Neighborhood Grants provide funds for the purpose of improving or developing services and amenities in City of Peoria traditional (non-HOA) neighborhoods. These programs promote active community engagement and relationship building. Residents interested in becoming a neighborhood leader/liaison are strongly encouraged to apply. The Block Party Trailer is FREE for City of Peoria residents to reserve. The purpose of the trailer is to build community and relationships between neighbors. Come to either of our Library locations to pick up free seeds to grow at your home. Seeds range from flowers, vegetables, and herbs. Three packages can be checked out each week with your library card. After the week is up, you may return for more!

Child abductions are a scary occurrence in today’s world. Adaptive Recreation Programs
SPECIAL OLYMPICS
This internationally recognized sports program is open to cognitively disabled individuals 8 years and older Athletes must have a current physical on file with the Adaptive Recreation staff in order to be registered for Special Olympics competition and training
Registration began for all Special Olympics sports for the entire year on July 5.

DES/DDD FUNDED PROGRAMS
The City of Peoria Adaptive Recreation Program contracts with the Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities, to offer a variety of Day Treatment and Training Services
The primary goal of all DES/DDD contracted programs is to enhance social and independent living skills through various recreational opportunities and through community outings and service projects All programs are staffed on a 1:4 staff-to-participant ratio, so a moderate-to-high level of independence is required
After School Recreation Programs provides age appropriate activities for students 12-17 and 18-21 years of age Program days follow the Peoria Unified School District calendar.
