Neighborhood Grants provide funds for the purpose of improving or developing services and amenities in City of Peoria traditional (non-HOA) neighborhoods. These programs promote active community engagement and relationship building. Residents interested in becoming a neighborhood leader/liaison are strongly encouraged to apply.

Maricopa County Reads presents "Adventure Begins At Your Library," a Summer Reading Program for readers of all ages within Maricopa County. The aim of the program is to reinforce literacy skills and positive reading habits of all residents during the summer months. Read 20 minutes a day, log the time to your account and win prizes. Party Corner at Sunrise Pool

Reservation is good for 30 individuals and the specified time during open swim hours. The area reserved is in the grass behind the south bleachers. We will provide 2 canopies, 3 tables and 30 chairs. No access to the playground. Registration for booking opens May 15 at 6 a.m. Additional patrons must pay entry fees to the facility.

Pool Rentals/Parties

The pools are available to be rented on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer months and can host up to 400 people for private parties. Fees are based per hour, with a minimum of 2 hours rented. Full payment must be received at time of booking.

SILVERSNEAKERS ® CLASSIC/SIT & FIT increases muscular strength, range of motion and activities for daily living. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball for resistance; a chair is available, if needed, for seated or standing support.

SIMPLY STRETCHING is a stretching class. Stretches occur seated, or standing next to and behind a chair; for support.

Adaptive Recreation Programs

SPECIAL OLYMPICS SPORTS

Athletes are expected to attend majority of practices for competition. Special Olympics physicals are required before competition. Practice schedules will be provided after assessments and teams have been completed. Registration begins for Fall Sports (Swim, Golf, Softball and Soccer) on July 5 at 8 a.m. by calling (623) 773-7436.

Swim Team

Join Team Peoria’s Swim team! Beginner and advance Athletes are welcome. Beginning athletes are required to be able to swim the length of the pool without assistance. Advanced athletes must be able to swim 50 meters (2 lengths of the pool) without assistance.

Softball Team

Golf Team

We will have our skills and course team available. Please be aware our skills are designed to work on the basics of golf including chipping, driving and putting. Course team (Unified/Traditional) will be playing 9/18 holes depending on skill level. We encourage course players to bring a Unified Partner. Clubs are strongly encouraged to play.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

The City of Peoria Adaptive Recreation Program contracts with the Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities, to offer our Summer Program. All programs are staffed on a 1:4 staff-toparticipant ratio, so a moderate-to-high level of independence is required. A pre registration form is required and does not guarantee enrollment. Food/Meal Opportunities

PUSD and Summer Food Service Program offer afternoon snack and hot dinner program during the summer months. Dinner is served from 5 - 6 p.m., Mon. - Thur., a cold meal is available on Fri. 4 - 5 p.m. Free for ages 0-18, $3.75 for all others. The HART (Helping at Risk Teens) Pantry provides weekend non-perishable food bags for ages 13-19, available every Thur., 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
