CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP

Peachtree is a community of Jesus followers inviting people to love God in heart, mind, soul, and strength.

ASSEMBLE IN GOD’S NAME Prelude

Congregational Introit Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation Prayer of Adoration*

GIVE PRAISE TO GOD

Hymn of Praise† Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty  #1 Lighting the Candles & Placing the Bible Prayer of Confession Lord, on this dawn of a new year, we come before you with mixed feelings. We have hopes and dreams for this upcoming year, but we also have regrets about the year that has passed. We long to forget our past, yet that is what has made us who we are today. We ask your forgiveness for the ways we have disappointed you and others, for our shortsightedness, and our neglect. Forgive us these and the other sins we now confess in silence… Assurance of Forgiveness Congregational Response Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing  #379 (v. 3) Life of the Congregation† Invitation to Prayer In the Bleak Midwinter  arr. Tom Fettke In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan, Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone; Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow, In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

* Those who are able, please stand. † Ushers will seat latecomers at this time.

Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain; Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign. In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ. What can I give Him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb; If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part; Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart. Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Offering Our Gifts Jesus, What a Wonderful Child  arr. Rollo Dilworth Jesus, Jesus, oh, what a wonderful Child. Jesus, Jesus, so holy, meek and mild. New life, new hope to all He brings. Listen to the angels sing: “Glory, glory, glory to the newborn King!”

Some traveled north, some traveled south to see this wonderful Child. Some traveled east, some traveled west to see this wonderful Child. Celebrate Jesus, Jesus, oh, what a wonderful Child! Jesus, so holy, meek and mild. New life, new hope to all He brings. Listen to the angels sing: “Glory, glory, glory to the newborn King!” Doxology* Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow  #544

GO IN GOD’S NAME

Hymn of Response* He Leadeth Me: O Blessed Thought!  #338 Invitation and Benediction* Postlude

He was herald’d by the angels, yes, born in a lowly manger. God chose the virgin Mary as His mother, and Joseph as His earthly father. Three wisemen trav’lin’ from afar, they were guided by the shinin’ star To see King Jesus where He lay in a manger full of hay.

If your young child needs attention during worship, live broadcasts of the service are available in the Williams Center and the Nursing Mothers and Infants Room off of the Williams Center.
