Hymn Medley of Praise** Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee  #21 Love Divine, All Loves Excelling  #399 Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing  #379 Lighting of Candles/Placing the Bible Prayer of Confession Gracious and loving God, from creation you have shown yourself to be a God of steadfast love and faithfulness. You bind yourself to your people in covenant promises and you remain true to your word. When we chase lesser gods, you patiently call us to return to you. We confess that in our relationships we have not embodied the radical fidelity you show to us. Our desires are easily disordered, drawn here and there by boredom or pleasure. In your faithfulness, forgive our sin and make us a holy and faithful people. Do this among us in these moments as we offer our silent confessions… Assurance of God’s Forgiveness Congregational Response* Fairest Lord Jesus  #135 (v. 4) Life of the Congregation**

Congregation Stand and Join in Singing on v. 5

Come down, O love divine, seek Thou this soul of mine, And visit it with Your own ardor glowing. O Comforter, draw near, within my heart appear, And kindle it, Your holy flame bestowing. O let it freely burn, ‘til earthly passions turn To dust and ashes in its heat consuming; And let Thy glorious light shine ever on my sight, And clothe me round, the while my path illuming. And so the yearning strong, with which the soul will long, Shall far outpass the power of human telling; For none can guess God’s grace, ‘til Love creates a place Wherein the Holy Spirit makes His dwelling. Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

I’m goin’ to put on my starry crown down by the riverside, Down by the riverside, down by the riverside, I’m goin’ to put on my starry crown down by the riverside, And I ain’t gonna study war no more. I ain’t gonna study war no more. Doxology* Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow  #544
