INTRODUCTION Think Rugs is the fresh, modern and unique new brand and trading name of the company formerly known as Oriental Carpets and Rugs.
The Think Rugs product ranges are based on the same ethos. In fact, the 2014 brochure includes more hand made products from India and China than ever before. We now have over 80 products originating in India and over 100 coming from China, this means that over 60% of the brochure is made up of hand made products. We always have, and always will, import oriental rugs from all over the world including the likes of China, India and Turkey.
2014 is set to be a busy year for Think Rugs, along side the launch of the new brand identity, brochure and website, we are also very happy to announce the introduction of over 80 new products successful buying team with both new trends and brand identity in mind. This years new products incorporate all of the latest design and colour trends as well as being in-line with the new modern and sleek styling of our new brand identity. New product launches include the bold and exciting Aztec design (page 21), made from high quality hand tufted wool. Another addition to the successful Elements range (page 34) is the EL65

HAND KNOTTED WOOL Hand made by only the most skilled craftsman the hand knotted production technique is the most time consuming method of all of our ranges. Knotting is used to attach the weft to the warp which in turn creates the pile of the rug. Each rug is unique and made with care. All of our hand knotted products are made with 100% wool.

HAND TUFTED WOOL The tufting process comprises of a tufter injecting the pile through a backing cloth from behind. Each pile is individually injected, the closer the tufts, the higher the density. Products of a higher density use a larger amount of material and are therefore more expensive. The quality of the wool is also important. All of our Hand Tufted Wool ranges are made with high grade wool and have over 250,000 tufts per square metre.

Each pile is individually injected, the closer the tufts, the higher the density. To create a shaggy product the length of each individual tuft is increased drastically. Products of a higher density or longer pile use a larger amount of material, and therefore cost more to produce.

MACHINE MADE All machine made products are mass produced on four metre wide looms. Thousands of bobbins provide the yarn for each loom which produces products using a computer aided design program. The rugs are produced in four metre wide sections before being cut out and and trimming is completed by hand.
