doll story Doll story is a project that can be viewed from two perspectives - on one hand it is my first real clothing collection, and on the other hand I used that collection to do my first series of moving images, exploring a special technique of GIF animation as a new media of fashion presentation.
ANIMATED GIFs
FASHION DESIGN / clothing collection
Graphics interchange format (GIF) as a media of fashion presentation can be seen as one of the youngest forms of rendering clothes and human figure. Despite the fact that the format has been invented in 1989, in the modern interactive age it is taking its place not only in fashion, but also in other representational spheres.
The idea for the collection has grown on the basis of memories from my childhood, when I spent every evening before going to sleep listening to a fairy tale by France Bevk “Pesterna”.
Fashion photography is being replaced on a World Wide Web by a moving image in the form of graphics interchange format, which allows us to present clothes in a whole new light. Through research of graphics interchange format I am the first to define a concept of fashion animation as a media of fashion presentation in Slovenia. There is some individuals who practice the techinque, but no one has defined it as a media of fashion presentation.
This inspiration and desire to create rag dolls, led me to a decision to create collection of clothes that resemble dolls wearing. The silhouette, although not typical of classic dolls, was inspired by the silhouettes of Japanese dolls. I created a modern, urban ragdoll.

that never-ending awkward moment
When I started my studies at a new faculty, 98% of the time I was totally lost and awkward... Didn’t really know any professors and classmates, and I started to question myself if this was really the right place for me ... At that time I found it so stressful and kind of depressing... This was another SUPER AWKWARD experience, came to the photography class and AGAIN... nobody there ... So I just sat there all alone and totally lost, and drew this short series of GIF animations.

save yourself The purpose of the project was to create an object out of paper, which is in some way linked to the body whether it is a piece of clothing, a fashion accessory, or just a new form which deforms the body so as to establish a new one. We were supposed to find our inspiration in mythology, and transfer the philosophy of the mythical creature into the current time. I chose a demon derived from Australian mythology - Namorodo, an evil mythical creature in the form of a flying skeleton, which sleeps during the day, but at night he eats people - children and the ones that sleep. The thing that inspired me most was the demons looks. Namorodo has long hair, nails and sharp claws, the body is composed solely out of bones and muscles, his presence is detectable as howling of the wind. In an object I created we can see the elements of Namorodo, but I made sure that it also relates to current events around us and especially in fashion. Actual ideal body is skinny, pale, and we can’t se a bit of fat on it, if it wants to cross the door of the fashion industry. The object is, therefore, an answer or reflection on the illusion of what the media world, the food and fashion industry is trying to project as the perfect body. I presented my object in the form of GIF animation and a movie that had been selected in to top 30 on the ASVOFF fashion film festival.

BYOB
I’ve been an event photographer for a while so I must say I don’t get excited about my work as much as I used to, and this is why I decided to take a step in a more exciting direction.... I’ve been invited to make a photo report of an event called BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer), which is a series of one-night-exhibitions hosting artists and their projectors. I immediately thought to myself: “why take pictures of moving images, if I could make GIFs?“

filter x cuf stickers This was a group project, the idea was to think outside the box, and create a different approach to promoting events - to be more personal and unique. I worked on this project with Stella Ivťek and Anja Romih, Stella being the leading designer and the owner of the idea. We made a series of custom handmade stickers for an event in club channel zero, for two DJ crews Filter and CUF that hosted Big dope P, a DJ from Paris. With the help of magazines, publications, some glue and a typewriter we created 280 unique, humorous stickers / flyers with a collage technique, All stickers were scanned and published online, while some were also printed in a larger scale as posters. Than we made some extra GIF animations of the making of project that were later used on the event for the collage visualization instead of a single large canvas, we used video mapping which showed an animation of all stickers ... Here I’m presenting my part of the project, the rest of it can be found online on: http://filterxcufxbigdopep.tumblr.com/

scarf
I participated in a three day workshop with the UK based illustrator Masha Karpushina. The challenge was to create a scarf design picking two techniques that we love - I chose digital collage and photography. Inspiration for the design came from Philip Glass’s music piece and the symbolic meaning of the Golden Gate Bridge. The music inspired me in a way that made me think about the life cycle because the five sentences of Philip Glass’s Methamorphosis speak about the life cycle of plants. I merged this inspiration with the meaning of the Golden Gate Bridge, where a large number of suicides happens. My scarf design illustrates the five phases of the life cycle, and the final phase, which is unfortunately in some cases a suicide.

textile pattern deisgn I designed these textile patterns as a project during my studies at a faculty. We were supposed to draw the inspiration from the photographs we’ve taken ourselves, so I took photographs of things I found visually appealing, and which seemed to me, to be able to form an interesting texture, useful for textile pattern design. I used digital and analog photographs, which I transformed by using a technique of digital collage.
what is fashion?
Fashion is not just pretty pictures, amusing fashion shows, giggling at parties with martini in your hand ... It is pouring sweat while researching, tailoring, cutting, ironing, sewing, drawing, reading numerous magazines, books, .... In a comically dramatic way, this video wants to show all the dreamers who think they know what is fashion, or they think that fashion is ''fabulous'', that this is not the case. Fashion is, in my opinion, an AGONY! The sentence, I think describes it best as: “fashion is a sign of madness and narcissism!“.

MARGIELA
In contrast to many designers, highlighting their persona, Martin Margiela has decided to establish a cult of impersonality. He has never been photographed, never showed up at the end of a fashion show, and has never been interviewed live as an individualist. His clothing label is white, or has simple numbers (0 to 23,) and is sewn on with four simple stitches. Also, the faces of his models are always covered with hair, masks ...
