Patty Larson

TEAM NATIONAL

FAMILY. FUTURE. FREEDOM.

We were business owners in Portland, OR, working about 80 hours a week. We had no time and lots of work. When we looked at Team National, we wanted the savings and more customers. With the premium package we bought more than 8 years ago, we are able to give all the benefits to our employees, kids, grandkids and eventually great grandkids. Our business saved $1850 in credit card processing alone. In fact, within 2 months, we had saved more than the cost of the package. We save on big things and little things every month. Our friends are important to us and we wanted them to save, also. We told a few people about Team National, and they haven’t stopped thanking us yet. The savings is great, but what changed our lives was the income earned from sharing this. In nine months we were able to hand our business over to our employees. We went from an 80 hour work week to, maybe, 10 hours weekly with Team National. We are saving thousands, earning thousands, helping people and having a blast. It doesn’t get any better than that! Patty Larsen

Patty Larsen is one of the most magical people I have ever met. Her devotion to help others to succeed is truly inspiring. Her compassion and empathy towards women and their struggles is raw and heart felt. I had the pleasure of meeting Patty earlier this year and instantly fell in love with her. After every meeting or phone conversation I feel lifted and energized. She gives me the feeling of hope. After just a short time of knowing Patty and her husband Jerry, I can safely call them family. I feel very fortunate to have this remarkable woman in my life. She came into my life right when I need her the most and everything she has done for me is greatly appreciated. I am beyond grateful this woman is a part of my life. Mande Moses

I joined Team National about 4 years ago. The main reason was to help build my real estate business. As a realtor, I am always looking for new ways to market myself. Team National has a Business Exchange where you can place your website for your traditional business on the Business Exchange page on the Team National website. After my first year in Team National, my real estate commissions were 4 TIMES what they were the year before. About 40% of my business that year was referral business from other Team National members. Team National members are awesome because we want to help each other. We are a TEAM – Together Everyone Achieves More! Paulette Davis

When I was thinking about joining TN, I was hesitant because of my previous history with the panic attacks and anxiety. Because I was off work so long I didn't feel that I would be able to call on people to show this business to. Most of the people I knew I hadn't talked to in over 5 years. Not really my 'warm' market. It was because of Patty & Jerry's promise to help me that I said I would take a leap of faith. I love them. I can honestly say that without their support I wouldn't be here today and an Independent Marketing Director. With the Success Club that Team National offers I am building my self esteem and confidence every day. Every day brings me closer and closer to my goals and dreams. Billie Mills

6 Small Business Ideas for Women. Isn’t it amazing to receive such valuable information that can change the dynamics of your business. I am excited to share these ideas that I hope will bring you great success in 2017. These days we women business owners are changing ourselves, our community and the World! So let’s take charge! I have put together these tips to help your with your finances, goals that will get results and maintain and grow your business.

Use a pre-paid card to pay bills. Many times we are not able to pay a business bill like a re-accruing subscription on time. And for this I recommend a Serve card. You can get one at any CVS and there is no fee to load it or re-load. Only a $5 Monthly fee. The good news is that you will not be caught -up paying high bank fees. Then keep track of the bill due date.

Do your research This one tip has saved me money and time. Before I buy something I will look at many places for different styles and price. In addition this also applies to people. Don’t be shy check out and learn more about the people you do business with.

Make a list and stick to it. I love this one! I make a list of everything! My to-do list and shopping. This really helps keep me on track.

Have a plan This by far has to be one of the most important ones! I believe this is a good way to gage your success on your goals. It will help you maintain and grow your business and keep you on track. Be sure to keep your plan close as you should refer to it frequently.

Find Like-minded women to work with. Even though you might be with several networking groups it is a good idea to be a part of a mastermind group. This can be a very small focus group of women that share your vision and mission and can bring in some new ideas and perspective on your growth and make some good connections.

Personal Development Take time for you. It is vital that you keep your mind, body and spirit in shape. Watching and listening to motivational material can kick start everyday to be a great day! Take care of yourself by eating right, exercise, reading, and resting. Your body and mind will thank you. I hope that these tips and ideas help take you to the next level of success. Success and Smiles Ann P.

Transforming Contacts into Relationships: Building a Power Network

You’ve heard it everywhere –books, Blogs, Twitter, Workshops. If you want to grow your business, network, network, network. But what does that mean? Networking is more than the sum of your contacts – it’s the depths of your relationships. Here’s how to transform your contacts into relationships and build a power network. First, building a good network doesn’t happen overnight. It takes hard work, but the good news is it can be fun, too. Your network will be filled with creative, driven people. They will be a font of knowledge, experience and inspiration. They will become your biggest cheerleaders. Networking is more than passing out business cards. It is about forming strong connections with professionals who can help you grow your business. I call these power partners – those with whom you can form a mutually beneficial relationship. Get to know your power partners, then figure out how you can help them. Why? Because that’s how you earn their trust. Once you earn their trust, they’ll return the favor and figure out how to help you. Trust doesn’t magically happen – it takes time and consistency. Invest in people you enjoy spending time with. You must be genuine in your attempts. Trying to befriend everyone isn’t going to cut it. Be professional and caring. Yes, it is possible to be both, especially when you choose to power partner with people you enjoy being with and can learn from. Follow up. Be creative in the ways you keep in touch. Invite your colleagues to other networking meetings, schedule “coffee dates,” send emails just to say “Hello.” The good old fashioned phone call still works wonders. Bottom line, follow-up is essential in developing relationships and keeping them healthy. The goal is to build strong and meaningful (and mutually beneficial) relationships based on mutual respect.

Wendy’s Tips Joining a network group isn’t enough. You have to be seen. And the quickest way to be seen is to volunteer. Hand out programs, guide people to their seats, tend bar. On the other hand, don’t spread yourself too thin. You can’t be the ambassador for every group you are invited to. Find groups filled with your target clients, groups that speak to you, and let the others go. You don’t want to be so busy attending functions you run out of time to actually do work.

Find a balance between networking and working. Some professionals see their networking as their social life – which is fine if it fits in with your business plan and your family life. Be honest and limit your groups if they become too much. To get the most out of networking 1) do it, and 2) do it strategically. Stretch your comfort zone and find two to three groups to attend and see the possibility for broader relationships. Once you find those groups, it is time turn those contacts into relationships.

Get your skill set on! As business owners we are “on our own” when it comes time for learning the necessary skills to build our business for success. So, where do we learn them from? I have found that it has been very beneficial to attend networking groups that incorporate education. In addition, armoring yourself with a variety of personal development can be of use too. Think about where you learn skills like your 30 second commercial, defining your why, how to build your referrals, your business backend, managing stress as an entrepreneur, building a team, and more. These are crucial to the success of you and your business. It can be overwhelming. Here are a few suggestions to keep you on track. 1. Hire out! Find professionals that can take the stress off of you doing everything. Most of the time it is just us being “Wonder Woman” wanting to be in control of everything. Consider utilizing professionals that can free up your time to do what you are best at. You will become more productive. 2. Be in income producing activity mode. Time management is key! 3. Work with like-minded individuals. 4. Find a mentor. If you find the right one, your sure to succeed!

Glühwein – Mulled Wine Recipe 

1 bottle of bold dry red wine (I used a Cabernet Franc) 

1/2 cup of brandy or rum (optional)

1 cup water

1 large orange, peeled then juiced

1 lemon, peeled

1 lime, peeled (optional)

1/2 cup agave syrup or sugar

5-6 whole cloves

1 nutmeg, about 10 gratings

1 cinnamon stick

1 vanilla bean, halved

2 star anise Peel large sections of skin from orange, lemon and lime. Over medium heat in a medium sized pot, pour in agave syrup and water, then add the peels and juice of the orange. Add the vanilla bean, cloves, star anise, cinnamon stick, and nutmeg gratings. Bring to a boil, then simmer for about an hour. The liquid will reduce, so after around 30 minutes, add in about a half cup of wine. This allows the flavors to infuse and will create a syrup.

Recipe by…

Wishfulchef Ultimatewomaninternational.com

When your syrup is ready turn the heat down to low and pour in the bottle of wine and brandy. Bring back to a gentle simmer and heat for about 5 minutes or depending on how much alcohol you want to burn off you can simmer a bit longer. Ladle it into glasses and serve warm. Total Time: 60-90 minutes Yield: Makes 4-6 Glasses Dec/ Jan 16/ 17

Classic Tiramisu Recipe Start...8 ounces Italian mascarpone cheese 

8-10 ladyfingers (Italian savoiardi cookies)

2 small egg yolks (or 1 extra large)

2 tablespoons sugar

1 double shot or 2 ounces espresso or extra strong coffee, cooled

1 1/2 tablespoons brandy or dark rum

1-2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa

chocolate shavings for garnish (optional) In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, sugar and half of the brandy. Whip fast to thicken. Then, spoon by spoon fold in mascarpone. Mixture should be a little softer than the consistency of mayonnaise. If mixture isn’t thick enough and comes out runny, use a hand blender with whipping blades to thicken. On a small plate, mix espresso plus the rest of brandy. Quickly dip each side of the ladyfingers (do not completely soak), then add a layer to the bottom of your serving dish. Top with about 1/3 of mascarpone mixture, then repeat and top with the rest of the mixture. Cover and rest in fridge for 4 hours or overnight. Sprinkle cocoa and chocolate shavings on top before serving.

A note on plating/serving: I made this dish on a small plate because my cream mixture always comes out pretty thick so it will stand on its own. Obviously feel free to use a traditional square pan to prepare your tiramisu in.
