CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP
Peachtree is a community of Jesus followers inviting people to follow God in heart, mind, and strength.
ASSEMBLE IN GOD’S NAME
GIVE PRAISE TO GOD
Prelude
Hymn of Praise** We Are Called to Be God’s People
Choral Introit* Lift Up Your Eyes Ken Medema Lift up your eyes to the rising of the sun, Soon comes the day when the races of earth will be run. We’ll shed the chains of nameless fear. The mornin’s comin’ and it’s almost here, Lift up your eyes to the rising of the sun! How long have we waited for this In the darkness of the night? Did we ever think the day would come Or would we ever find the light? Once we thought the darkness would never end, Now we know it will not be long. We’ve seen the sun come over the hill And now we’re awaiting the dawn. What will it be when the morning comes To waken frozen spring? The dark of the night becomes the light of day And the whole creation sings. Blind then will see and deaf then will hear And darkness will be put away. Then shall we walk in a world made new As children of the day. Congregational Introit* Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation Prayer of Adoration*
*
Those who are able, please stand. Ushers will seat latecomers at this time.
**
Lighting of the Candles Placing the Bible Life of the Congregation** Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Offering Our Gifts Bound for Greater Things Ken Medema The Chancel Choir, The Peachtree Youth Choir
When I meet you on the highway I will greet you with a song. We’ll play music by the roadside when the journey seems too long. In the rain and in the fire I will strain to hear you sing. The Kingdom is our heart’s desire. We are bound for greater things.
Refrain
Singin’, singin’, we are bound for greater things, Bound to walk a higher road. Drawn by dreams and led by visions, we will know the grace of God. We will leave the past behind. We will fly with eagles’ wings. We will run the race before us. We are bound for greater things! Doxology* Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow #544
LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD
LOVING GOD’S GLOBAL FAMILY Matthew 25:35–40 (Pew Bible 1542) Richard Stearns 8:45, 10:00 Galatians 1:3 – 4 (Pew Bible 1809) Exodus 3:7–8 (Pew Bible 90) Joe Skillen 11:15
GO IN GOD’S NAME Musical Response* Ken Medema Invitation and Benediction* Postlude
Help me find the chains that bind me as we walk into the light. We can see with clearer vision what confused us in the night. The One who made the golden morning, The One who gave spirits wings, Gave us these hands to help each other on our way to greater things.
The beautiful flowers in the Sanctuary this morning are given to the glory of God and in Honor of: Col. USAF John Lowell Gornall & Lt. USN Lampton O’Neal Williams by John L. Gornall, Jr. & Susan Williams Gornall
If your young child needs attention during worship, live broadcasts of the service are available in the Williams Center and the Family Room off of the Williams Center.
