Winners of this year’s Heating Installer Awards

James Bowen of Integral Plumbing and Heating in Stafford has been crowned the winner of this year’s Heating Installer Awards. Having been recognised as regional winner for the West Midlands twice in the awards’ history, James scooped the coveted title of National Heating Installer 2023 after impressing the judges with his professionalism, problem solving, and commitment to customer satisfaction.
Commenting on his win at the InstallerSHOW, James (pictured second from left) said: “After being recognised as a regional winner for two years running, I was delighted to have received such positive feedback from the judges this year. I was extremely proud of the project I submitted and know how dedicated I am to my work, so to get some recognition felt amazing. But to win the national award is absolutely incredible – I’m speechless. Winning the national title will help me to grow my business, connect with manufacturers and do more work with others operating in the heating industry.”
Nick Irlam of Bolton-Le-Sands and owner of Irlam UK (right of picture) was awarded national runner - up, having impressed industry experts with his technical expertise and customer - centric approach. Nick has also found success regionally in the awards prior, having overcome tough competition in the North West.
Most sustainable
This year’s Most Sustainable Installer Award, which recognises those doing all they can to minimise the impact of their work on the environment, was presented to Liam Barry of Banbury - based Custom Renewables. The judges commended Liam’s knowledge and expertise in delivering energyefficient solutions for customers, with a focus on helping them minimise their carbon footprint.
Sophie Maquire claimed the highly esteemed Rising Star award, which recognises the apprentices in the UK installer community who are training and working hard to demonstrate real commitment and high standards. Sophie wowed the judges with her dedication to problem solving and the successful outcome delivered for the customer.
As winners of the awards James, Liam and Sophie will receive industry -wide recognition and a variety of prizes from a bundle worth over £10,000 courtesy of award partners, Big Wipes, CIPHE, Danfoss, LG, Stelrad and Polypipe Building Products.
Each day, many visitors took the opportunity to take advantage of prize winning competitions and live product demonstrations. They were also able to enjoy appearances from sporting celebrities, with Stuart Pearce, Will Bayley and Frank Bruno putting aisde some time to chat to installers and being open to questions on the popular InstallerPLAZA.
Mike Costain, MD of the event organisers Lyrical Communications, says: “The appetite for InstallerSHOW from both exhibitors and visitors has allowed us to grow the event fourfold over the past two years, and we’d like to say a big thank you to them all for their commitment and enthusiasm. We won’t be resting on our laurels, and we have huge plans for next year’s event as we continue to support the industry in delivering the solutions needed to secure a stable future.”
Among the features already announced for 2024 is the launch of Installer Kitchens & Bathrooms – which will take place alongside InstallerSHOW. It will incorporate
