Why is Renewing the Promise important?
We want to update our incredible facility to ensure that stories like Beth and Rick Stevens shared with us continue to define Peachtree for decades to come.
Beth grew up at Peachtree Church. Rick grew up Catholic. After dating for a few years, they began to attend here.
“I asked Beth to marry me, and she gave me a conditional “yes” stating, once we settle on a church home, we can make plans to get married. Little did I realize how God was preparing my heart for future service to him.”
A few months later, Dr. Frank Harrington invited several young couples over to his house and posed a challenge. “If you don’t want to start a Sunday school class, please raise your hand.”
That was all it took for the Stevens to have a hand in starting the Partners in Faith class, a group of lifelong friends that continues to meet 35 years later.
“The constant in every phase of life has been the love and support that these dear friends have shown to one another as we all have shared our struggles over the years. Without these friends, I don’t know how we would be able to face some of the battles that we endured over the years. As we look back on our past and look into the future, we can say with absolute certainty that Peachtree and our Partners In Faith friends have been a pillar in our spiritual walk.”
ACTS 2:39
The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off— for all whom the Lord our God will call.
