Wellness with artificial surf wave Master thesys 6/2016
loca on:
Prague - Hagibor - Czech rep.
descrip on:
The idea of creation Surfhouse originated in the quest for solutions to regional studies Hagibor development. The object of the study was to extend the Vinohrady Avenue and integrating wellness and hotel into a building program. Leaving aside foreign-sounding name Hagibor, in this part of Prague is nothing interesting, there are no targets for tourism of regional or greater importance. These were the main motivation for the locating of the building that has the potential to exceed regional importance and to be covered by the general public outside our territory. Technology of wave work on the principle, which create a wave around the bow of a ship. Under the pier, which is located in the center of the pool, is drawn object through the pool, which produces wave. With the ability to change the geometry and velocity of the object can generate various kinds of waves and meet the needs from beginners to professionals. In the world is only a few similar facilities. Two plants of the same design are in Spain and Wales, the pulse wave is installed UAE. Here isn´t any yet built and roofed facilities with the full year flow. The basic shape is influenced by relation to the objects of the study and the technical requirements of artificial surf waves. The main requirement of the technology is to create a large water surface that is not interrupted. For reasons Surfhouse year-round operation is designed as a roofed hall with basic dimensions of 200 x 50 meters. Surf wave is complemented by background and so there is doublenaved typology dominated surf halls. The principle of the division of full and empty volumes referenced follows the principle serving and serviced volumes. Man should enter the building and walk across the beach into the waves, but it needs to be serviced by secondary facilities such as rent surfboards, reception, dressing room and showers. After a busy day in the waves surfers certainly deserved relaxation in wellness and restaurant.

Spacial truss Ø 120 mm thk. 12 mm
Construction is a double naved hall. Roofed space truss supported by a system of columns around the perimeter of the hall. For a stability against wind construction is complemented by a bracing in the corners and hyperboloid, which also reduces the span of the structure. In the main nave is placed concrete pool from impermeable concrete. In the second nave is serving facilities and this part is with a basement. It was used five kinds of circular hollow sections that have been optimized according to stress. The connection elements are MERO system. The model was created in Grasshopper using a physical simulation that uses procedures like Antoni Gaudí. Mechanical calculation was performed in software Karamba which is using the finite elements.

The main goal is to create an entrance hall for hotel with lobby, cafe and lobby bar above. My approach is used geometry rich facade for crea ng unforge able space and light expression. In order to don´t overkill rest of space I am using simple shapes. Hall isn´t divided because of easier observa on and orienta on for employees and guests and stairs are used like nature dominant in space. Interior furniture is choice with simple shapes and colour. Same is for the art installa on above recep on.

The shape of the house is influenced by spa al topology which we can find in electromagne c isosurfaces and many more other fields. Seamless facade which is in one moment floor than wall a er it roof and ect. This is one material effec ve way how to build. I have le this concept because, I don´t believe that it could be accepted by master commission, not because I don´t believe that it could work. I believe that this kind of shape forming building can bring really new perspec ve for percep on of city space.

descrip on:
Fluid shape of the building is literally what physics describe like blob. The building goes over the river in the shape of four water drops that are in so touch. The inclina on above the water symbolizes the communica on with the river surface, mirroring, common shape wave and water drops. View from the club is really unusual and special because the building is located in the city center. You can see the Prague Castle and the unusual river banks. The plot is situated on an island. The only entrance is a pedestrian bridge from the river bank. The building is designed for needs of the rowing club (50 – 100 club members), snack bar (40 places) and shop for water sports. Members of the club can use fitness, technical room, store for ships, club rooms and a few guest rooms.

Sirena Hotel Idea: The hotel is located in the countryside. For me it does mean conection whit nature and ecology. At the beginning the orientation towards the sun was important. However after the integrating the building to the terrain the division phase begins. My intention was to demonstrate how the shape of the building can align with the natural coastline shape and the nature itself. Building has been relaxed to natural blob-like shape. We feel in Split lack of cultural services so it has become also one of topic in our design. Main building is cultural center, which is suppor ng local social and cultural life and also a rac ng visitors. The cultural center is located in south-west and is surrounded by department houses with mul purpose ground floor. On the north there is hostel whit restaura on and administra on. Urbanism condition and design:

industry
Our project is located in a specific area of Split. We can say that is a place of connection between the old town and the new part of the city. Furthermore, it is an area where car traffic is significant. These two conditions are very present in the organization of the project. Moreover, here is an important connection between the western part of the city to the east. Finally, we must bear in mind the planned a large parking that allows parking for traffic in the city center. We want to give the continuity urban fabric of the ancient city by the extension of existing routes. In same time break these routes similarly like in old town to create a public space with small green spaces and building block and follow existing height levels.
