CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP

Peachtree is a community of Jesus followers inviting people to love God in heart, mind, soul, and strength.

ASSEMBLE IN GOD’S NAME Prelude

Congregational Introit* Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation Prayer of Adoration*

GIVE PRAISE TO GOD

Hymn of Praise** Jesus Shall Reign Where E’er the Sun  #496 Lighting of the Candles/Placing of the Bible Prayer of Confession  Gracious and loving God, by your grace you have placed us in a land of abundance and given us far more than we need. You invite us to join your mission by using what we have to advance your purposes for all people. Far too easily, our gratitude grows weak and our grip grows strong as we clutch at your gifts to us. At times our hearts become fearful, and we look to our possessions for our security and well-being. Forgive us for failing to use what we have for the good of the world. By your Spirit cause us to live with open hands and open hearts, thankful for what we have and fearless in letting it go. Do this work among us even now as we offer our silent prayers of confession… Assurance of God’s Forgiveness Congregational Response* Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing  #379 (v. 3) Life of the Congregation**

Those who are able, please stand. Ushers will seat latecomers at this time.

Invitation to Prayer  11:15 | Caitlin Andrews Bayles, soloist My Song in the Night  arr. Andrew Bayles O why should I wander, an alien from Thee Or cry in the desert Thy face to see, My comfort and joy, my soul’s delight. My comfort by day and my song in the night. O Jesus, my Savior, my song in the night Come to us with Thy tender love, my soul’s delight. Unto Thee, O Lord, in affliction I call, My comfort by day and my song in the night. Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Offering Our Gifts  Ingrid Cole, soloist Lord, Make Me an Instrument  M. Roger Holland, II Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not So much seek to be consoled, as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved, as to love; For it’s in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it’s in dying that we are born to eternal life. —St. Francis of Assisi

The beautiful flowers in the Sanctuary this morning are given to the glory of God and in Loving Memory of: J. Ridley Howard by Pam Howard, Holly & Ridley Howard, Jr., and Elizabeth & Ben Newton & Family

Over the past five years, Peachtree has partnered with local churches in the Chitipa district of the country of Malawi to transform thousands of lives. Consider: • Where young people couldn’t afford high school, now 200 attend on scholarship • Where young women dropped out because of physical danger, a dormitory offers 100 girls a secondary education • Where local churches had no ministry to children, now more than 19,000 kids hear the gospel each week • Where contaminated water presented a life threatening problem, now over 100 wells deliver clean, life-giving water • Where food was insecure, now our Seeds of Hope have grown 80,000 sustainable gardens In one community, a young man named David received a scholarship and now attends college. He planted Seeds of Hope and grew tomatoes. The crop was so good that he began selling the extra and earned $233 —in a country where people live on $2 a day. In another community, people planted a new church, and named it Peachtree. This is what it looks like when one part of the body of Christ gives honor to another part. What does it look like when a part of the body of Christ in Atlanta

ONE BODY The body of Christ is just like the human body. God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the part with less honor so that there won’t be division in the body and so the parts might have mutual concern for each other.

If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; if one part gets the glory, all the parts celebrate with it.

You are the body of Christ and parts of each other. —1 Corinthians 12:25–27
