AUTUMN FILM PROGRAMME After the films featured on this flyer are screened during July we are changing how we approach presenting cinema at Pavilion Dance. There will be no screenings in the holiday month of August and then from September we will present one film a month rather than one every week. These films will be curated to complement particular performances in our live professional dance programme, exploring common themes, genres or cultural contexts. Pavilion Dance South West’s core purpose is all about dance and as our lovely but small dance house becomes busier and busier with dancing – including the launch of a new dance degree in association with Arts University Bournemouth - it becomes harder to fit in or justify presenting non-related cinema. We hope that you will continue to support our film programme and that it may even encourage you towards our fantastic live performances, too!

ENGLISH NATIONAL OPERA:
CARMEN (LIVE) BY BIZET
01
WED JUL 7.30pm
Probably the most popular opera in the world, Carmen scandalised its earliest audiences with its raw depiction of lust in 19th-century Seville. In ENO’s popular production, the action is a full-on battle of the sexes, fought out in the arena of the Spanish bullring.
