Life on the
WILDERNESSE ESTATE The way of life here is in keeping with that of a traditional English country house: the General Manager and their team are on hand to deal with any requests, and the different areas across the estate are designed to benefit the health, relaxation and social lives of those who live here. In the main house, the reception area leads through to the main hall, where the lounge brings people together for an after-dinner drink from the honesty bar. On the lower ground floor, the spa is the place to unwind in the steam room, sauna or swimming pool. If the weather’s fine, gather some friends for a game of doubles on the tennis court, before enjoying a post-match drink on the comfortable seating by the sundial folly. A short stroll from the mews houses, the restaurant uses seasonal ingredients and fresh produce to serve some of the best food in Kent. All this is set within the estate’s extensive and varied grounds, with smart lawns, inspiring gardens and ancient trees.

The
SPA Covering the lower ground floor of the main house, the spa comprises a number of rooms that are positioned around a green central courtyard, making for a space that’s filled with natural light. At the spa’s reception, staff will be on hand to discuss the treatments on offer and the variety of exercise classes available in the gym and stretch studio.
THERAPY ROOMS The spa has rooms that are tailored to providing specific treatments. The salt and steam inhalation room clears the airways with either natural salt or an infusion of aromatherapy oils. Infused with therapeutic herbs, the sauna is the perfect spot to unwind after a swim.
TREATMENTS There are two treatment rooms in the spa where you can enjoy a wide range of therapeutic treatments, from massages to facials. The professionally trained staff will get you feeling at your best, whether it’s for a special occasion or just a laid-back afternoon at home.
GYM This state-of-the-art fitness space includes a fully equipped gym with a stretch studio. It offers you the opportunity to work out at your own pace, whether you’re taking a stroll on the treadmill or training for an upcoming event.
SWIMMING POOL The lap pool leads to the wellness lounge, the sauna and the salt and steam inhalation room. The lockers, changing rooms and a poolside shower are conveniently nearby.

The
RESTAURANT The restaurant is a new structure reminiscent of the Victorian glasshouse that once stood beside the main building. With a façade that mirrors the graceful Romanesque arches found in the original house, this open-plan space is the social hub of Wildernesse House. Friends and neighbours come together at any time of the day to enjoy a bite to eat in the convivial atmosphere. From the welcoming entrance lobby, you can see the informal café and kitchen. This casual dining area serves delicious food for breakfast and lunch – you can also grab an espresso from the barista coffee bar, or treat yourself to a classic afternoon tea of sandwiches, scones and jam. The main restaurant is fitted with large tables that have been carved out of oak trees felled in the grounds. This is the place to enjoy a sit-down meal with table service. The seasonal dishes use ingredients sourced from local suppliers, from the kitchen garden just below the terrace, and from the orchard and fruit hedges further afield. A private dining area also provides an excellent space for entertaining friends and family.

MEWS HOUSES Rising between two and three storeys, the twobedroom mews houses have open-plan living areas, fully equipped kitchens and spacious bedrooms filled with natural light. Each house has its own reserved parking space, its own private boiler and a sheltered outdoor terrace. The three storey houses also benefit from a dressing room alongside the master bedroom.

THE LIVING AREAS Pass through the entrance hallways, where the cupboards and closets offer convenient storage solutions, and you’ ll reach the living areas. Featuring underfloor heating, these open-plan spaces include the kitchen, living room and dining room. The kitchens are fitted with fully integrated dishwashers and fridge-freezers, tiled splashbacks, and large stone worktops – ideal for preparing your favourite dishes.
THE TERRACES Opening up from either the living areas or the bedrooms, the private outdoor terraces are sheltered spots where you can enjoy a quiet morning coffee or an evening glass of wine with friends in the warmer months.
THE BEDROOMS From the living areas, timber staircases lead up or down to the bedrooms, where fitted carpets cover the floor and large windows let in plenty of light. Many master bedrooms have customdesigned integrated wardrobes, while others have adjoining dressing rooms, ensuring there is plenty of storage space.
THE BATHROOMS Each house has either an ensuite or family bathroom. These spaces are generously tiled, with heated towel rails, large mirrored cabinets and a bathtub or walk-in shower.
