I believe when God grants children as presents to mothers, He also grants them the power to pray. Watching the children growing from being infants to being able to turn the body over, to crawl, to stand and to walk, each growing moment touches the mothers’ hearts! Looking at the children who are yet able to speak, the exchange of sight alone is sufficient to communicate feelings between mothers and children. Mothers are even grateful for the first incomplete sentence muttered by the little mouths that only babble sounds. At times mothers are heart breaking and remorseful over throwing temper at the little ones after a long hard and tiring day. All these mothers understand one truth, which is that depending on their strength alone, they can never raise up their children, that we must depend on God every moment and pray to Him earnestly. We can pray be it joyful and thankful for our children or fretting and worrying over them; we can also pray bringing to God our expectations of our children or while telling our children about God and the things of the world. It is hoped that we can all be praying mothers and all the more be the mothers that train our children to lead a prayerful life. 4
It is nonetheless not an easy task to be such mothers. Apart from saying grace and bedtime prayers, many mothers do not know how to pray with their children. Even when they are praying with their children, the content of the prayers often times spring only from the parent’s point of view. This book is produced in the midst of such needs and challenges. This book gathers and compiles the practical prayer contents that ministers’ wives and mothers who are committed in serving pray when raising up their children. All these prayers are derived from simple and down to earth day to day living experiences. They are short and simple sentences with no fanciful words and make you feel approachable. Reading this book you may realize in wonder, “Oh that is how people pray!” It is my hope that this book shall help children to become prayer warriors and help parents to be great co-workers with God in raising up their children. I pray that this book shall be the best encouragement for those parents who wish to cloth their children with the colourful coat of prayer and armour. I also pray that this book shall help parents through prayers to surrender to the Heavenly Father the growing journey of their children, so that their prayer contents shall be more abundant. Lastly I pray that every reader of this book shall enjoy a powerful prayer life!
