MESSAGE OF GREETINGS Dear Honored Members, Alumni and Senators of JCI, Dear delegates of the 2018 JCI World Congress, Welcome to Goa! Welcome to the 2018 JCI World Congress! It is here in Goa, that we gather to celebrate our impact of 2018 and begin new efforts to achieve our vision. Since 2014, JCI has positioned itself as the organization that will unite all sectors of society. This year we have strategically assessed our organization and we have developed a new plan for us as we continue on our journey. Through small, local actions, we have created positive change in our communities and empower young people around the world. Thank you for your dedication, passion and support. Your efforts throughout the year have uplifted the spirits of those around you. In my travels, I have witnessed how JCI members dedicate their lives to living JCI values and advancing our mission. In every visit, I saw active citizens take to heart that “change begins with me” and seek out opportunities to empower others while leading innovative initiatives to support the Global Goals for Sustainable Development. As we gather in Goa, I count on each one of you to engage with your fellow delegates, contribute fully to the discussions and to take advantage of all the knowledge the sessions and speakers provide. Over the next few days, connect with the active citizens around you and remember that “change begins with me”. Allow me to close with these words from John Wesley: “Do all the good you can, By all means that you can, In all the ways you can In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, For as long as you can.” Once again, welcome to Goa and the 2018 JCI World Congress! Best regards,
Marc Brian Lim 2018 JCI President

Goan cuisine is heavily influenced by Portuguese cuisine and famous for its rich variety of fish dishes, such as rice and fish curry using elaborate spices. Goan food may be divided into Goan Catholic and Hindu cuisine, both having a very distinct taste and cooking style. Coconut and coconut oil are widely used in both cuisines, but Catholic cuisine uses more chili peppers, spices and vinegar than Goan Hindu cuisine.
