LIVE LOR D FOR THE

GENEROSITY 2024

Dear Peachtree Family, Seven years ago this October, I stood with you in worship for the first time to share God’s Word together. The passage for the day was from Romans 12, where the Apostle Paul offers what “genuine love” looks like in action. He lists one of the qualities of that genuine love as “contributing to the needs of the saints and extending hospitality to strangers.” (v. 13) What I initially knew about you by reputation, I now have experienced first-hand. I am amazed by your eagerness to minister to the needs of people and extend God’s hospitality to all. You mobilize generosity and rise to help in dire circumstances. Human-trafficking? Not on our watch. Generational-incarceration? No way. Biblical-illiteracy? Nope. The pangs of hunger, no access to education, an overwhelming medical bill? Not on your life. Prayerlessness, hopelessness, loneliness, godlessness? Never. The gospel of Jesus both demands and empowers our fight against these struggles armed with nothing other than the genuine love of God. That is why the annual gathering of our resources is so much more than a campaign for our operational budget. This is the church pulling together, marshalling against all that would threaten to tear this world apart. Every time they performed a baptism in my college church, the pastor would say, “For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.” (Romans 14:8) We belong to God. In life, we belong to God. In death, we belong to God. Thank you for offering yourself to the mission of “joining Christ daily in the restoration of all things.” We live in a beautiful moment of history that desperately needs what God has to bring in Jesus. May it be so!

FOR NONE OF US LIVES FOR OURSELVES ALONE, AND NONE OF US DIES FOR OURSELVES ALONE. IF WE LIVE, WE LIVE FOR THE LORD; AND IF WE DIE, WE DIE FOR THE LORD. SO, WHETHER WE LIVE OR DIE, WE BELONG TO THE LORD. ROM A N S 14 :7- 8

FOR TEN YEARS, PEACHTREE CHURCH HAS PARTNERED WITH THE MAHIMA HOMES IN KOLKATA, INDIA. Kolkata is a critical hub for human trafficking as it serves as a source, destination, and transit point for trafficked children. The Mahima Homes offer safety and security to children rescued out of abusive circumstances, helping to restore and heal their broken lives and ensure they are mainstreamed with dignity. With Peachtree’s support, The Mahima Homes dedicated their newest facility, Ashaneer, this summer in memory of Smita Singh who oversaw The Mahima Homes since its founding in 2012. In Bengali, “Asha” means hope and “Neer” means sacred water. Ashaneer serves as a night shelter for children in Sonagachi, one of the largest red light districts in Asia. Many women do not want their children to be exposed to what happens in this area; yet, they have nowhere to take their children so they are left exposed to the dangers of the red light community. Because of Ashaneer, these children can now be safe and secure, away from the reach of exploiters who prey upon them once the night falls. Your generosity allows us to come alongside our partners to serve vulnerable children around the world.

Dear Peachtree family, It is no secret that 2023 was an incredibly busy year at Peachtree Church. In addition to the amazing ministry programs, events, serving opportunities, and fellowship moments, we saw major construction begin on our campus with architects, builders, designers, and general disruption. That said, it has been incredible to witness the unwavering generosity of our church family. As I write this letter, the Renewing the Promise campaign has reached over $42.3 million in commitments from 914 families—these gifts are above and beyond what each of those families pledged and gave to our annual operating budget. While we celebrate all that was accomplished and is yet to come as we close out 2023, we begin to plan for next year. Our return to a newly redesigned Sanctuary, renovated Belong Community spaces, new staff offices, and more await us in 2024. As we plan for 2024, we call upon each of you to prayerfully consider how your family can help support the annual fund of Peachtree with a commitment today. Peachtree’s annual fund serves as a cornerstone of our church—allowing us to continue living for the Lord through worship, ministry programs, community, serving, and more. The Renewing the Promise campaign is creating spaces for us to do ministry and the annual fund is supplying the means to do ministry. Thank you for being a part of both endeavors. Best,

Ginny Nickles Senior Generosity Director
