Reminisce Angus bulls are bred and developed for the commercial cattle industry, as well these bulls sell with registration papers. Reminisce Angus will retain a 1/2 semen revenue sharing interest. TERMS AND CONDITIONS - All bulls sell according to the standard terms and conditions of the American Angus Association. Terms are cash.

CONDITIONING: Reminisce Angus bulls are bred and raised in Beaverhead County. They have been maintained on a complete health program starting at birth, preweaning, weaning and yearling. We have done extensive BVD testing at Reminisce Angus all tests have been negative for PI’s (persistently infected carriers). All bulls have been developed and maintained on a 41 MegaCal/lb gain high roughage ration at the Big West Management cattle feeding facility in Dillon. Fertility testing, breeding soundness exam, and scrotal measurements have been completed. The bulls may be viewed at Big West Management’s cattle feeding facility.

WARRANTY The seller guarantees that all bulls have passed a breeding and soundness exam. Insurance is available, please review the Coverage Summary of Bull Mortality statement. All bulls are guaranteed for the first breeding season (60-day period following the first turnout) due to genetic and/or structural defects. Please feel free to contact us about any and all injuries. We take care of our customers. Seller will provide a suitable replacement if available, or purchaser will receive full credit, minus the salvage value of the original purchase price towards the purchase of a bull in the next Reminisce Angus sale. What a great year to be in the beef industry educational camp. Our high priced tuition is finally paying off. We have worked harder than ever before. We have risked more than ever before to try and bring real added value back to you through our beef and bred heifer programs.

When we win the bid for your calves, we know we paid top dollar, yet in 2022, top dollar didn’t square very many ranch books across the country. So yet again we are engaging at a higher level in 2023 to buy more Reminisce sired calves and bring more real premiums through the supply chain back to you and we will. As you go through our book again you will see a group of “Extreme Middle” bulls that haven’t changed much over 20 years. We continue “Making Them Better Without Making Them Bigger.” You will see a lot of bulls that look alike on sale day out of different sire groups; that’s the plan. Over half our offering is suitable for heifers. Many of them are breed leaders in feed efficiency and carcass traits. Many bulls in this sale, again are by older cows with poorer EPDs. That’s our measurement of longevity. These bulls are trailed 2 miles, twice a week up the county road and back to begin to help them learn to move out and travel for you.

Angus Association / Breed Average EPD & Values / Spring 2023

Continuing our objective of “Making them Better, without Making them Bigger”

DNA- We have collected DNA on Reminisce cattle, extensively since 2008. With over 2,400 progeny tested. Feedlot and Carcass data - We have collected feedlot and carcass data on cattle since 1988. EPDs are just one tool we use for genetic selection. Cows are never culled based on their EPDs, only on their maternal performance.

BUYERS SPECIAL NOTE

If you are looking at our catalog for the first time, we want to take this opportunity to share our calving season and bull development program. We calve our cows in June and early July. The bulls are weaned in December, then, performance tested on a 41 mega cal. Ration for 140 days. After ultra-sounding at 12 months of age, we ship them back to high mountain (7,000-7,500’) dry summer pasture for 4 months. They are put back on a high roughage ration through sale day.

These bulls on average are only about 3 months old before the grass turns yellow and loses much of its nutritional value. They don’t have much of an opportunity to graze on good lush green grass. The cows as well have to produce milk on old dry feed with only protein blocks to supplement them.

Without feeding them high levels of grain, the calves do not post weaning and yearling weights of traditional yearling bulls. However, the additional 8 months of age allow us to develop them for longevity, providing a product with more ROI. We continue to performance test all of our cull calves and several groups of customer calves to ensure we are producing top performance-bred genetics.

Byergo Big Easy 2601 was a natural fit to the Reminisce Angus breeding program. He is a moderate, massive bull with less than 100 YW EPD. That’s our style! Extreme Middle traits that cover all the bases with an emphasis on marbling, NOTE, not an extreme emphasis. The Big Easy sire group selling averaged 110 for IMF in a high marbling herd. Like all our herd bulls, we used him in volume and we like the results. You will get similar results with Big Easy as you get with Baron, Reserve, and Combination. The Big Easy daughters are very nice. They all have good udders and are exceptional mothers, even as heifers. Hoover Dam was another natural outcross bull for our genetic profile. He is the XM type and he has maintained a well balanced EPD profile for over a decade now. We flushed one of our favorite RM Sequel daughters to him and we are very pleased with the outcome. We think you’ll like them too. Hoover Dam’s are very consistent in phenotype. We flushed another RM Sequel daughter, imagine that. We starting flushing cows with Sequel’s 14-year-old dam. We have flushed three daughters and two grand daughters of this great cow. 1338 is the most moderate of the daughters and has a lot of natural thickness in her background. As always, her udder is perfect. She kept herself in great condition and never disappointed us with her consistent progeny. You will notice a very tight group of embryo bulls by her.

These 2 donor cows are full sisters by SAV Mustang 9134. They are still in the herd. Their progeny has been very similar for 10 years now. Their daughters are making their marks in the Reminisce herd. We tagged their calves on the same day 2 years ago and made the decision to flush them both. There udders were perfect. There feet are perfect. The always show up at weaning time with big, high marbling calves. Their combined progeny have gone to a lot of Reminisce customers over the years and there will more like them for the future. Like most Reminisce cows, their EPDs aren’t pretty.
