I believed in Jesus through Pastor Sok Fong when I was 13 years old. She shared the Good News of Lord Jesus to me and she asked me, “Do you want to accept Jesus to be the Lord of your life?” I thought for a few seconds and then answered, “Yes, I want Jesus to be my Lord.” Actually, this answer was not from the bottom of my heart because I just wanted to stay in the church as my house was very far away from the secondary school. I had been staying in the church hostel since November 2016.
In fact, God has really chosen me to be His child. Since staying in the church, I have had the opportunity to learn about God. We have weekly Bible study for youths and daily worship and prayer among students staying in the church. I also read the Bible every day.
In the middle of 2017, through all the learning as mentioned above, I started to know very clearly that God is different from other gods because He is not created by human hands. He was there even before the beginning of the universe. From everlasting to everlasting, He is God.
I no longer believe in Lord Jesus in order to continue staying in the church hostel. But rather, I believe that He is the one true God and He is my Provider. He loves me forever. He has healed me from malaria that used to recur in my body. When I was affected by this illness, it troubled me a lot and made me very weak. I needed to report myself to the health centre almost every month when the illness relapsed. So I asked God to heal me and He answered my prayer.
Obviously, I am not always strong in my faith. Sometimes, I fall into temptation and become discouraged in life. But I will always learn to trust and rely on God all the time in order to preserve my faith so that it grows stronger.
