WELCOME TO EVERYONE,
especially our past customers and hopefully new ones. Stephen Charolais couldn’t make a sale work this year, so we are making this online sale happen. We hope to be back with a live auction next year.
We have a good selection of bulls again this year. There are quite a few bulls with calving ease and some with more performance. They are all very well dispositioned. We are proud of the program we have deveoped over the years.
We will keep the bulls and deliver them when you need them. There will be a $5/day fee for feeding after May 1. It is a great time to be in the cattle industry, with record prices in every category. We know these bulls will go out and work for you.
Thank you for your support,
Kevin, Donna, Janaya and families
WELCOME TO THE BAR H CHAROLAIS BULL SALE.
In past years, the Haylocks have teamed up with Stephen Charolais in a live sale, but this year Kelly is taking a year off, so thus the online sale. Check out the catalogue and videos and you will see a smooth made set of bulls. Most of the bulls are AI sired by some of the industry leading sires. These bulls have been bred for calving ease and have been fed for longevity. The bulls have not been pushed and are pail fed so are very quiet as a result.
The Haylocks have been raising Charolais for over 30 years and have a good uddered, problem free cowherd. You are welcome to stop by the farm anytime and view the offering.
The bulls are selling through the DLMS Farmgate Timed Online Auction. Online bidding will open on Thursday, April 4th at 9:00 am CST and close at 7:00 pm CST on Friday, April 5th with a racehorse style close with extending bidding time. If you have questions or concerns with this system of selling, give us a call and we can help you out. The farm is located a mile west of Grenfell and just ¾ of mile north of Hwy #1 with a sign at the corner.
The buckskin and silver calves are the industry standard now and have been consistently in demand and topping the markets across the country. Don’t pass up the added dollars from crossbreeding with identifiable Charolais genetics and colour.
If Candace or I can be of any assistance before the sale or on sale day, please don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would be happy to help you find a bull that is right for your program.
Sincerely,
Helge & Candace By 306.536.4261

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DLMS FARM GATE
TIMED AUCTION WITH EXTENDED BIDDING:
Technical Support: Mark Shologan 780-699-5082 markshologan@gmail.com
1 Visit https://farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/ REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions, simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.
2 You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.
3 The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it, and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you, but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again, or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.
4 At closing time of the sale, the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minutes, if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 minutes, the computer will declare the sale finished.
5 Within 24 hours of the sale close, the Sale Manager will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/ pick up of your lot.
WHAT IS A RACEHORSE STYLE CLOSE?
Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.
HOW EXTENDED BIDDING WORKS
When we get to the close out end time, the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 minutes on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and gives all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

Don’t miss him on sale day.
BAR H VIPER 3L
This leggy Affinity son has a 75 lb BW and out of a big 1800 lb cow. I would try him on cows first before I would breed him to heifers.
Another easy doing Affinity son with great thickness and is just an easy doing bull, who will add those qualities to his offspring. Out of a first-calf Maverick daughter.
BAR H DUKE 12L
This Affinity son out of a first-calf heifer would make a heifer bull also. Nice small head, good depth and a decent hair coat.
This Sunburst son has everything you want in a herdsire. He has a nice straight wide top, good quarter, with a smooth shoulder. The Sunburst progeny never seem to disappoint. Don’t miss out on him sale day.

Great-haired Chisum son, out of a moderate framed Velocity daughter. He will go out and breed those bigger cows in your herd.
This Chisum son has it all. He has a great hair coat, disposition, thickness and is just a well put together individual. His dam is a moderate framed Downtown female. I thought about keeping him for myself. He is in the top 10% for YW EPD at 132.
A Chisum son out of a 12-year old cow. For some reason he ended up with horns, but don’t let that discourage you. Use him on those red cows and you won’t have to worry about his horns.
This is a smaller framed Authority son, but he is built right to breed those heifers. No need to lose any sleep when your heifers are bred to him. There is calving ease on both side of his pedigree.
If

Here is a hairy Maverick son out of a moderate framed Sunburst daughter. Deep bodied, good quartered bull with an 84 lb BW.
Del Rey, his sire, is known for calving ease. 15L is smooth right through with a nice small head. His dam is a 1700 lb cow. He has EPDs for a heifer bull, but I would use him on cows first.

This tan bull is out of Primetime, our old herdsire who is still at the farm. 24L has a great hair coat, is deep ribbed and has a good square butt. His dam is 12-years old. He will walk in your pasture for years.
This is our first Eye in the Sky offspring to sell. He is deep ribbed, with a good quarter in an easy doing package. Don’t let his 110 lb BW scare you away. He lost his mother halfway through summer.
