Backstory

While real estate agents often stress the importance of curb appeal, Floridians know the backyard can be the most important movement in a home’s symphony. For this East Boca spec home, designer Trina Hazley of Trina Hazley Design worked with Skymar Custom Homes and Imagine Luxury Homes to deliver a backyard melody sure to enchant potential buyers. “My favorite aspect of this space is that it is in the center of the home and accessible from almost every room, therefore creating an indoorout living experience,” Hazley says.

The designer created multiple outdoor living areas to illustrate the property’s expansiveness and potential diversity of purpose. Lounge chairs line the pool, while dining and conversational seating nooks are tucked under the fan-cooled covered patio. Hazley also gave significant thought to the paver pattern and size. She needed ample space for the furniture, but wanted to ensure there was enough of the diamond paver pattern to make a statement. And what would a finale be without a standing-ovation-worthy moment? “Our goal was to create a beautiful functional space with a wow factor,” adds Hazley. “This is where the fire feature comes into play.” (trinahazleydesign.com) —Liza Grant Smith
