This morning, we welcome Atlanta Chief of Police George Turner and officers of the Atlanta Police Department (APD) in worship at the 10:00 service. We treasure our relationship with the men and women in blue and recognize their dedication to our city and the risks they face daily on our behalf. In 2005, Peachtree Presbyterian Church and the Atlanta Police Foundation partnered to provide a Life Insurance Policy for all sworn Atlanta Police officers. The partnership to purchase the Life Insurance Policy was established to honor the memory of APD officer, Mark Cross, who was killed in the line of duty by a drug suspect on April 23, 2005. The $100,000 Life Insurance Policy is a benefit to all sworn Atlanta police officers killed in the line of duty and the families they leave behind. We will always honor and remember those Officers that have made the ultimate sacrifice serving our community. Recipients of the $100,000 Life Insurance Policy include the families of: Richard Joseph Halford

My [daughter], do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. —Proverbs 3:1–4

Isla Annslee Entrekin Daughter | Born 11/29/15 Parents Kristen & Alex Entrekin Siblings Quinn (2) Grandparents Thomas Lemley; Pamela & Thomas Loner Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. —Romans 5:1–5

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven. —Matthew 5:14–16

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. —Romans 12:15–18
