On this day Lord, we thank you for the first responders who offered their lives so that others might live. We remember their sacrifice and entrust them to You. We pray for the families who live on today, as well as for the families of those whose loved ones continuously put their lives on the line to protect our communities. We pray for God’s provision and protection for these courageous men and women. Lord, may You bless those who, each day, embody the great love You encourage of Your people.
“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” —JOHN 15:12-13
We invite you to share a note of encouragement with our first responders. We are also collecting gift cards that we will distribute to our police and firefighters. Please bring your expressions of appreciation to the Williams Center following each of our worship services.
