LETTER FROM THE BOARD CHAIR Dear Friends of Cristo Rey New York High School: As we begin our 16th academic year and second year under the leadership of President Daniel T. Dougherty, I remain very inspired by our success in delivering on our mission and ever more excited about our future as a Catholic, college preparatory high school in East Harlem, New York. With the completion of our 2018-2019 academic year, I am proud to announce that we have seamlessly executed our leadership succession plan which began over three years ago. This past June, our co-founder and the inspiration behind the creation of our school, Mr. William P. Ford III, stepped down as our principal. Our principal search committee, led by Dan Dougherty, appointed Dr. Frances E. Clemente as the second principal since our founding. My fellow Trustees and I feel very fortunate to have secured such talented individuals in Dan Dougherty and Fran Clemente to succeed our iconic founders Father Joseph Parkes, SJ and Bill Ford and to lead our school into the future. My appreciation runs deep to both the president and principal search committees, our founders, past and current Trustees, endorsing congregations, benefactors and our faculty for their tireless energy and commitment in helping us complete our succession plan on schedule. As I always do, I would like to take a moment in my letter to reflect on the progress we have made as a school in delivering on our mission. Our results continue to speak loudly: •

To date, 98% of our 943 graduates have enrolled in college

77% of our graduates have either graduated from college or are on track to graduate

Our alumni have attended Princeton, Brown, Cornell, UPenn, Tufts, Northwestern, and many other outstanding universities

Through our Corporate Work Study Program, our students have worked at leading financial services firms, law firms, accounting firms, media and entertainment firms and health care companies

Our six-year college graduation rate of 63% is more than quadruple the national average for low-income individuals

36 of our CRNYHS graduates have received or are pursuing post-secondary degrees

These results are the by-product of years of planning, commitment, focus and passion for our mission by our past and present leadership teams. As a Board, we continue to challenge ourselves and the leadership team to maintain our high standards, close the gap in our areas of need and make certain that our business model and strategy assure our future success and sustainability. Our future success depends on the tremendous ongoing support and commitment we receive from our past and current Trustees, Advisory Committee members, endorsing congregations, Corporate Work Study sponsors, college and university partners, benefactors, and staff, faculty and volunteers. Thank you for all that you do for our school and our deserving students. You are making a difference and helping us close the education opportunity gap in our community. With sincere gratitude,

Kyle L. Miller, Board Chair
