CELEBRATION OF WORSHIP

Peachtree is a community of Jesus followers inviting people to follow God in heart, mind, and strength.

Assemble in God’s Name Prelude

Congregational Introit * Christ Is Made the Sure Foundation Prayer of Adoration*

Give Praise to God

Hymn of Praise ** The God of Abraham Praise  #89 Lighting of the Candles Placing the Bible Prayer of Confession Gracious and loving God, you have told us that “the heart of man plans his way but the Lord establishes his steps.” We confess today that we have insisted on both planning our way and pursuing the steps that fulfill our plans. When those plans are delayed, when the way seems blocked, we are quick to complain. In our pride we pursue the story that we have authored for ourselves. Forgive us, O God, for our refusal to wait on you. By your Spirit create within us a heart that trusts you, knowing that you are at work for our good in all things. Hear us now as we offer our silent prayers of confession… Assurance of God’s Forgiveness Congregational Response Blessed Assurance  #139 (v.1)

* Those who are able, please stand. ** Ushers will seat latecomers at this time.

Life of the Congregation**

Listen to God’s Word

Pastoral Prayer & The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

In God’s story we find our own story. The Story Group Signups Dive deeper into the power of God’s story through our 8-week group study beginning September 28. Connect and grow in your relationship with Jesus and with others. Choose among women’s groups, men’s groups, young adult groups, parent groups and community groups. Groups will meet weekly, about an hour and a half, and you’ll receive a specially written curriculum to help you learn more about how your story fits into the greatest story ever told. Sign up in the Williams Center, in the Lodge lobby, and online. peachtree-church.org/storyseries

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits. —Psalm 103:2 The reasons to praise and thank God in our lives are too many to count, if we stop running and notice them. Our homes, our work, our church —the blessings are everywhere. In the coming weeks we’ll be capturing the thousands of reasons for our hearts to praise. What reasons can you name?
