that term “arms,” and made a point to acknowledge our faults of not fully taking the amendment to heart. I also said that within the coming weeks and months we will discuss these topics and what they mean for our lives. Today we begin to dive a bit deeper.

However, before we do, I want to make it known that I am just a regular citizen. I have no prior military or LEO experience. I’m just a regular guy who enjoys firearms, worked at a gun store, and wants to make sure that we don’t continue down the path of complacency that I see us treading.

So today, let’s begin our conversation about guns.

As many of you know, there are about a million different types of guns for a million different situations. EDC guns, truck guns, hunting rifles, service weapons, and home defense guns are just a few of the categories we find that require different types of firearms. In our own ways, we all discovered each of these areas in our life that we would prefer to have a firearm.

Anti-Gun Liberals and Common Sense

A

n angry extremist Muslim rented a van then drove into a crowd killing at least 10 and injuring 15 others. Did liberal gun haters shout “VAN VIOLENCE”? Did they mention how many millions of us own vans or maybe even assault vans? If it has a big V8, mag wheels, a flame paint job, maybe it could be considered an assault van. To be technical, an assault rifle must be selective-fire, meaning it can be switched to fully automatic or at least 3 shot bursts.

Did anyone notice the media was interested in his mental state? No reporter said anything bad about the van in question. They mentioned it was white but did not place any blame on it. They have enough common sense to understand the van is an inanimate object and does not have feelings or animus toward anyone.

The van is simply a tool the bad guy used improperly… the same as a crazy person misusing a gun. There is one big difference though, the gun can be used to STOP violence against innocent citizens and is used that way often, by police and good citizens.

Because no crime is committed if a citizen uses a gun to stop a crime, the incident is often not reported, and the world is not aware of the protection the gun provided. See John Lott PHD on-line.

Now, for those phony statistics used by liberals to show how many innocent Americans die each day by guns, let us look at facts. Many are gang shootings and bad guy on bad guy. Each year at least 200,000 times a gun is used to stop a bad guy from committing a crime. That stat does not include those times a good guy with a gun simply shows it to the bad guy, thereby stopping the robbery, rape, murder, etc., before it ever happens.

knife, which is common and called a weapon-of-opportunity, and a reporter calls it “knife” violence. They would be fired…except maybe in California. Should housewives turn in their knives? What if they have one of those wooden block knife-holders with many styles of knives like my wife has. Is she in possession of a dreaded “High Capacity” knife magazine? Should she be required to register her knives? What about a 5-day waiting period to purchase a knife or a limit on how many she can own? Maybe they should be kept in a gun safe until needed. Maybe all knives should have removable blades that must be kept out of the handle until ready to use. What about a lockable sheath that is child proof? Would that make them safe enough?

When a baseball bat is used to do serious harm or kill, has any reporter called it “baseball bat” violence? I doubt it.

Guns are tools that serve a serious purpose like a kitchen knife, and either can be used to commit crimes.

Take a serious look at history and one finds knives were the weapon of choice before the gun was invented.

Long knives are swords but still blades. After the gun was invented, some military person stuck a knife on the end of it and called it a bayonet. Once the fighting closed to short

distances, hand-to-hand combat started with the bayonet being a large part of death and bloody fighting. But I have never heard a reporter suggest banning knives, registering them, requiring a 5-day waiting period to purchase one, limiting how many one can own, or blaming the knife for the death of a human being.

If one uses a knife, baseball bat, automobile, poison, electrical shock, pushes another off a tall building, or bores them to death with long rhetoric… like this article, the PERSON doing the deed is held responsible and should be… except for me. I am doing a service to the community explaining common sense… which seems

to have left the building with Elvis in liberal democrat gun discussions.

For full disclosure, I am a retired federally licensed gunsmith who worked for a police department, had my own gun range for 21 years, and have studied firearms and their use for decades.

e all appreciate our Second Amendment rights! But, in today’s climate, finding ammo can at times be frustrating and expensive. Enter archery!

Archery is addictive! Once the archery bug bites, most archers can’t seem to get enough of it.

The first time you release an arrow and watch it soar through the air is magical. It’s a captivating experience, even if your arrow completely misses the target.

One of the best things about Archery is that regardless of strength, sports ability, fitness, or weight; anybody can become a great archer with practice.

If you’ve tried archery or want to try

archery, you’ll be happy to learn that it’s very easy to get started. Finding the time, equipment, and place to shoot is easier than you may realize.

When starting archery, you’ll need to invest in archery gear, a place to practice (like the Archery shack indoor range), and archery lessons. All of this sounds expensive, but archery doesn’t have to be pricey. You can custom-tailor your experience to match your budget.

Beginning archery enthusiasts will want to start with target-shooting practice. We caution beginners to not go to a big box store to buy your first bow. There are several types of bows and you’ll want help from a pro archer to get the best set up for you.

Compound bows are the most technological of your choices, identified by the string and pulley system and the way the bow curves back toward the shooter. They shoot faster and straighter than other bows. Most are lightweight and made of carbon.

Recurve bows are named for the way the tips of the bow curve away from the shooter. More traditional-looking than compound bows, recurve bows have fewer moving parts and shoot in a higher arc – think Robin Hood!

They can be made of traditional wood or high-performance carbon.

Which is best for beginners? It depends. Compound bows are easier

to shoot for most beginners because, while they take significant force to begin the draw (say 70 pounds of force), they take significantly less force to

Recurve bows take the same amount of force for the whole draw, which means that beginners have to concentrate on holding their draw and aiming simultaneously. However, depending on the bow size, recurve bows may be easier to use all around (and may be best for children).

We recommend you try out multiple bows before you invest! We can measure you and fit you with the right equipment. Your bow’s draw length, which is simply the distance measured from a bow at rest and a bow drawn, needs to be compatible with your arm length. It’s also important that you choose a bow with a draw weight that you can manage. You want to choose the highest weight you can

www.CaprockPatriot.com shoot comfortably. If it’s a big strain, it’s too heavy a weight. It is especially critical that children have the proper draw weight. Finally, ensure that you have the correct brace height. If the grip of the bow is close to the string, you’ll have more speed but less forgiving accuracy, and vice versa.

What about arrows? Arrows can range in price, and almost all are made of carbon or fiberglass. More important than the materials, however, is that the arrows selected coordinate with your bow. We’ll help you purchase arrows made for use with the bow you chose.

Bottomline… When it comes to archery equipment, you have endless options that fit every budget, skill level, purpose, and person. Our professional staff can get you started in the right direction. Archery is a highly individualized sport, and your equipment is tailored to fit you perfectly.

carried guns, I actually didn’t become familiar with the reality of carrying a gun until I found myself influenced by a handful of companies/movements within the “gun community.” I didn’t find influence by gun manufactures themselves but rather by citizens who take their rights and responsibilities very seriously. If you are curious about these companies, and because I assume my audience to be one of curiosity and learning, the companies that I would point you to would be Trex Arms, Fieldcraft Survival, and Warrior Poet Society to name a few. If you are curious about a more professional approach to the things I talk about, I’d encourage you to look to them.

Let’s get to it then. Let’s talk about what guns that, in my opinion, you should own/carry. Let me also call you back to my disclaimer at the beginning of the article. I am no professional, but

I do listen closely to them. For the purpose of self-defense and the pursuit of the preservation of life (no, we are not talking about hunting because that is not what the Second Amendment is about) every American citizen ought to carry/own a quality handgun and a quality rifle for the purpose of meeting violence with force.

I won’t go into which manufacture, barrel length, or aftermarket gear to throw on to your firearms of choice.

There are plenty of YouTube videos that talk about that topic in length. I also won’t go into the training required to effectively and efficiently handle these firearms.

What owning and carrying these firearms helps to ensure is that the handler of these tools has some of the highest likelihood to defend themselves, defend their friends and family, and defend their community.

The interesting point of resistance that I have seen from most people who

claim to follow the 2A are the arguments of “I’ll never need a rifle that carries 30 rounds” or “I’ll never need a pistol with such a large magazine.”

Statistically, they’re actually correct.

However, when we again take a look at the responsibility given to us by the Second Amendment, we actually find that what the Founding Fathers were talking about wasn’t “I’ll never need that” but instead was “We ought to all have these things and the access of these arms never be encroached upon by the government.”

An individual no longer exists as a “soft target” when they carry a gun. A population no longer exists as a “soft target” when they are all properly armed. An individual also becomes capable of carrying out such noble deeds as defense and preservation of life when they are best properly-suited to do so.

Owning our firearms helps to ensure that. Carrying our firearms helps to ensure that.

As we close, I want to draw attention to the moral responsibilities we take on ourselves when we carry guns. Once we carry a weapon, we are now those who agree to be the protectors in our communities. We are the ones that swear to defend the churches we are members of, the schools we attend, the coffee shops we enjoy, etc. We are also the ones that are there to help defend our communities when chaos knocks on the door.

Looking at our currently sociopolitical climate, this isn’t some hypothetical situation anymore. So, as we continue on with our lives, let us examine and be aware of how we can step in more fully as defenders, protectors, and peacemakers.

n the state of California, we often have earthquakes—not the big kind (6.5+)—but the small tremors that are barely noticeable. A few towns away my friends might hear the dishes rattle or feel a slight jerk underneath their feet, while I’ve felt nothing. Was there an earthquake?

Yes, according to the Richter scale, which measures the magnitude of the quake. Do we stop what we’re doing and rearrange our schedule for the day? Probably not! Do we wonder when the next “big one” will shake all of California to provide Arizona with beach-front property?

Yes, depending on our belief in the data and the sources from which the data comes.

From what I’m learning, revival is much the same. Revival is not just one of those weekend events (although the events may bring many people to the awareness of their eternal destiny).

Historically, revival lasts for many years. It is like a groundswell among the people, eventually bringing exponential growth of those coming to faith in Christ as well as impacting the culture or region where the revival has taken place. Revivals are seen as the restoration of the church itself to a vital and fervent relationship with God after a period of moral decline.

in our nation and is there now a “push back” from those on the conservative right? Are we beginning to see signs of revival, revival we are praying for, and for which we have prayed for quite some time?

The concept of revival is derived from Biblical narratives of national decline and restoration during the history of the Israelites. In particular, narrative accounts of the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah emphasize periods of national decline and revival associated with the rule of various righteous and wicked kings. Josiah is notable within this Biblical narrative as a figure who re-instituted temple worship of Yahweh while destroying pagan worship.

Modern church historians have identified and debated the effects of various

national revivals within the USA and other countries. During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, American society experienced several “awakenings” around the years 1727, 1792, 1830, 1857 and 1882. More recent revivals in the twentieth century include those of the 1904–1905 Welsh Revival, 1906 Azusa Street Revival, 1930s Balokole, 1970s Jesus people, 1971 Bario Revival.

Robert Jones, CEO of the Public Religion Research Institute states, “I am struck by the high level of anxiety and worry on all fronts. There are many obvious causes of national nervousness: terrorism, crime, and domestic unrest, political divisiveness and manipulation, economic woes, and moral collapse, to name a few. Yet there is unidentifiable angst in the national

His self-perception may become one of inadequacy, despite the intelligence and abilities with which he is endowed.

He expects that he will fail at anything meaningful. “Meaningful,” however, is defined by anything at which he fails to support his life view. The things he succeeds at become trivial...the things he fails at are the only ones that matter!

I have seen doctors that have felt like they were not “good enough” because they were not surgeons. And surgeons who were disappointed in themselves for not being heart surgeons. Even a heart surgeon who was suicidal because he was second in his class. His

father, also a physician who was first in his class, referred to him throughout his life as his “number two son” even though he was the first-born. There was nothing he could achieve that would alter his biased self-perception.

Often, people will “unknowingly” marry someone who will continue to reinforce the private beliefs they hold about themselves, others, and the world at large. A person who likes control, marries someone passive while an individual who has been “led” all their life chooses a “commander.”

Theopolitics and the 2020 Elections

Y

ou, as an American citizen, will have the opportunity to vote in the next Presidential election, the 59th election since the founding of this great nation in 1776.

Local, state, and federal candidates will be on the voting booth ballots.

As voters, we will be asked to trust that our votes will be honestly recorded and counted.

Our form of government exists as a “We the people” republic only as long as its citizens trust that those officials, they elect, will make laws that protect the inalienable rights gifted to them by the Almighty God revealed in the Bible.

From a book titled How Civilizations Die, by David Goldman, comes the important idea that, as patriots, we must come to understand theopolitics. Theopolitics is the study of the powerful impact that religious beliefs and aspirations have on world events.

Especially the impact on American presidential elections. Another must read book, written in the year 2020, titled The Iron Triangle, by Vincent Everett Ellison, explains how and why the Black preacher, Black civic organizations, and Black politicians are the trifecta that keeps a stranglehold on 90-percent of the African American vote for Democrats.

Civilizations and nations begin to die when the people lose faith in the God

who created them. When people begin to put more faith in their government houses than their prayer houses, they begin to embrace self-destructive behaviors. When Biblical foundations begin to crumble, i.e. prayers in school, killing of babies in the womb, and the marriage of one man and one woman for a lifetime, a culture cannot long survive.

The Democratic party desires to proudly transform our country by destroying everything that has made our nation great. “Blessed by God is the nation whose God is the Lord” warns Psalm 33:12.

Vincent Ellison is a black author who does a marvelous job of laying out the long history of the Black community in America. He summarizes how the “sins of pride, unforgiveness, and envy are front and center in Black America,

while guilt and condemnation confounds much of America” (pg 171) He utilizes and explains how the psychiatric terms called “Stockholm syndrome and cognitive dissonance” play such a powerful role in shaping the voting

behaviors of the Black community in America. Even though the Black community remains strong in their Christian beliefs, they vote into office those Democrats that publicly mock and legislate against those beliefs.

Both authors remain hopeful of America’s future as a nation remains willing to heed the warnings of prophetic voices, crying out in the wilderness of our screens found everywhere.

Watchmen, like the Caprock Patriot, faithfully shout out encouragement to those who remain on the front lines of this cultural battle for the soul of our nation.

n 2015, I began to formulate thoughts about a second U.S. Civil War. If something fundamental did not change, I mused, we were on a course to domestic conflict. Only the absolute capitulation of those on the “Right,” (conservatives, libertarians, Republicans, Christians, Constitutionalists) would prevent this. That was the trajectory we are on in 2020.

The 2016 election of Trump confounded my pessimism; there was, in fact, half the country who saw through the lies of the Left and were willing to vote accordingly.

The political Right has real potential to resist the Left, but we lack organization. And money. All the money on the Right has been going to status quo organizations like the Republican Party, and “traditional” oppositionists (those who speak against the Left, but quickly fold when it is time to lay down their cards). The Republican Party has retreated every step of the way.

If the Right finds a backbone, war is coming. The Left won’t concede — they have painted themselves into a moral corner with no way out. If the Left (BLM, Antifa, the leadership of the Democrat Party) makes peace with the so-called Nazis and racists

then they betray themselves.

But we aren’t quite there yet.

Many are afraid of conflict. This is why we are silent. Who doesn’t want to get along? Who doesn’t want to

CHRISTIAN CLERGY AND THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION Part III: The Story of Pastor Thomas Allen

T

his is the third in a series about the special Ministers who were called the “Black Regiment” during the Revolutionary War. They thundered from their pulpits that LIBERTY is a God-endowed “unalienable” right that mankind is entitled to pursue, enjoy, and protect.

Did the Bible not plainly say that wherever the Spirit of God is present, there is FREEDOM (2 Corinthians 3:17)? To 18th century America, the mostly Christian population had briefly tasted FREEDOM and they didn’t want to lose it. Many of their pastors led the way and rallied their congregations to defend and protect this valuable gift that God has made available to all mankind but so few have taken up.

The British military officers were the ones who first called them the “Black Regiment” referring to the vestments they wore mostly for their church services. But they didn’t just preach on Sundays about resisting English oppression. Indeed, many of these special Pastors were directly involved in related political and military activities including the development of local militias of their congregants that helped defeat the strongest military power in the world of their day.

This month’s article considers the heroics of “The Fighting Parson,” Thomas Allen, Pastor of the Pittsfield Massachusetts Congregational Church for 46 years starting March 5, 1764, at the age of 21. His personal accomplishments are too numerous to cover in this limited space but it’s an honor to mention some of the most famous that so few of us know about because we don’t teach these things anymore.

When the Revolutionary War began

in the Spring of 1775, the key city of Boston was occupied by the British. General Washington wanted to take it over but lacked artillery and had been unsuccessful in his early attempts. Pastor Allen had advised the military all along to consider the British-held forts of Ticonderoga and Crown Point in upstate New York because they were lightly defended and full of back up artillery that could be useful to the Continental Army. Finally, in December 1775 American leadership heeded his advice and captured the two forts so that Pastor Allen could help organize the move of the captured cannon on forty-two oxen-pulled sleds over a snow-covered 300 miles in 56 days.

When the British saw that General Washington had deployed all that artillery, they decided to surrender the city and on March 17, 1776, some 11,000 British soldiers and loyalists sailed out of Boston harbor in a fleet of 120 ships. It was a major victory for the Patriots, a huge embarrassment to the British.

On another occasion in August 1777, Pastor Allen led his Berkshire Militia to join forces with General John Stark against a Hessian contingent near Bennington, Vermont. The Pastor marched out to the battlefield that day wearing his black robe and stood on the stump of a fallen tree in front of the American lines to offer the enemy an opportunity to surrender. Their answer was a volley of musket fire that hit all around the Pastor, riddled the stump he was standing on, and shot a hole through his hat. In the final charge on the enemy’s breastworks, Pastor Allen and his Berkshire Militia were first to breach the enemy lines which produced the victory.

After the battle Pastor Allen spent that night and the entire next day

ministering to the wounded and dying. The next day Saturday, August 18 with almost no sleep for several days, the Fighting Parson saddled up his horse and rode 30 miles back to Pittsfield to preach at his church the next day. And this is just the tip of the iceberg of accomplishments attributed to this truly extraordinary preacher.

Seeking A Personal Fellowship with the Living God

I

n response to the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of us are not socializing the way we are used to.

Even introverts are realizing they have some extrovert blood in them and miss coming together with friends. Scripture tells us repeatedly that fellowship is a key component in a Christian’s life. Ecclesiastes 4:9 tells us that, “two is better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.” Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that, “Iron Sharpens iron and one man sharpens another.”

Keeping our faith during this time of isolation can be difficult. I know for myself living alone and going through medical issues with my eye, that forced me to be still the past few months,

there have been days where I longed and wished for fellowship to help me in that area. I miss the church, but through this inability to come together with friends and mentors right now face to face, to express that particular form of fellowship mentioned above, it shined a light on how my spiritual life and fellowship with God can never be separated. The apostle John opens his letter by asserting that one of the main aims of the Christian message is we may enter into the apostolic fellowship, which is “with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ” (1-3). Such fellowship with God is at the very heart of what it means to be a Christian. Christianity is not, at its core, the observance of rituals or rules. Rather, it is a walk of personal fellowship with the living God. I had to come up with a strategic way to consistently beat the overwhelming

outside noise and concerns that seemed to overshadow my faith.

Here are some simple steps that helped me, and I encourage you to do this each day – or even a couple times a day. This routine is a beautiful way to have fellowship with the Lord and a reminder for us, that we are never alone, and He is true to His promises.

Examine your heart: ask the Holy Spirit to reveal where your feelings are coming from.

Meditate on God’s Word: find scripture that lines up with what you are going through.

Pray for Faith: ask for it, it does not always come naturally or easily.

Renew your mind: read about His promises. Read the Psalms, or the book of Ephesians is always a good start.

Build up your faith in God: read about his sovereignty. He allows all things, He knows all things, He has the final say, He is the God of our salvation, etc.

A LITTLE GOOD NEWS TODAY: The Pusher & The Preacher

IN TODAY’S WORLD, where there is so much horrific and stressful news, everywhere we turn, it is good and fair to hear something uplifting and encouraging in the news.

During my time with the US Postal Service, I was friends with a tall man who was known as the “drug pusher.” We worked the night shift for a couple of years. He came in one night with a big grin on his face and everyone thought he was just high.

But after 3 days, he still was smiling and didn’t say much at all. I finally went up to him and asked him, “Hey man, are you high on drugs?”

He replied with a big grin, “No.” I said, “You’ve had this smile on your face for 3 days now. What’s going on?”

He looked at me and then said, “Ok, I was invited to a small Bible Study and I went. I ended up getting saved and then filled with the Holy Spirit.”

I said, “Really…” Then he asked me if I wanted to go. At first, I said no, but his smile was so appealing and infectious that I said, “Yeah, I’d like to go with you.”

Well, it happened to me too, and like my friend, my life and surroundings began to change. My eyes were opened up to see the poor, the needy, elderly and transients who were silently screaming out for help. I gave away $27 thousand dollars in 5 years on the streets. It seemed that God would direct me to these people, tell me what to say to them and what to do for them. Some wonderful stories about these times.

BACK TO WORK at the Post Office.

There was a young Baptist Minister who worked in the accountable cage (we’ll call him Brad), situated in the middle of the workroom floor where all the gold and silver were kept. He

asked the “pusher” and I what was going on with us and we told him.

Every day after that, he would bring his Bible to the break-room at lunch and “show” us that this gift was not for today. We would never argue with him, just smile and say, “I don’t know what to tell you brother, but we have it and it’s truly real.”

Then one night at around 1:30am, I was walking past the Preacher in his cage. It was as though someone grabbed my arm to stop me in my tracks and the Lord said, “Brad needs $100 dollars.” So, I shook the cage door and the Preacher looked up at me and said, “Yeah?” I said, “How much money do you need.”

Brad replied, “I don’t need any money.” Then I said, “The Lord just told me you need $100.” He chuckled and sarcastically said, “I don’t need any money, but if I do, I know where to come.” As I turned to leave, with a smile I said, “You will.”

At 3:00am, over the intercom came, “Brad, you have an emergency phone call on line one.”

When I heard the call, I pulled out the $100 bill and folded it up in my hand and waited. The Preacher came and found me. With a sheepish look on his face he said, “That was my wife. She needs $100 right now. She’s on her way up here to get the money.”

I smiled as I handed the $100 dollars to him. He took the money without saying a word and slowly walked out on the dock to wait for his wife.

AFTER A FEW WEEKS, the Preacher sat down and ate with the ex-pusher and I again. He began to tell us what had happened to him.

He said, “On the way home after you gave me the money, I was angry with God. I told him, “You speak to these two guys and they’re just laymen. I’m a Pastor and you don’t talk to me at all. There’s something wrong here.’”

Finally, I gave up and said, “Ok, if it’s that Baptism of the Holy Spirit, then maybe I need it too, so I ask you to give it to me just like I asked for salvation.” Then something warm came all over me and I began to

speak in a language that was foreign to me.

When I got home, my wife was waiting for me with breakfast. Excitedly I told her, “Honey, I just got filled with the Holy Spirit.” Angrily she looked at me and said, “Brad, we’ve been taught that this was of the devil. I want a divorce.”

Every day I came home and saw her bags packed and sitting at the front door. Then, after a few weeks, I came in the door and she said, “Sweetheart, sit down, we have to talk. I’ve seen such a change in you... for the good. It’s as though you’ve just come alive. If it’s that Baptism of the Holy Spirit, then I want it too.”

We both knelt at the coffee table and she received the gift too. My marriage is stronger and better than ever… and, my sermons are anointed and truly have life in them.

Now that’s A Little Good News Today.

The United States repents the same way ancient Israel carried out national repentance: through the faithful remnant. The authentic Church is the agency of God’s authority in the world. This is not mere earthly power that depends on the strength of human flesh and muscle, rather, it is authority against the spiritual forces out to destroy the world. W. Henley expounds, “When the Church repents on behalf of its nation, God releases forgiveness and healing on the land. When that happens the waters of revival sweep across the nation, bringing life where there have been dry deserts and the harvest where there have been barren fields. The best thing for America is for the remnant within the midst of society to begin on its knees, repenting for national sins,

and seeking God for revival.”

God is at work in our nation, calling His church to humble itself, repent and turn from their wicked, complacent ways. The revival starts with His church, with His faithful remnant. It starts with you, those in whom Christ dwells. He wants to be at work in you and through you!

indefensible position arises when being confronted by someone who has completely different beliefs.

Some people become convinced that “everyone is out for themselves” and most people are not good. It creates an attitude of “I am not going to help anyone else because no one does anything for me.” Such a negative viewpoint is easily reinforced by highlighting and remembering all the numerous examples of the bad things people do and minimizing the good which gives ample data to support that “reality.”

People of this persuasion never fail to see “the dark cloud behind the silver lining.” It is difficult for family members not to be affected by a committed “downer.”

It is almost as if we put on a pair of glasses at a young age through which we view the world. Just as eyeglasses “distort” reality so that things are made clearer to us, our private logic is like a special pair of bifocals that magnify the events and interactions that support our world view, while minimizing or discarding those things that are not in compliance with our beliefs.

Long after we leave our childhood, this same kind of thing also happens in a similar way when we make judgments about people that we are getting to know. Once an impression and judgment are formed, the “believer” often becomes intransigent

and selects those examples which lend credence to an increasingly entrenched belief. If I believe that someone is a very good person, no matter what the person does, I will still have “evidence” to support that judgment.

If they do something nice, I nod my head knowingly with confirmation of my assessment...if they do something “neutral,” I see it as a subtle reflection of their goodness... if they do something terrible, I simply discount it as their having a “bad day.” No matter what they do, my opinion does not change. This works the same way with every other belief we have as well.

If someone is suspicious about the “goodness” of a person or a relationship, likewise, they will always be on the lookout for evidence to support their viewpoint, weaving a collection of words, actions, and feelings into a tapestry that, taken out of their true context, provide useful confirmation for their skewed vision. Once someone is convinced of malevolence, it again makes no difference what the person does. That is why someone who commits a serious crime has difficulty finding someone, including members of parole boards, who see them in a different light.

When I was completing my PhD and post-doctoral classes, I became a counselor and then Director of Guidance and Counseling at a very large high school in Tallahassee, Florida.

perplexed because I had not provided all the teachers with the list of the “Walter Scott Criswell House” kids.

The Criswell House was a halfway house for boys who had gotten in trouble with the law. I asked why she wanted it. She told me that she and the other teachers needed to know who the “bad kids” were. She was angry when I told her I would not be providing that list any longer and immediately went to the principal in anticipation of her going over my head. I convinced him that there was no need to set those kids up for getting thrown out of class. At the end of the year, I compared disciplinary referrals with the previous year and the decline was staggering. There was more than a 75% reduction in discipline referrals. Did the young men suddenly become better behaved that year or was the “biased apperception” removed? This was not unlike a study a few years earlier by a Harvard professor

particularly high IQs. In reality, he had chosen them at random. Two years later, those children had a greater increase in their IQ than did the other children. The number of research articles that support the fact that beliefs have massive impacts on what is perceived is staggering. Indeed, the discipline of “Social Psychology” has produced countless studies that demonstrate our “selective vision.”

There is no more important “belief” than our belief in God. It too has its foundation in our early years and is the responsibility of parents to develop. Children should see reflections of God in loving mothers and fathers who they can completely trust and know they are fully loved.

How difficult it becomes for us to trust the Father we cannot see when we experience abuse, discouragement, negativity, criticism, and hurt from the one we can see. Jesus knew the importance of childlike trust when he emphatically stated, “It would be better for him if a millstone were tied around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.”

(Luke 17:2) When we see others that believe God is vengeful and inflicts people with diseases, blindness, paralysis, and all other forms of pain, it is our responsibility to do our best to help them see that “God is love” (1 John 4:8). That is not always easy to do when the things we face seem to be inconsistent with a loving Father and is the argument levied against “believers” by atheists. But we must not expect to “see” first before we believe as Thomas Merton writes in “The Ascent to Truth,” or the faith journey may never begin.

Jesus also knew well how one’s beliefs, once formed, were difficult to change. We see that very clearly In Mark 6:3-6: “Is he not the carpenter, the son of

Mary and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not his sisters here with us? And they took offense at him. Jesus said to them ‘a prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his kin in his own house.’ So, he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying hands on them. He was amazed by their lack of faith.”

Jesus replies to Thomas’ lack of faith by telling him “Have you come to believe because you have seen me?

Blessed are those who have not seen but have believed.” (John 20:29) it is only when we truly believe that we will “see”...and when people can see Jesus in us, it will make it easier for them to believe.

Remember the Moral Majority?

People were so afraid that the Moral Majority was going to turn the U.S. into one giant Christian theocracy.

Look at where we are today — transsexualism is taught to children in libraries and basic Christian morality is called “hate speech” in public schools. America, led by the Left, has turned into an Anti-Christ theocracy — a giant cult that suppresses dissent and crushes free speech and rejects Christian orthodoxy. This is what compromise has achieved.

Christians deserve the blame for this — we have been silent and cowardly. We have replaced God’s Law with the traditions of men (“tolerance,” and “inclusivity”), and called it Christianity.

Remember the “Moral Majority?” It failed. It sought conventional solutions to an unconventional war. It fought on the old battleground of “voting” while the left took over the institutions — the Press, the Universities, the public schools, local and state government, both political parties, unions, lawyers guilds, Hollywood, charities, non-profits, and the entire legal system.

Those brave enough to post on social media get de-platformed — this alone should tell you that “free speech” has no meaning in an America controlled

by Leftist totalitarian institutions like the Universities, and Google, and Facebook, Twitter, Apple, and Amazon. Books are banned and writers are de-platformed, university professors are fired, policemen lose their jobs, military professionals are forced out, and bureaucrats are terrified of even whispering against the Leftist political agenda. Welcome to totalitarian America — we are already there.

Right now, the District Attorney in Portland is refusing to charge rioters with crimes. Meanwhile, that couple

Right now, the State of New York is determined to sue the National Rifle Association into non-existence; yet no one — local, state, or national — is pursuing charges or civil suit against Antifa, BLM, Redneck Revolt, or any of a dozen violent left-wing organizations that have destroyed property, committed arson, encouraged violence, organized riots, attacks police, and is calling for the overthrow of the government.

Women get arrested for not wearing COVID masks while our cities are assaulted with riots and arson. They expect “conservatives” to obey while they encourage rioters to foment a revolution.

Vote. Yes, vote. But at the same time, wake up and realize that your vote doesn’t matter anymore. State after state voted against homosexual marriage; they found a court to force it into law. Our representatives created laws to protect us from arson and rioting — but the prosecutors won’t charge rioters. We agreed to tax ourselves to fund a police force — then mayors “defund” the police.

Guess how much money will go back into your pocket? None — it will go to support another social justice agenda that no one voted for. Trump was constitutionally elected, yet he is for hamstrung by endless assaults from within his own Executive Branch (Comey, Brennan, Clapper…). He is charged, and his people are charged, but the real traitors walk free.

Do you see a trend? It is a whole pattern that screams that the social compact is broken.

One rule for you, another rule for me. They accept the rules when they win. When they don’t win, the rules are “racist” and “oppressive” and “white privileged.” The mere accusation justifies riots, murder, and arson.

If you agree with them (or keep silent)

they may leave you alone. If you dare to speak up, they call you a Nazi — and we were taught from grade school that Nazi’s are fundamentally evil.

Hillary Clinton called us the Deplorables. Joe Biden says that 15% of Americans are irredeemable.

Getting the picture? There is no longer a place where we can come together — either we submit to their totalitarian agenda, or, we wake up and realize that voting won’t be enough this time.

Christians must fight or we are not worth saving. The fight starts with speaking out — yet we are too scared of “offending” people. If we are not brave enough to speak then organizing is impossible.

If we try to keep our speech as actions “moderate,” well, that was the Republican Party for the last two generations and see how that worked out.

The Church has become the salt that

is good for nothing but to be tossed out and trampled under the feet of men. Nothing makes the Left happier than religious people who support homosexuality, open borders, a secular society, and who reject the Ten Commandments, all in the name of “tolerance” and “diversity.”

Either we stand up and fight like Gideon or we aren’t worth preserving. Time to tear down idols and light some torches.
