Siam Center is now open once more after a relaunching extravaganza was held in lavish style this week to celebrate the major facelift. Taking five months to complete, at a cost of approximately 180 million baht, the renovations have completely transformed the shopping mall, turning it into one of Bangkok s most modern and innovative. New ideas and trends have been incorporated, such as smart interactive multimedia screens, backlit staircase panels, projection screens and LED screen ceilings. An fresh moniker has even been created: The Ideaopolis.

200 flagship stores are spread over the mall s four floors, with each floor given its own theme: Fashion Avenue, Fashion Galleria, Fashion Visionary and Food Factory. Many of Thailand s leading fashion houses have opened outlets here now, including Theatre, Milin, Fly Now, Something Boudoir and Kloset. Most stores are providing special product selections that are unique and only available at Siam Center, with this also extending to special menus in food and beverage outlets.

The shopping centre transcended into a magical world of desire for the afternoon, with a masked ball chosen as the theme for proceedings. Marking the official launch of Ploy Chermarn s first fragrance with Bel Perfumes, the event introduced Drama Queen to a guest list of stylists and fashionistas and to an unsuspecting bevy of amazed shoppers. Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok To Hold 6th Cancer Care Charity Fun Run in Lumpini Park

Last year s Cancer Care Charity Fun Run in Lumpini Park For the past 19 years, Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok has held a charity run to raise funds for cancer research in conjunction with their sister properties in Chiang Mai and Samui. Last year s run, with approximately 3,000 runners, successfully raised 3.7M Baht which was donated to the Hematological Cancer Research Centre at Chulalongkorn Hospital under the auspices of The Thai Red Cross Society. This year the event will take place in Lumpini Park on Saturday, February 23rd. Both the 5 km and 10 km routes are perfect for running and walking. Families, joggers and health enthusiasts of all ages are encouraged to join in. Various activities and prizes are planned. Registration is from 7:00 am to 7:45 am and the official starting time is at 8:05 am.
