Welcome to our 23rd Annual Bull Sale
It is great to see such a positive increase in the cattle markets. It is sure welcomed and needed to keep a strong and vibrant industry. We would like to thank all of our valued customers new and old and near and far, who have become great friends and supported our program over the years.
It is also with great sadness that we lost a great asset to the cattle industry and a great friend in Ron Reed, this past fall. He truly gave each of his customers a personal touch and really cared. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work with him and all the friends and connections it brought over the years. He will be missed.
Pounds matter, calving ease and structural soundness are so important with the challenges we all face. These bulls are raised in the real world! No primping or pampering! With limited labour, age and less time, these cattle have to work.
This pen of bulls is undoubtedly one of the best to date. Deep in quality, consistency, functionality and overall soundness.
There are a number of standouts in both breeds that truly deserve your full attention. These bulls are bred to calve easily without sacrificing performance. They will go out and work for you and last! Bulls are an investment and we all need to invest in the ones that create value and stand the test of time.
There are many 1/2 and 3/4 brothers and a bull for everyone, no matter the colour of your cows.
We all know things happen. In the event of an incident, we are there for you too! We need no fancy warranty program, just integrity and my phone number. Your cows will get looked after.

This 23rd Annual Bull Sale features a great offering of Charolais and Red & Black Angus yearlings and two-year old bulls.
Orland is a good stockman and has been building on a cow base that his father started over 40 years ago. By adding in solid bulls that are structurally sound, with calving ease, performance and thickness, this pen of bulls impresses me every year. Dollars for quality this is as good of buying as you will find on a consistent set of bulls.
There are bulls that would work in purebred herds in all three breeds. There are Charolais bulls that would work in a heifer pen, to top end performance sires that will give you the extra pounds and dollars at weaning as they always strive to produce high performance bull. The Angus bulls again will work at any level producing some great British influence females and many will work in your heifer pen or on the cowherd. The Charolais Angus cross has been and will continue to be the industry standard down the road. The catalogue is in sire groups, so if you are looking for multiple bulls to add consistency to your calf crop, that has been made more convenient for you.
All the bulls were videoed so you can get a preview of them at www.bylivestock.com before you go to the farm or come to the sale. The bulls will be available, for your convenience, for viewing the day before the sale at JTM Livestock.
You are welcome to tour the bulls at the farm at Hudson Bay any time prior to the sale. The sale will be broadcast live on DLMS.ca so if you can’t make it to the sale, you can watch and bid online. Be sure to register early to bid.

The bulls are available for viewing at the farm anytime prior to the sale, or at the Minitonas sale barn the day prior to the sale and sale day. Two-year old bulls will be on display, but will not be going through the sale ring.

The Program - Our bulls have been rigorously sorted so that you are getting the best. They are selected to work for you – big testicles, good feet, easy fleshing and good hair. We continue to raise and invest in high quality females that can raise superior bulls for the commercial and purebred industry.
Credit Plan - Pay 1/2 the purchase price on sale day and the remaining balance on June 1 with a post-dated cheque left at time of settlement. Also, we do buy hay! We would be willing to take hay on trade or credit on bulls –call Diamond W for details.
Credit Card Purchase - Mastercard or Visa may be used for your bull purchases. A 4%surcharge will be applied.
Absentee Buying - If you can’t attend sale day, give us a call. We’ll help you find a bull to fit your program.
The Bulls - All bulls are measured and semen tested within 30 days of the sale. This information is freely available to you. All bulls have current weight and their performance information is provided.
No Room - If it is at all possible to take your bull home sale day, we would really appreciate it. If you simply can’t, don’t worry. We can take the yearling bulls home and care for them at no cost until May 1. These bulls must be insured. Two year old bulls will be delivered as soon as possible after the sale.
Delivery - Yes, we can deliver your bull. Delivery is $75, or deduct $50 from the purchase price if you take your bull home sale day.
Diamond W reserves the right to collect semen for in herd use only on any of the sale offering, at the buyer’s convenience and the seller’s expense.

Terms & Conditions
Terms: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable immediately after the sale in Canadian funds. All settlements must be made with the sale clerks before cattle will be released. The right of property will not pass until final payment is made.
Bidding: Each animal will sell to the highest bidder. Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone their bids and instructions to the sale manager, auctioneer or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale.
Disputes: Bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision is final.
Announcements: Announcements made from the auction block will take precedence over printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are cautioned to pay close attention to announcements.
Purchaser’s Risk: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. All animals left with the seller must be insured.
Certificate of Registration: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer after payment has been made.
Delivery: Assistance will be given in making delivery after the sale. The purchaser agrees shipping arrangements will be at the convenience of the seller, but will be as soon as practical after the sale, at the buyer’s risk.
Breeder Guarantee - Bulls: Should any bull fourteen months of age or over, fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six months following the date of purchase or six months after the bull has reached fourteen months of age. The seller has the right and privilege of six months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.
Exception Guarantee: In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, this guarantee shall be null and void. The seller is not responsible for damage caused by foreign bodies after the animal has been sold or for sickness not apparent at sale time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price.
Accidents: Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sale manager, auctioneer, or sellers assume any responsibility and disclaim any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. By Livestock is only acting as a medium between the buyer and seller and is not responsible for failure on the part of either party to live up to their obligations; or for the truth of any warrantees or representations, expressed or implied. By Livestock assumes no obligation to enforce or collect monies between parties. By Livestock assumes no responsibility for any credit extended by the seller to the buyer. Any legal action taken in exceptional cases must be between the buyer and the seller. The buyer must look to the seller for fulfilment of all guarantees and representations.
Insurance: Insurance will be available sale day.
Pictures: By attending the sale you are granting permission for your picture to be used for promotional and advertising purposes relating to the sale.
