Holy, Holy, Holy - # 11 Lighting of the Candles Placement of the Bible Prayer of Confession Almighty God, give us grace to be not only hearers, but doers of thy holy word, not only to admire, but to obey thy doctrine, not only to profess, but to practice thy religion, not only to love, but to live thy gospel. So grant that what we learn of thy glory we may receive into our hearts, and show forth in our lives: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Assurance of Pardon *Congregational Response

Offering Our Gifts

The Deer’s Cry I arise today, through the strength of heaven, Light of sun, radiance of moon, speed of lightening, Swiftness of wind, depth of the sea, stability of earth, Firmness of rock. I arise today, through God’s strength to pilot me. God’s eye to look before me, God’s wisdom to guide me, God’s way to lie before me, God’s shield to protect me From all who shall wish me ill, Afar and a-near, alone and in a multitude Against every cruel, merciless power That may oppose my body and soul. Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise, Christ to shield me, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me. I arise today. *Doxology

Pastoral Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors, And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

God AT WoRk dURinG A neW sTAGe of life An Exploring Peachtree Story Across the room, Elizabeth Warden saw another woman who looked just as pregnant as she was. She thought, would it be awkward to just walk up to a stranger and say, can we be friends? Elizabeth didn’t have other close friends in the city, or at the church. What did she have to lose? So she summoned courage. In the Exploring Peachtree class that day, Elizabeth exchanged emails and phone numbers with Lindsay Capobianco. Little did she know that Lindsay was living a parallel life. Young moms Elizabeth, Lindsay and Emily met through Exploring Peachtree. What happened next was a gift from God. What does God want to do in your life at Peachtree this fall?

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
