With three approved COVID-19 vaccines in Canada – Pfizer, Moderna and AstraZeneca – and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine’s approval in the horizon, Canadians are hoping to return to some sort of normality in their lives. Now it’s only a matter of when a person actually receives a vaccine. Timelines for when specific age groups will be eligible vary depending on how much vaccine each province or territory receives from the federal government. As of March 29, all Manitobans aged 64 and older, and First Nations people 44 and older are now eligible for the vaccine. On Monday, March 29, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte announced that Metro Manila, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, and Cavite would be under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) again from March 29 to April 4. The other provinces will be on varying levels of lockdown from April 1 to 30. “We’re back to zero…” lamented Duterte during his national address, acknowledging the rapidly increasing cases of COVID-19 in the country.
