BOOGIE NIGHTS

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD

I became obsessed with this movie at art school. Structurally, aesthetically; it’s flawless. An amazing cast put in career defining performances. Plus it has one of the most notorious prosthesis in cinema history.

Captain Von Trapp is one of the coolest characters in cinema, not only does he lead an arena of people in an Austrian nationalist anthem in the face of Nazi occupying oppression, he does it in lederhosen! Best. Musical. Ever.

Even as an old man I can feel a truth in growing into a young adult and falling in love, hidden in multi coloured explosions, a deafening sound track and spot on video game references. I love this film now, if I’d seen it 20 years ago it would have blown my mind.
