GO IN GOD’S NAME

Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Prayer of Confession Merciful God, as we prepare to come to your table we hear the story of the cross in the bread and the cup. On the cross the body of your son was broken and his life was poured out for the sins of the world. We confess that we work hard to keep our lives intact, fearful of what it might mean for us to take up a cross and follow Jesus. We have sought to save ourselves and in doing so we have lost the life you intend for us to have. Only because of the cross can we seek your mercy, confident that you will forgive us and send us into the world to share the good news of your grace. Pour out your grace on us yet again as we offer silent prayers of confession... Assurance of Pardon *Congregational Response

O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus **Life of the Congregation Pastoral Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

What’s the most important thing that’s ever happened to you? Your first job. Meeting your spouse. Marriage. A baby. These are significant moments by which we mark our lives. Perhaps you have moments that are bad, as well: a business failure, the death of a loved one. As important as these milestones are, none are the most important thing that’s ever happened to you. The most important thing happened 2000 years ago on the cross. Jesus’ death and resurrection is the complete solution to your life. The work is done and victory is at hand. Whatever issues are tugging at you from all directions, come discover the CRUX of the matter.

Pastor: We give you thanks for your Son Jesus Christ. In obedience to you he went to the cross taking our sin on himself that we might be forgiven and free from sin. Almighty God, through your Son Jesus Christ, all glory and honor is yours, Amen.
