The timesaving element is that you’re combining movements and taking little to no time in between - which is the modern formula for getting the most out of your workout in the least amount of time possible.

Here is a suggestion on how to get a fat-burning, heart-strengthening, aerobic and muscle toning workout in 60 minutes: Visit the Gym at Peachtree and experience Cardio Sculpt-a very effective class combining Step or Low Impact Movement with weights, Ultimate 60-a class that combines Cardio, Strength, Core & Flexibility, Step Interval- Step with Weight Intervals, or Spin Interval-Spin Intervals + Strength Intervals.

The American College of Sports Medicine’s exercise guidelines for adults recommends 30 minutes of moderate-intensity cardio five to six days per week OR 20 to 60 minutes of vigorous-intensity cardio three days per week. If you only have 3 days a week to exercise, these vigorous classes offer you the format you need to fulfill these guidelines.

Our recently renovated Cardio/Weight Room offers new AMT’s, new Lateral X, Arc Trainers, new Precor treadmills, new Precor recumbent bikes, upright bikes, and new Precor elliptical trainers, Octane ellipticals, a seated Octane elliptical & StepMill. These provide a variety of aerobic conditioning opportunities while Cardio Theater allows you to enjoy watching your favorite programs on one of our new 42” TV’s. We have Cybex, Hoist and Body Masters strength training equipment and free weights.

In addition, the facility includes an extra-wide cushioned track for walkers / joggers and 2 full-sized courts for pickup basketball, when available. Our cheerleading program teaches cheers, advanced tumbling and stunting. Gymnastics and cheerleading build self-confidence, discipline, and create athleticism within your child pertinent to any sport they play!

All-Star Cheerleading is comprised of well-rounded athletes who have the minimum tumbling requirement for USASF Level 1, 2 & 3 and who possess a passion for cheerleading performance in dancing, cheering, stunting, tumbling & jumping. Peachtree is credentialed to safely teach USASF Levels 1-5 progressions and technique in tumbling, stunting and tossing. Our unique staff comes from a variety of cheerleading backgrounds & collaboratively have experience in all-star cheerleading at national levels 5 & 6, professional cheerleading, judging cheerleading at national levels 1-6, and running UCA camps.2014-2015 Competitions may include but not limited to Athletic Championships, Cheersport & More! LUNCH BUNCH (Ages 3–5) Dancers are picked up from Peachtree Presbyterian Preschool at 11:45am on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, eat lunch with them and help them change into their leotard for class. Parents pick up at 1:15pm.

BALLET Ballet is the ABC’s of dance, providing a strong technique base for all other forms of dance. These classes are for dancers ready to progress in their technique training using barre, center and floor work, as well as combinations.

ITTY BITTY BALLET (AGES 2½–3 YRS) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday 10:30-11:15am Explore creative movement and Pre-ballet in a nurturing environment.

Dancers will use props, play and imagination to learn the art of dance. This recently added Itty Bitty Ballet class may not participate in the spring recital.

COMBINATION CLASSES This class is a great way to introduce your dancer to two or three different dance forms in ONE class! In the tap portion of the class, dancers learn how to dance and create various rhythms with their feet. The jazz section of the class is high energy with choreography consisting of sharp and dynamic movements. In contrast, the ballet portion of class explores graceful and controlled movements. These classes incorporates dance terminology, the positions of the feet, hands and body. Tap introduces students to rhythm and sound, helping develop coordination and timing. * Boy’s Hip-Hop/ Gymnastics class includes an hour of gymnastics training (which includes strengthening and training for tumbling and breakdancing) and a half hour hip-hop class.

EXERCISE - THE SECRET TO FEELING YOUNGER | BODY AND BRAIN We need to exercise BOTH our brains and our bodies. If we want to feel younger even into our 80s and 90s, we need six days a week of physical exercise. We do not need 6 days of hard, but we do need to do something, even if a walk or a yoga class.

Cardio exercise helps prevent heart disease, the number one killer over all others.

Strength exercise helps alleviate pain from arthritis by keeping our muscles strong so we don’t use our joints so much.

T-TAPP

MELT

T-Tapp a fitness program developed

by Teresa Tapp taught by Renee McLaughlin

T-Tapp is a fitness program that requires no more than eight repetitions per move, does not create inflammation, and has no jumping or other high-impact moves – yet, it builds bone density, improves cardiac function, promotes flexibility and stability through better kinesthetic awareness. Children learn the basics of basketball in low-key game situations. Fee includes uniform. Practices held on Friday evening while games will be played on Friday evening or early Saturday morning.
