Summer Narrative Essay
The summer leading into my senior year of high school was complicated as well as interesting. Things happened that I would have never expected. However, it was, all around, a great summer. I wouldn't take any event away if I had the option. My summer included a trip to Virginia Beach with my then boyfriend, getting my first job, and helping my parents with their business. I had never been to VirginiaBeach until this trip; I hadn't been to a beach in more than ten years. This trip was a turning point in my relationship with my now ex–boyfriend. We had a decent hour and a half drive to get there. Once we actually made it to the beach is when things started going downhill. We put out our towels as blankets on the sand and started to get into the beach vibe. I went down to the water and started taking in the beauty that is the ocean with the sounds of the birds and chatter of families around me. When we were in the water, I accidentally splashed him in the face with water, and he stormed back to our spot. He wasn't in a good mood for the rest of the day. Later on, when we went to dinner, it took us an hour to get our food. Then on the way home, I was almost driven off of a bridge by a truck. There were smaller events that made the trip not as fun, too. However, if I had the opportunity to erase the trip, I wouldn't because it showed me more about him in those six to seven hours than it did in the three years we were together. We did enjoy each other's company during this trip, Get more content
Narrative Essay About Summer Vacation
Summer Vacation
Do you know the reason why we have summer vacation? I believe that summer vacation is not just about sleeping in and appreciating the time off, it includes spending time with your close friends and family, and that is exactly what I did this summer break. There were many fascinating things I did this summer and in this essay I will tell you a few of things I enjoyed doing.
Spending time with close relatives and is exactly what I did to kickoff my summer even though massive amount of them lived out of the state Indiana going to Seattle, Mexico, Texas, and Virginia. Somehow we accomplished the task to see my whopping 275family members only on my mom's side, we ended up putting on a huge family reunion to...show more content...
For that rest of the day we went to a restaurant called Puckett's and apparently it is right down the road from Justin Timberlake's recording studio/private house, All of the kids including me went to his front and touched his door knob and I might of took a sneak peek inside his house. The last day we were there we visited a beautiful waterfall, even though it was a lovely site the water part was very deadly. The reason why it was deadly was there were big boulders everywhere you stepped, and there were water moccasins which are venomous snakes that lurked around in the water. When it was time to live the waterfall a water moccasin was about 20 feet in front of me and my friends, thankfully another guy ran into the water scaring the snake away making it safe for me and my buddies to get out. Honestly out of the whole entire summer this had to be my favorite vacation.
This next vacation isn't really a vacation it's more of an event but it was fun, hilarious, and relaxing like a vacation. After Tennessee we went seven days later we went to Detroit, Michigan for this thing called a muck fest. A muck fest is 5k with muddy obstacles that you run into on your way to the finish line. The race only lasted 2 hours for my mom, dad, and other family members to finish. The best part was when I was able to do the last three obstacles and get

To follow a life of success, happiness, and fulfillment will always begin by observing ourselves, from finding inner peace, figuring out your purpose, and pursuing it through hard work with the passion to commit in to our goal that will shape up our life. Without persistence and hard work it is impossible to succeed. A life without direction could lead to a path of uncertainty and without contentment. Also a life without inner peace is a life without true happiness. Have you ever felt that as you become developed and enlightened as your life progress you still felt that something is missing? As for whatGuy Montag felt from Ray Bradbury's novel Fahrenheit 451, having a complete life and a honorable profession as a fireman (burns books), he felt that there is something missing in his life, it is the books that his society wanted to be burned out, he finally found his true purpose, it is to memorize the books he have read to rewrite it in to their future for the good of humanity along with other book people. Learning that we must have a purpose that we need to realize it and achieve it. Our true purpose is to follow what we want to do, not to try to fit in other's mask but to only wear our own; it is to find out our own dream and goals to start our own journey towards success, happiness, and fulfillment in life. Once we figure out what we really want to do, we find ourselves to feel that we are going to the right direction and know that once we get to our destination we will be satisfied in life with clarity. To be contented in life we must discover what we really desired to do, it is also essential to find our happiness. Living the life today has always been difficult as for waking up early in the morning to go to work or school, arguments with a stranger or sibling, or just personal concerns. Having this

Essay on Summer Reading
My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school vacation, and the endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it's the perfect atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to be the fact that school is closed for two months. During summer, you're free to do whatever you want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early for school. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a beach or simply having dinner together. I love the hot and humid days that makes you want to dive into a fresh and cold pool. When summer time starts, you can wear lighter clothes, which are much more comfortable. The weather allows people to go outdoors to...show more content... The break calls for staying up late and waking up whenever you want to. Everyone works so hard during the school year, so they deserve that free time. Summer times are stress free, relaxing, and basically fun. You don't have to worry about homework, projects, and studying for a test. One of my favorite summer pastimes is staying up late watching movies and eating junk food, and then waking up late and having brunch.
Summer season is the best time for festivals and activities. You can never get bored on a summer day or night. During the day, there are fun activities such as: swimming, sports, picnics, and barbeques. Friends and family spend a lot of time together during the summer time. There is a lot of good food, drinks, and fun music. Everyone is laughing and having a good time. Summer evenings are the best time for concerts, movies, parties, and relaxing with friends. The summer evenings are beautiful because of the sparkly and glittery city lights. One of the best events of the year, July Fourth, happens during summer. The celebration of July fourth is very extravagant and glamorous. People gather around to celebrate and watch the display of fireworks. The vibrant colors and the loud sound of the fireworks are amazing. Overall, summer is just a wonderful season with so much to offer. The best thing about this time of the year is that everyone is so happy, whereas, compared to the winter, everyone is Get more content
One hot summer's day in the last week of August, my family and I went camping all the way over in Tennessee. But, every time we go on a trip like this a mystery pops up. But, then again mysteries can also happen when you are not doing anything. So, it was just ordinary camping for now. It was just going to be our family, but Elizabeth decided to invite Daniel Hoffman and Thomas Flipsbargen since their parents were out of town. Ugh! They're really annoying boys, to me at least. Elizabeth doesn't think they are annoying, and neither does April or Jamie, who by the way decided to come along as well, so it may just be me. I do get kind of nervous around boys. We would be traveling 434.8 miles or 6 hours and 31 minutes in a van with only a little bit of luggage space, and only a few rest–stops along the way! And, then we would have to eat, and the kids might be noisy, and... There are a lot of possibilities to consider when you are taking a big trip with numerous amounts of people. We were going to take our trusty van, but, it only holds eight people and we had ten people coming along. We planned to leave at six in the morning. We packed that night making sure to pack clothes, our tooth brushes, brushes, and a few toys for Justin and Ellie, cooking necessities and other things. I slept restlessly that night, my mind was wandering. "What kind of mystery will be waiting for me?" "Will there be one?" "Should I just go to sleep?" Elizabeth finally rolled over in her bed and

Descriptive Essay On A Summer Day
In my Summer Reading Essay, I see many skills I could improve on and many things that I need to continue in further essays. The first thing I struggled with was MLA format, specifically the heading, and the header. So while writing this essay, I took another try at completing the heading, and header. When rewriting myessay, I will double check to make sure I include the proper format; I can access the format by looking it up on the internet. Another thing I struggled with, was the simple formatting techniques including underlining the title of the novel, and center the title of the paper. I practiced centering the title when writing this reflection piece, and I can score better on my next essay on this formating by remembering to check formating,

On Summer Reading
My Summer Camp Experience
This Summer, I had the best time of my life. I learned some valuable lessons, I made some friends, and I had so much fun. Even if I didn't know it. This is the story of my summer camp experience.About two months earlier had signed up for a Camp in Indiana called YMCA Camp Potawotami. My neighbor who is a year younger than me went to camp with me. We got to our summer camp on the Sunday before. I had a lot of fun, but my part of this event, is when the girls in my cabin and I became true friends. We walked back from swim time and going onto the walk to our cabin. Our cabin was one of the older cabins, but it was nice. The building was a Wooden log building with two main hallways, one for the boys and one for the girls, which both came together in a main room that had one huge window wall, in the middle, and two other walls on the side that had one huge window in the middle.
"Ok girls, pack up your stuff for camping, but remember we're only going for one night." Our councilor ,Greer, told us. So we packed our stuff in bags and went to set up our tents. We walked about half a mile up a grassy path with woods to the left, and a field of wheat to the right. We came to a clearing that was in the shape of a circle. With it, were two tents packed up in their tiny little bags in the middle of a circle, along with a fire pit, and a picnic table. "Ok, we need everyone to help set up, no one should be doing nothing." Kylie exclaimed, who was our second councilor After about 20

Following the success of "The Summer I Turned Pretty", Jenny Han published another captivating Young Adult book many known as "To All the Boys I've Loved Before". And to no surprise, it had become a New York Bestseller among readers. This book is quite intricate. You may end up either loving it or saying "meh" to it. This could be due to characters' way of dealing with circumstances, how the plot line is by all accounts going at a moderate pace, and so forth. The story began pleasant and straightforward. With Lara Jean, as the main character, being a hopeless romantic who write letters to her crushes but never sends them–rather, she places them in her special hatbox. However, things got out of hand when the letters were mailed out of nowhere without Lara knowledge. What's worse is that one out of the five letters were about her older sister, Margot's, ex–boyfriend, Josh....show more content...
This book has a really ambiguous ending, meaning, you're sorta left a cliffhanger. And quite frankly, throughout the book, you'll most likely wind up being truly baffled at Laura's naivety and the characters' lack of development. But don't fret, as there are a sequel and trilogy to this book. In addition, the story doesn't concentrate excessively on the letters even if it were the cause of the conflict. But don't fret, as there are a sequel and trilogy to this book. Nonetheless, I'd recommend this book to not just people who are interested in romance but also to those who enjoy reading realistic fiction. The general tone of this book is light and comical so I thought that it was pretty amusing to read. And regardless of the possibility that the book may appear to be cheesy, the plot is to some degree relatable and the characters feel truly genuine. I personally can't wait to see the movie as it's reported to be currently

Essay On The Summer I Turned Pretty
Argumentative Essay : Summer Is The Best
The four seasons, winter, summer, autumn and spring fly by like Lightning Mcqueen from the movie Cars, racing to the finish line. When you talk about the seasons everybody has a different perspective to it. Some might say summer is the best, due to there being no school, also the hot weather. Many may argue that Spring is the best, because of the plants coming back to life after months in the grave. Finally, some people believe that autumn is the best, because of the fact that it has comfortable weather and the colors of the trees. All the seasons are great, but after you're done reading this you'll know that winter is the best season in my opinion. For instance, winter is MVP due to the outdoor activities, beautiful scenery it brings,...show more content...
When all's said and done winter offers variety of sports and activities you can play and just have fun. In addition, winter has such beautiful scenery you would think you are in a museum. For example, when snow hits ground and forms the endless, angelic sheet of white crystal it is unlike any feeling anyone has ever felt. Think about it, you wake up one day to see snow fluttering around outside and it is an amazing sight. So, you ask to go outside, sure you have to get a snow suit on or something to keep you warm but, it's all worth it once you go outside and you feel the icy crystals float around you. You will feel like Elsa., Ok, I'm done with the references. Besides the point, When people go outside and they see this god–like work of art they want to take pictures of it and the landscape just looks so awesome with the sunset in the background with snow falling creating this masterpiece that can only be recreated during the awesome season of winter. As a human and a teenager, I can tell you that when you go outside after a snowstorm it is the most breathtaking experience ever, due to the painting of white splashed around every corner. As a final note, winter is one of the only season's that give us a "Paesaggio Fantastico". It's italian for Awesome Landscape and it describes this season very well. As a final point, when winter comes around, holidays flood in like water into a bathtub. Just some examples, New Years eve/Day, Christmas and, the winter solstice.

My First Day Of Summer Vacation
Summer of 2017 was probably my best summer so far. I went to my dream place and somewhere else I have heard so much about! Before this vacation, I was so excited and I thought this place was going to be all movie stars and celebrities, but I was wrong. Over the summer I went to Los Angeles, California and Las Vegas Nevada. Now, I am not telling you about two different trips, this was all in one trip. On August fifth, 2017 we drove two hours to Indianapolis and got on a plane to go to California. The flight was about four hours, three hours and fifty– eight minutes to be exact. We had first class. My dad and sister sat next to each other and my mom and I sat next to each other. Once we landed at the airport in Los Angeles, we had to get our suitcases and our rental car. Getting our suitcases took about forty–five minutes and getting the car rental took about an hour and a half. Once we got to our hotel, it was ten o'clock p.m. their time, Twelve o 'clock a.m. our time. We were all hungry because even though we had food on the plane, most of us didn't eat it. So we ordered pizza and went to bed. The next day, we went to the Walk of Fame and saw all the movie stars names on the stars. We also went on some tours, such as TM Z. TM Z was probably my favorite thing we did there, it was so much fun! We also went to the Chinese Theater museum and went to go see the Hollywood sign, from afar. We also went to this very nice restaurant, my dad enjoyed a lot. The next few days, we

A study taken by Northern Illinois University shows that parents usually have no problem sending their kids outside in the summer months when the sun is shining, and it is warm outside. When the weather changes from sunny, and hot to cold and dreadful is when parents have a little less trust sending their children into the colder weather. The study states that sending your child to play outside in the winter months improves their immune system, stimulates the brain leading to a better imagination, and it promotes problem solving skills. For example, children playing outside in the winter rather than playing video games inside are more likely to be able to solve real life problems and they are more outgoing when it comes to making friends. These are the many reasons to travel to popular destinations and have fun with the activities of summer or winter. There is a wide range of foods that people eat from summer to winter. For instance, being from Minnesota people are really into grilling and cooking food on the fire in the summer months but in the winter people like cooking soups and broths on the stove and in crockpots. In summer, because it is always so hot outside people would like to eat cold food like ice cream to keep them cooled down in the heat. During winter however, because it is

Three teenagers who have just been on summer break for three days are looking to make their summer not so boring and a little more memorable. They are all nineteen years old and are attending college. At this age many kids are unsure of what they want to do for the rest of their life. They just want to live life in the moment and not think about their future. The one boy has his father paying for college, it seems to me they are not very driven and unsure of their futures. Sadly, these teenagers don't want to be responsible for themselves. Ultimately, they would rather have their parents do everything for them for the rest of their life. They have little to no motivation, today kids often take summer classes or at least attain a head start on their next semester. Back then you were legally able to drink at the age of 19. They talk about going from bar to bar. "On this, the third night, we'd cruised the strip sixty–seven times, been in and out of every bar and club we could think of in a twenty–mile radius. It was 2:00 A.M.; the bars were closing" (Kennedy 528). Eventually, the boys settle on going to their usual hang out spot, the Greasy lake. They consider the Greasy lake to be a secluded spot that people will not go looking for them. Moreover, it is largely a spot where teenagers go to hang out and socialize. In fact, they are looking for some entertainment since all the bars closed. They are in search of that memorable summer that will last a lifetime. Therefore, they want experiences that they can retell when they are old; they are thrill seekers looking for that story of a lifetime. You could say they are trying to produce memories together as friends. Even though this may not be the right memories they wanted to achieve as friends, they did it anyways. It may have just started out a fun night with his friends, but that is not how it will end! They try to pull a prank on one of their friends at the lake, it was all supposed to be innocent fun. "We hit the horn, strobed the lights, and then jumped out of the car to press our witty faces to Tony's windows" (Kennedy 528). As you can tell it was meant to be harmless, just some guys trying to have fun with one of their friends that got out of hand. "The

Persuasive Essay On Summer Break
It was a gorgeous summer day. the sun was shining, the birds were singing, and the world was at peace on the seemingly carefree sunday afternoon. church had just ended and the children ran fast and free ready to play. They ran two and twelve towards the town's lake to go swimming, in order to ward off the heat of the noon sun. They stampeded through town bumping over numerous people and even one another to reach the cool blue waves. The menacing multitude took a sharp turn from the street to an old dusty road. The trees shook in the evening breeze and swayed slightly further when the children hurried by. Dust faintly clouded out the light that poured over the path. Finally they reached the dock and began to take off and swap clothes. The boys took off their shirts and pants and swam in their underwear, while the girls chose to go behind some nearby bushes.and exchange out their attire. When everyone was in they started to splash one another while laughing and shouting. A few of them dived under the water to search for fish and other sea life. When they came back, up two of them had seaweed, one held a starfish, and two others had a crab holding it by both sides. It was getting a little later in the day, but the kids were not quite yet ready to leave their fun to rest. Summertime It was early dawn on a Friday morning, as the sun rises from the distant blue ocean we wait for daylight to breakout. My friend and I sat down on spot on the beach, as I focus closely at the surface of the waterfront the sand is very white, much like the winter snowflakes. As I look along the different points along the shore, the waves and ripple's of the salty water crash upon various sections of the beach. These include a nudist section, a gay section, and a family section, I wasn't sure but there might have been a section reserved for nude, gay families. After about ten minutes of walking, we decided to rest as the scorching sizzling sun began to tear through the clouds. We sat down as I drove the palm of my hand through the white sandy beach, the sand grains were transparent like fine crystal grains. The noise and activity of the family section of the beach was a distant blur to the east. We walked on the empty stretch of beach for another ten minutes until we had arrived. The twenty–minute walk had felt like a never–ending desert. We then sat back in our desired location absorbing the heat and ocean breeze. "Hooray!" I shouted, I am so excited about today. Why am I so enthusiastic you may ask, because today is the first day of summer vacation. We were on our way to the beach Every year me and my family visit the beach for a whole month. So as you can see there is much to be excited about. As we drove along I could barely wait, I could smell the fresh, salty ocean air. I asked my parents "are we there yet." They replied with one word, yes! This year in particular is extra exciting because we are going to rent a new beach house. We had arrived as I leapt up out of the car to my dismay the new beach house wasn't as great as I had anticipated.
My parents and I went for a walk around town. As I was dragged into the Pirate Museum I listened to stories of the pirates and their treasure. The stories were not at all what I had expected they surprisingly were very interesting. One story in particular was the most interesting about pirates who had supposedly buried their treasure on this very beach. When we returned home I went outside searched for more about this new found buried treasure. I felt the hot, dry rough grains of sand on my feet. As I searched I heard someone call out "hey what are you doing." As I looked up I saw the face of the kid from the beach house down the street. I replied, "I am looking for the buried treasure."The kids name was Joe and he wanted to help me on my quest. We decided that the next day we would look for clues around town.
The next day we split up and looked for clues I went to learn more from the Pirates Museum and it's workers and he asked around people town and looked for other places that might help. From my second trip at the museum, I was told much more about the pirates who sailed the deadly ocean seas. I could practically feel the windy, cold rough seas of the ocean. I learned this city used to be the hideout for the pirates, and that there was also a map hidden somewhere to lead you to the treasure. Part of the map was kept here in a secret room but the rest was yet to be found. I was overjoyed with this incredible news and ran quickly to tell Joe. If we found the rest of the map we could find the treasure. I saw my new friend Joe walking towards me, he had also

How I Will Spend My Summer Vacation
How I will Spend My Summer Vacation
There is an old proverb that goes, 'all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.' I agree. For me, the summer vacation will provide me with a rare opportunity to take a well–deserved rest after a year of hard work. Last summer, I chose to engage in activities that would help me relax my mind and recoup not only my health but also my vitality. Thissummer will be no different. Towards this end, I plan to tour a number of amazing locations, read at least two interesting and/or informative books, and reflect on my accomplishments and failures so far. The relevance of visiting places or locations one has never visited before cannot be overstated. In addition to helping relax the mind, travelling also carries with it some educational value. This summer, I plan to visit two major locations. These include the Niagara Falls and the National Mall and Memorial Parks. It is important to note that I settled on these two major travel destinations after undertaking a laborious research on the key attractions on–site. The National Mall and Memorial Parks is an amazing place to visit. According to the National Park Foundation (2012), "the National Mall is America's front yard where the Washington Monument, WWII and Lincoln Memorials stand." I have to admit that part of my desire to visit the National Mall and Memorial Parks stems from the great respect I have for Abraham Lincoln. In that regard, the Lincoln Memorial remains one of the places I plan to Get more content
The short story All Summer In A Day by Ray Bradbury is about the power of jealousy and reveals how it can ruin people's respect for others. The main character in the story, Margot; is told she doesn't remember things that she does remember. The boys that who tell her that are jealous of her. The story teaches multiple lessons. However, jealousy is the largest and most important one. Jealousy is a really powerful thing that many people do not understand. It can completely control people. Jealousy can ruin people's respect and it is portrayed well in All Summer In A Day. Margot's classmates refuse to believe that she ever saw the sun and even if she did, she would not remember it. They know she did but they don't like that such a shy and rejected person has seen something so incredible that they have not seen. Essay On All Summer In A Day
As the last of the snow melts from the pale green grass, the sun is beginning to assert itself with more authority each day. It runs its course through the sky, arcing higher and higher towards its apex above. It is spring, and the world is humming with the excitement of new life and warmer weather. There is a faint breeze in the air, bringing the fresh scents of spring to my nostrils. Suddenly I realize with astonishment that, even though I never noticed it, I haven't been able to smell anything outdoors in several months. This is the season in which I begin to anticipate the most exciting event of the year. I only have to make it through one more month of school, I tell myself. Then, I'll be home free. At first glance, my home is not so much different from Cedarville, but you can't replace your home with its cousin. I desire to be at home, so I can do my job. And I love my job. At last, the nine–hour ordeal is over with. I step out from a hot, fast–moving hunk of steel onto macadam that still radiates heat from the long day under the sun. The sun has long gone down by now, but it has been replaced by an eerily bright, full moon. I grin widely up at the stars and let out a shout of joy and relief as I stretch my tired arms as high and wide as they will allow. "Thank you, Lord" is the one sentence I utter, and it truly sums up everything I am feeling. This has been an amazing year at school, and God used every experience I had to mold me and shape me. I've had unanswered prayers that I thank Him for, and other prayers answered, which completely changed my life. It was a long, but good journey, and I am happy to be home. Tomorrow is a big day.
